Plant cover with insect resistant bag for enclosing a plant
A plant cover device comprises an enclosure having mesh material to define a plant-receiving cavity. The enclosure includes a first mesh section having a closed top end, and a first perimeter opposite the closed top end, and a second mesh section having a second perimeter attached to the first perimeter of the first mesh section, and a bottom end opposite the closed top end of the first mesh section defining a trunk receiving opening. The plant cover device also includes a support extending vertically from a ground surface through the first and second perimeters and to abut the closed top end of the enclosure.
Repellent delivery device with glycerin soap body and related methods
A repellent delivery device may include a body having a hygroscopic base material, and one or more of an insecticide, and an insect repellent. The repellent delivery device may have a support structure coupled between the body and a trunk of a plant. The body may be configured to release the one or more of the insecticide and the insect repellant into a root ball of the plant using ambient moisture.
Low-profile snake barrier
A low-profile snake barrier includes a plurality of sections that form a boundary. One section of the plurality of sections includes a screen-type material that is supported by a first support brace at a first end of the one section and a second support brace at a second end of the one section opposite the first end. The support braces support the screen-type material in a collapsed configuration and an erect configuration, where the erect configuration includes an upright portion of the screen-type material extending upward from the ground and an overhang portion of the screen-type material extending from the upright portion. In the collapsed configuration, the upright portion and the overhang portion are parallel to the ground. Each support brace include pivotably coupled members.
Flexible Diffuse-Reflective Smart Chamber for Effective Target Dosing of Complex Plant Surfaces and Methods of Use Thereof
Flexible diffuse-reflective smart camber (FDRSC) devices are disclosed herein. The devices include UV-C lights sources and an irradiance chamber. The irradiance chamber is open on at least one end through which the plants to be treated are exposed to the UV-C irradiance. Further, the inner surfaces of the irradiance chamber are covered by or consist of a diffuse reflective material that passively intensifies and uniformly distributes the UV-C irradiance to penetrate plant canopies. Also described herein are autonomous vehicles for moving the FDRSC devices across fields of crops and other plants. which is controlled in real time by a dosing control system. Also described herein are methods of in-situ UV-C treatment of plants using the FDRSC devices.
ENCLOSING VEGETATIVE SHEATH
An enclosing plant sheath for encircling and protecting a plant stem or vine, which may be joined with other similar sheaths, to create a beneficial microenvironment for developing plants.
INSECT-TRAPPING HORTICULTURAL COVER, SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
An adhesive pest trap is provided, that includes: a substantially planar substrate having first and second substantially parallel surfaces and an outer perimeter, wherein the first surface includes a non-drying adhesive material coating, and wherein the outer perimeter is configured for fitting within a rim of a plant growing container. In one example, an adhesive pest trap can be adapted to cover a soil surface in a plant growing container, where a perimeter of the adhesive pest trap additionally includes one or more attachable surfaces adapted for attachment to a rim of a plant growing container. A related method of using an adhesive pest trap includes applying the adhesive pest trap over a top surface of a plant growing medium in a plant growing container.
Biodegradable shield for plant protection
Shielding for the protection of plants and seedlings from ground pests is provided. Shields can be comprised of materials including biodegradable materials that have the advantage of being formed into plant protection shields with various features, such as by an injection molding process, but that can be buried within the soil along with a plant's roots. Plant shields are provided for being partially buried in soil to surround a plant and for providing above-ground protection from ground travelling pests. Such shields can comprise a walled structure surrounding and creating an open-ended enclosure with the shield comprising an above the ground portion and a below the ground portion. The shield may comprises a Biodegradable Plastic that includes plant nutrients within the Biodegradable Plastic. The above the ground portion and the below the ground portion can be divided from one another by a divider that extends along an external surface of the walled structure in a similar direction as the walled structure surrounds the enclosure, the divider element comprising a ground engagement surface for limiting insertion of the shield into the soil.
REPELLENT DELIVERY DEVICE WITH GLYCERIN SOAP BODY AND RELATED METHODS
A plant repellent delivery device assembly may include a plant with a root ball, and an integrally molded hygroscopic body having a hygroscopic glycerin soap base material, and an insecticide. The integrally molded hygroscopic body may have an external surface directly exposed to an external environment and configured to condense ambient moisture directly thereon. The plant repellent delivery device assembly may include a support structure coupled between the integrally molded hygroscopic body and a trunk of the plant, the support structure extending within the integrally molded hygroscopic body. The integrally molded hygroscopic body may be configured to release the insecticide into the root ball of the plant using the ambient moisture.
Pin-retained snake barrier
A snake barrier includes a plurality of barrier sections forming a boundary, each barrier section includes material in the form of an upright portion and an overhang portion extending generally perpendicular to the upright portion. A first support brace is removably coupled to a first base plate using a first retainer pin and is secured to the material at a first end of the barrier section. The first support brace includes a first upright member supporting the upright portion and a first overhang support member supporting the overhang portion. A second support brace is removably coupled to a second base plate using a second retainer pin and is secured to the material at a second end of the barrier section opposite the first end, the second support brace includes a second upright member supporting the upright portion and a second overhang support member supporting the overhang portion.
DEVICE FOR PROTECTION AGAINST TERRESTRIAL GASTROPODS
A device for protecting an area against terrestrial gastropods includes at least one barrier that includes a base for securing the barrier to the periphery of the area to be protected, a ceiling wall connected to the base, a grid extending along and spaced apart from the ceiling wall, a space between the ceiling wall and the grid, and at least one blocking means for preventing the gastropods, of the size category targeted by the barrier, from crawling in the said space. Barriers targeting small gastropods can be integrated into barriers targeting large gastropods.
