METHOD OF CONTROLLING A HVAC SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE

A method of controlling a HVAC system of a vehicle includes repeatedly sensing an area of a window of the vehicle that is not covered by frost with a sensor positioned adjacent the window. When the sensed area not covered by frost is less than an area threshold value, a HVAC controller controls the HVAC system to operate in a defrost mode. When the sensed area not covered by frost is equal to or greater than the area threshold value the HVAC controller controls the HVAC system to operate in a cabin heating mode. The HVAC controller automatically switches the HVAC system from the defrost mode to the cabin heating mode when the sensed area not covered by frost increases to a value that is equal to or greater than the area threshold value.

Method for controlling the refrigerant pressure in an ambient heat exchanger of a refrigerant circuit

A method of controlling the refrigerant pressure in an ambient heat exchanger of a refrigerant circuit, particularly a heat pump circuit, for vehicles, in which the current temperature and the current humidity of the ambient air is measured, the current dew point temperature of the ambient air is determined from the measured temperature and humidity, and if the ambient air temperature is below 0° C. the refrigerant pressure in the refrigerant circuit is controlled by adjusting the rotational speed of a refrigerant compressor of the refrigerant circuit, the flow cross-section of a controllable expansion element of the refrigerant circuit and/or the ambient air volume flow flowing around or through the ambient heat exchanger, such that the temperature of the ambient heat exchanger is greater than the dew point temperature.

HUMIDIFYING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A humidifying device for a vehicle has a humidity detection part, a blower, a non-water-supply humidifier, and a controller. The humidity detection part detects a humidity in a vehicle compartment. The blower draws, as an intake air, an inside air in the vehicle compartment and an outside air outside the vehicle compartment at a specified ratio and blows the intake air toward the vehicle compartment. The non-water-supply humidifier collects water included in the inside air and supplies a humidified air, which is humidified using the water, toward a specified area in the vehicle compartment. The controller sets the specified ratio between the inside air and the outside air and controls an operation of the non-water-supply humidifier. The controller controls the blower to draw at least the inside air, when the non-water-supply humidifier is operated, and when a humidity in the vehicle compartment is lower than a specified humidity.

In a vehicle air conditioner device of a heat pump system, control of an air mix damper is appropriately performed in each operation mode, thereby achieving efficient vehicle interior air conditioning. The vehicle air conditioner device includes an air mix damper 28 to adjust a ratio at which air in an air flow passage 3 passed through a heat absorber 9 is to be passed through a radiator 4. In a cooling mode, a controller controls the air mix damper 28 to adjust the ratio at which the air is to be passed through the radiator 4 on the basis of one, any combination, or all of a target outlet temperature, a temperature of the radiator and a temperature of the heat absorber, and in a heating mode, the controller controls the air mix damper 28 to pass all the air in the air flow passage 3 through the radiator 4.

A system includes an external temperature sensor, an internal temperature sensor and an internal moisture sensor, along with an HVAC for blowing air into the vehicle. The system also includes an electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to the sensors and the HVAC. The ECU determines a difference between the inside air temperature and the ambient air temperature and sets a condensation indicator when the ambient air temperature is less than a first temperature threshold, the difference between the inside air temperature and the ambient air temperature is greater than a second temperature threshold, and the inside moisture level is greater than a moisture threshold. The ECU determines a condensation temperature at which additional condensation will accumulate on the window, determines the desired temperature for the air blown by the HVAC and controls the HVAC to blow air at the desired temperature when the condensation indicator is set.

A device controls a defogging unit of a vehicle to be driven in a driving mode corresponding to a self-driving degree indicating a degree of depending on a self-driving system for a driving operation, and the defogging unit defogs a window of the vehicle. The device includes: an identification unit that identifies the self-driving degree; and a control execution unit that controls the anti-fogging function exhibited by the defogging unit. The self-driving degree is defined as exhibiting a higher value as the degree of depending on the self-driving system for the driving operation is larger. When the self-driving degree identified by the identification unit is a second value higher than a first value, the control execution unit controls the anti-fogging function executed by the defogging unit to be lower than that when the self-driving degree identified by the identification unit is the first value.
