A battery cooling refrigerant pathway includes a thermal expansion valve (TXV) through which refrigerant flows to a chiller. An accumulator is in receipt of refrigerant from both the cabin cooling refrigerant pathway and the battery cooling refrigerant pathway. A battery coolant loop includes a coolant pathway for directing coolant from the chiller to the battery to cool the battery. The coolant is cooled by the chiller.
Method for controlling the refrigerant pressure in an ambient heat exchanger of a refrigerant circuit
A method of controlling the refrigerant pressure in an ambient heat exchanger of a refrigerant circuit, particularly a heat pump circuit, for vehicles, in which the current temperature and the current humidity of the ambient air is measured, the current dew point temperature of the ambient air is determined from the measured temperature and humidity, and if the ambient air temperature is below 0° C. the refrigerant pressure in the refrigerant circuit is controlled by adjusting the rotational speed of a refrigerant compressor of the refrigerant circuit, the flow cross-section of a controllable expansion element of the refrigerant circuit and/or the ambient air volume flow flowing around or through the ambient heat exchanger, such that the temperature of the ambient heat exchanger is greater than the dew point temperature.
EJECTOR-TYPE REFRIGERATION CYCLE
An ejector-type refrigeration cycle includes an ejector module integrated with a gas-liquid separation device. A length of a suction pipe that connects a gas-phase refrigerant outflow port of the ejector module to a suction port of a compressor is set to be shorter than a length of an outlet pipe that connects a refrigerant outflow port of an evaporator to a refrigerant suction port of the ejector module. A pressure loss that occurs when a refrigerant flows in the suction pipe may be set to be lower than a pressure loss that occurs when the refrigerant flows in an outlet pipe.
VEHICLE AIR-CONDITIONING DEVICE
There is disclosed a vehicle air-conditioning device in which a refrigerant subcool degree in a radiator is appropriately controlled, so that comfortable and efficient vehicle interior air conditioning is achievable. The vehicle air-conditioning device executes a heating mode in which a controller lets a refrigerant discharged from a compressor 2 radiate heat in a radiator 4, decompresses the refrigerant by which heat has been radiated by an outdoor expansion valve 6, and then lets the refrigerant absorb heat in an outdoor heat exchanger 7. In the heating mode, the vehicle air-conditioning device controls a refrigerant subcool degree SC of the radiator 4 by the outdoor expansion valve 6. On a basis of a radiator inlet air temperature THin that is a temperature of the air flowing into the radiator 4, the controller corrects a target subcool degree TGSC that is a target value of the refrigerant subcool degree SC in the radiator 4 in a lowering direction, as the radiator inlet air temperature THin rises.
Method for Controlling or Regulating a Coolant Circuit of a Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning System
A method and a correspondingly designed device are provided for controlling or regulating a coolant circuit of an air conditioning system, which includes at least one compressor, at least one condenser or gas cooler, and at least one evaporator. A controllable coolant expansion device is connected to the coolant inlet of the evaporator. It is detected when the coolant circuit is under filled with a coolant and, when an under filling of the coolant is detected, the control strategy of the expansion device is changed.
CONTROL METHOD OF BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A control method for a battery cooling system of a vehicle which is provided for controlling temperature of a battery module by using a refrigerant supplied to a chiller in the battery cooling system may include (A) determining, by a controller, whether an air conditioner is operated, while driving or stopping the vehicle in a state where the vehicle is started, (B) controlling, by the controller, a first expansion valve, and detecting, by the controller, the temperature of the battery module when the controller determines that the air conditioner is operated, and (C) determining, by the controller, selective operation of a second expansion valve through determining whether the temperature of the battery module, which is detected through the controlling in (B), is within a predetermined range.
METHOD FOR MANAGING A THERMAL MANAGEMENT DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND ASSOCIATED THERMAL MANAGEMENT DEVICE
The invention concerns a method for managing a thermal management device (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising the following steps: —increasing the speed of rotation of the compressor (3) to its maximum speed, —determining a modified setpoint temperature (T15-sp3) of the third element (300) greater than the first setpoint temperature (T15-sp1), so that the temperature of the second element (200) at the outlet of the first evaporator (11) tends towards its setpoint temperature (T11-sp), —adjusting the opening diameter of the second expansion device (13) so that the temperature of the third element (300) at the outlet of the second evaporator (15) reaches a modified setpoint temperature (T15-sp3), until the temperature of the second element (200) at the outlet of the first evaporator (11) reaches the setpoint temperature (T11-sp). The invention further relates to the thermal management device (1) for implementing said management method.
Methods and systems for supplemental flow control of working fluid through a climate control circuit
A method for providing supplemental flow control of working fluid through a transport climate control circuit during a start-stop cooling operation mode is provided. The method includes closing a main liquid suction solenoid valve disposed between a condenser and an evaporator of the transport climate control circuit when the compressor is OFF. The method also includes monitoring a climate controlled space temperature within a climate controlled space. When the climate controlled space temperature is greater than or equal to a setpoint temperature, the method includes turning a compressor ON, and opening the main liquid suction solenoid valve when a suction pressure at the suction port of the compressor is less than or equal to a predetermined suction pressure threshold. When the climate controlled space temperature is less than or equal to the setpoint temperature, the method includes turning the compressor OFF, and closing the main liquid suction solenoid valve.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING SEALED COMPRESSOR ELECTRICAL FEEDTHROUGH
A method of feedthrough and overcurrent protection of a sealed compressor used in a transport climate control system (“TCCS”) is provided. The TCCS includes a climate control circuit with a sealed compressor. The sealed compressor includes an outer housing and an electrical motor within the outer housing. The method includes operating the sealed compressor to compress a working fluid by supplying electrical power to the electric motor of the sealed compressor via a sealed electrical feedthrough in the outer housing of the sealed compressor. The method also includes detecting an operating parameter of the sealed electrical feedthrough, and determining whether the sealed electrical feedthrough is in a melting condition based on the detected operating parameter. Also, the method includes adjusting operation of the climate control circuit upon determining that the sealed electrical feedthrough is in the melting condition until the sealed electrical feedthrough is no longer in the melting condition.
