Vehicle door including an inner structure having a storage compartment with structural features that increase the strength of the storage compartment and improve the feel of the storage compartment
A door inner structure includes a first vertical wall, a second vertical wall, a floor, a lip, and a plurality of vertical ribs. The second vertical wall is disposed laterally inboard of the first vertical wall. The floor extends between and is connected to the first vertical wall and the second vertical wall. The first vertical wall, the second vertical wall, and the floor cooperate to define a storage compartment. The storage compartment has an open end that provides access to the storage compartment. The lip extends from a top edge of the second vertical wall toward the first vertical wall. The plurality of vertical ribs is disposed below the lip and extends from the second vertical wall. Each of the plurality of vertical ribs is connected to an outer surface of the second vertical wall and to an underside surface of the lip.
Vehicle door structure
A vehicle door structure includes: a metal door outer panel that includes an outermost design surface of a vehicle door; a metal annular reinforcement that (i) is provided at a door inner side of the door outer panel, (ii) has an annular shape so as to extend along an outer peripheral portion of the door outer panel, and (iii) is joined to the outer peripheral portion of the door outer panel; at least one reinforcing member that extends in a door longitudinal direction and that is joined to the annular reinforcement; and a fiber-reinforced door inner panel that is provided at a door inner side of the annular reinforcement, and is fastened to the annular reinforcement.
PRODUCTION OF JOINTS
Surfaces 1, 2 are bonded together by a heat activated adhesive 3 that is applied to a surface 2 to cover an area greater than the area that is to form the bond, the two surfaces 1, 2 are brought together and the adhesive 3 activated so that it creates the bond and also covers the exposed edges of the surfaces to provide an aesthetically pleasing and coatable corrosion and rust protective layer.
Self-retaining angled fastening device for securing a component to a panel in a vehicle
A fastening device for connecting a mountable vehicle component to a hole in a first panel includes a face plate with a first side and a second side. The face plate defines a first plane. The fastening device also includes a cantilevered extension plate including a proximal end and a distal end. The extension plate is connected to the face plate at the proximal end and projects away from the first side of the face plate toward the distal end. The extension plate defines a second plane disposed at an offset angle from the first plane. The fastening device also includes a retention member connected to the face plate and that projects away from the second side of the face plate. The retention member includes a first shoulder configured to engage an edge of the hole to retain the face plate to the first panel.
INNER PANEL ASSEMBLY OF A VEHICLE DOOR
An inner panel assembly of a side door of a vehicle comprises an inner panel including an inner panel portion and a reinforcement part. The inner panel portion includes a base, an outer edge and an inner edge along a length direction and partially defines a window aperture. The reinforcement part has a first end and a second end along the length direction, and is connected to the inner panel portion via a clinched herring process, and the first end and the second end of the reinforcement part are received in an outer clinched hem flange and an inner clinched hem flange of the inner panel portion formed by the outer edge and the inner edge during the clinched hem process, respectively.
Vehicular door structure
A vehicular door structure includes a door inner panel in which a work aperture is formed, a sealing sheet configured to close the work aperture, a sealing compound application section formed at the door inner panel, and an attachment member configured to hold a wire-shaped member and attach the wire-shaped member to the door inner panel, wherein the attachment member is disposed in the middle of an extension direction of the sealing compound application section, and a sealing compound configured to adhere the sealing sheet to the door inner panel side is continuously applied across the sealing compound application section and the attachment member.
MOTOR VEHICLE TAILGATE WITH SIMPLIFIED ASSEMBLY OF A SUPPORTING PLATE OF EQUIPMENT
The present disclosure relates to a motor vehicle opening panel, including: an inner panel having a lower portion, in which a second opening is formed, and an outer skin attached to the inner panel, comprising an inner surface located opposite an outer surface of the inner panel, characterized in that it further comprises, a supporting plate of equipment assembled on the inner panel and covered by the outer skin, the supporting plate being accessible through the second opening, and guide means capable of allowing blind assembly through the second opening of the supporting plate between the outer surface of the inner panel and the inner surface of the outer skin.
