STRUCTURAL ROOF PANEL FOR VEHICLE
A T-top roof assembly for a vehicle includes a roof member defining at least one vehicle-inboard insert edge receiver and at least one removable insert having an insert receiver-engaging edge and an opposed stiffener edge. A latch mechanism is included, adapted to secure the opposed stiffener edge to the roof member. The opposed stiffener edge includes a structural load path-supporting member. The latch mechanism comprises at least one spring-loaded pin, clip, bolt, or rotary latch and a cooperating latch receiver or striker, variously carried by the opposed stiffener edge and the roof member.
Top of a convertible vehicle, comprising a position detector
A convertible top, having a linkage for displacing the top, a roof tip fixed to a front vehicle cowl in a closed position, a top lock which displacable between a locked and released position and secures the roof tip to the front cowl when the top is in the closed position and has a locking support having a pivotable locking hook and a locking counterpart which can be engaged with the locking hook, and a position detector which detects a relative position between the roof tip and the front cowl. The position detector has a sensor unit having at least two Hall-effect sensor elements, one of which switches at a first distance between the sensor unit and a magnetic element and the other one of which switches at a second distance between the sensor unit and the magnetic element, the second distance being different from the first distance.
Cab and Fasteners for Vehicle Cab
A utility vehicle including a cab assembly, a roof assembly, a windshield assembly, a rear window assembly, and two or more couplers attached to one or more ROPS members. The couplers are each aligned with and are releasably connected with a buckle insert attached to one or more of the roof assembly, windshield assembly, rear window assembly and doors of the cab assembly.
REMOVABLE VEHICLE ROOF
A method and apparatus for a removable vehicle roof. A vehicle roof for a vehicle includes a translucent outer body capable of spanning the width of a vehicle, the outer body formed by the coupling of a left panel and a right panel along a central axis, the left panel having a curved left outer edge and the right panel having a curved right outer edge, a left inner support frame attached to the left panel and having left brackets and left bumpers, and a right inner support frame attached to the right panel and right brackets and right bumpers, the left brackets and the right brackets configured to affix the vehicle roof to the top of the
BODY FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A body for a motor vehicle facilitates replacement of a vehicle roof by another roof of the same type or a different type. The body defines a roof opening having a roof frame arranged around the roof opening with a reinforcing profile around the periphery of the opening. A roof seal is supported by the reinforcing profile and has a highest point higher than immediately adjacent regions of the roof frame on the side of the roof seal facing away from the roof opening. The body has a closed state with the roof releasably fastened to the roof frame in contact with the roof seal over the entire periphery from above and an open state in which the roof is no longer fastened to the roof frame and is displaced from the closed state upwardly and away from the roof seal for replacement of the roof with another.
SKELETON FOR TRUCK BED AND CONVERTIBLE TOP
A truck bed accessory frame is disclosed therein which allows for reconfiguration between an opened position and a closed position. In the open position, objects taller than the frame can loaded onto the truck bed. In the closed position, objects placed in the truck bed can be protected from the environmental elements (e.g. rain and UV rays from the sun).
Vehicle with Removable Cover
A vehicle is described herein that includes a body structure such as a windshield and/or a windshield frame, a compartment such as a passenger compartment, one or more body panels around the compartment, and an at least partially floating cover, such as a roof, disposed over the compartment. The floating cover includes one or more body structure mounts and an overhang extending from the body structure over the compartment to an aft portion of the compartment. Other similar embodiments include features such as support structures, support structure mounts that mount the floating cover to the support structures, and various aerodynamic features incorporated into the floating cover. For example, some embodiments include roll bars and roll bar mounts, aerodynamic arcs, and aerodynamically continuous surfaces.
Vehicle canopy extension
A canopy extension system attachable to a vehicle main passenger compartment canopy. The canopy extension system comprises an extension panel connectable to a main canopy of a vehicle. The extension panel comprises a head section structured to overlap at least a portion of, and connect to, at least one of the main canopy and at least one main canopy support strut, and a cantilever tail section structured to be cantilevered from an edge of the main canopy when the head section is connected to the main canopy. The canopy extension system additionally comprises at least one connector assembly structured to connect the head section to the main canopy such that the cantilever tail section will be cantilevered from the edge of the main canopy.
Roof structure for Targa top vehicle
In a Targa top vehicle, a detachable roof unit is supported between a front roof arch along an upper edge of a front windshield and a rear roof arch along an upper edge of a rear windshield. The roof unit is fixed to the front roof arch and the rear roof arch by engaging an axially movable front fixing pin with a pin hole of the front roof arch and engaging an axially movable rear fixing pin with a pin hole of the rear roof arch, and an opening formed in a central part of the roof unit is opened and closed by a canvas that can be unfolded and folded. Accordingly, it is possible to achieve a balance between an open feel of the Targa top vehicle and convenience of simply opening and closing the opening of a roof.
Multi-panel removable roof system
A vehicle removable roof system including a fixed vehicle structure, one or more removable panels configured to engage with the fixed vehicle structure, and a water management system positioned between the one or more removable panels and the fixed vehicle structure. The removable panels may be formed of a composite sandwich panel assembly, which may include an open area core defining pores, a high gloss surface sheet adhered to a first face of the open area core by a first adhesive layer, and a structural skin adhered to a second side of the open area core by a second adhesive layer. The removable panels are configured for installation to and removal from the fixed vehicle structure by a single user and without the use of tools.
