FUEL SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A fuel system for a vehicle includes a fuel tank configured to provide fuel to an engine of the vehicle, a shutoff valve configured to selectively restrict a flow of the fuel along a flow path between the fuel tank and the engine, a temperature sensor configured to monitor a temperature of at least one of the engine of the vehicle or a temperature associated with a body area of the vehicle and provide a temperature signal, and a controller coupled to the temperature sensor and the shutoff valve. The controller is configured to control the shutoff valve to restrict the flow of the fuel in response to the temperature signal indicating a temperature in excess of a temperature threshold.
Hydrogen storage system and flow rate adjusting valve used for same
A hydrogen storage system includes: a first hydrogen tank provided in a fuel cell electric vehicle; a second hydrogen tank provided in the fuel cell electric vehicle and configured to store hydrogen independently of the first hydrogen tank; a manifold provided in the fuel cell electric vehicle and connected to the first hydrogen tank and the second hydrogen tank; a hydrogen supply line configured to connect the manifold and a fuel cell stack provided in the fuel cell electric vehicle; and a flow rate adjusting valve configured to adjust a flow rate of the hydrogen to be supplied to the manifold from at least one of the first hydrogen tank or the second hydrogen tank in accordance with a difference in pressure between the first hydrogen tank and the second hydrogen tank, so as to minimize a difference in pressure between the hydrogen tanks to improve safety and reliability.
DEFUEL PRIORITY PANEL
Systems and methods are provided for a combined defuel and priority panel for a fueling station. The defuel and priority panel is configured to defuel a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle and direct the defueled gas to fuel other CNG vehicles at the panel fueling and defueling site. The defuel and priority panel is also configured to store defueled gas in defuel storage tanks, which can then be used to later fuel CNG vehicles.
ENERGY SOURCE SUPPLY SYSTEMS, ENERGY SOURCE SUPPLY DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
Some embodiments include a system. The system can comprise an energy source supply hub and an energy source supply appliance. The energy source supply hub can comprise a hub energy source supply system and a hub vehicle configured to transport the hub energy source supply system. Further, the hub energy source supply system can comprise a hub energy source supply subsystem configured to receive an energy source. Meanwhile, the energy source supply appliance can comprise an appliance energy source supply system and an appliance vehicle configured to transport the appliance energy source supply system. Further, the appliance energy source supply system can comprise an appliance energy source supply subsystem configured to receive the energy source from the hub energy source supply subsystem and to make available the energy source received to a receiver vehicle. Other embodiments of related systems, devices, and methods also are provided.
Reserve fuel system
A reserve fuel tank retention and control (RTRC) module and a method of operating a vehicle including an engine and a main fuel tank containing a fuel, the method including mounting the RTRC module onto the vehicle; fluidly connecting the RTRC module to the engine and to the main fuel tank; actuating a valve of the RTRC module for a predetermined time to purge moisture in a fuel supply hose into the engine; and upon the main fuel tank becoming empty, actuating the valve to allow fuel from the reserve fuel tank to supply the engine.
Tank Assembly
A tank assembly includes a tank, at least one pressure relief valve, at least one heat transmission path, and at least one heat transmission element. The at least one pressure relief valve is configured to allow a pressure relief of the tank when a temperature threshold value at the pressure relief valve is exceeded. The heat transmission path and the pressure relief valve are connected via the at least one heat transmission element. The heat transmission element is changeable with respect to the heat transmission between the heat transmission path and the pressure relief valve.
High pressure container unit
A high pressure container unit includes a container body configured to store high pressure gas, a case storing the container body inside the case, a pipe connected with the container body and extending to an outside of the case, a closing member that is configured to close the pipe and allow the high pressure gas stored in the container body to be discharged from the pipe when a given condition is satisfied, and a ventilation mechanism that discharges air inside the case to the outside of the case with use of pressure of the discharged high pressure gas when the given condition is satisfied.
SYSTEM FOR SUPPLYING A GASEOUS FUEL
The invention relates to a system for supplying a gaseous fuel that comprises a low temperature tank for receiving the fuel in its liquid aggregate state achieved by cooling and comprises a rail that is fluidically connected to at least one injector device for discharging gaseous fuel into a combustion space. The system is characterized in that it has a pressure store that is configured to receive gaseous fuel and that is fluidically connectable to both the low temperature tank and the rail to buffer fuel coming from the low temperature tank and to supply it to the rail.
High pressure container system and fuel cell vehicle
A high pressure container system is equipped with an upstream side pressure sensor that measures an internal pressure of high pressure containers upstream of a pressure regulating valve, a plurality of downstream side pressure sensors that measure the pressure of the fluid downstream of the pressure regulating valve, and a control device. At a normal time of the downstream side pressure sensors, a control device monitors the internal pressure of the high pressure containers on the basis of the measured values of the downstream side pressure sensors, and at an abnormal time when any one of the downstream side pressure sensors is abnormal, the control device monitors the internal pressure of the high pressure containers on the basis of the measured values of the downstream side pressure sensors, and the measured value of the upstream side pressure sensor.
