Tank assembly with at least one compressible member
A tank assembly includes a tank having a plurality of tank walls surrounding an interior cavity. The interior cavity is configured to store a fluid. The fluid is configured to expand upon a change in temperature. A fill channel and a vent channel are each in fluid communication with the interior cavity. At least one compressible member is positioned within the interior cavity and configured to provide an expansion space for the fluid. The compressible member eliminates the need to be concerned with a loss of air space when filling the tank with low flow rates and when filling on grades. The compressible member may be composed of a closed cell foam material. Alternatively, the compressible member may include a pouch having a hollow space surrounded by an outer skin.
Fuel tank with carbon dioxide storage
A fuel tank and a motor vehicle equipped to recapture, store and recycle atmospheric carbon dioxide is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a vehicle includes a fuel tank which stores carbon dioxide in a same area with the combustible fuel of the vehicle. The fuel tank may include one or more pistons, baffles, bladders, or fixed dividers to separate carbon dioxide storage from fuel storage within a fuel tank area. The fuel tank may share volumetric space between carbon dioxide and fuel within the fuel tank. The fuel tank may be integrally formed into a carbon fiber vehicle body. The fuel tank may be integrally formed into a frame of a vehicle.
Fuel tank structure
A fuel tank structure includes: a fuel tank that is installed in an automobile and that accommodates fuel; a bag-shaped member that is fixed to a ceiling portion of an interior of the fuel tank, and that can inflate and deflate; and a supporting plate that is provided at the bag-shaped member at a position facing a bottom portion of the fuel tank, the supporting plate having a specific gravity that is lower than a specific gravity of the fuel and causing the bag-shaped member to inflate toward the bottom portion of the fuel tank due to a weight of the supporting plate.

FUEL TANK AND INSULATING COMPONENT
Aspects of the present invention relate to a fuel tank for a wheeled vehicle, the fuel tank comprising a fuel container having an outer surface. An insulating component covers at least a portion of the outer surface, the insulating component conforming to a shape of the outer surface that it contacts and covers, the insulating component being configured to reduce, in use, an evaporation rate of fuel within the fuel tank.
