A fuel storage system is disclosed having a fuel tank configured to store a liquid fuel; a controllable pressure source for altering the pressure in an ullage space of the fuel tank; and a controller. The controller is configured to determine a target pressure for the ullage space at a given time based on information relating to a temperature of fuel inside the fuel tank at the given time; and to control the pressure source such as to cause the pressure in the ullage space to be substantially equal to the target pressure.

Fuel tank isolation valve or vehicle
11913566 · 2024-02-27 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a fuel tank isolation valve of a vehicle, wherein the first armature and the second armature are connected in such a manner that there is no clearance therebetween, and a spring compression amount securing groove is formed on the upper surface of the guide. In a preferred finished valve assembly state, the position of the first armature in a valve-off state can be constant, and the movement of the first armature does not significantly occur, thereby noise, vibration, and wear are inhibited or prevented.

Fuel tank pressure regulator

A venting apparatus is provided for regulating discharge of fuel vapor from a fuel tank and admission of outside air into the fuel tank.

Fuel pressure regulator

A fuel pressure regulator includes a housing having a housing bore and a housing inlet; a piston located within the housing bore such that the piston and the housing bore define an accumulation chamber and such that the piston moves between a first piston position where the accumulation chamber is minimized in volume and a second piston position where the accumulation chamber is maximized in volume, the piston having a piston bore with a piston inlet and a piston outlet and a valve seat defined therebetween; a piston spring which biases the piston toward the first piston position; a valve closure which moves between a seated position which prevents fluid communication from the piston inlet to the piston outlet and an unseated position which provides fluid communication from the piston inlet to the piston outlet; and a valve closure spring which biases the valve closure toward the seated position.

The single filling point (310) is configured to receive fuel.

FUEL SUPPLY DEVICE

A fuel supply device includes a valve body and a filter unit accommodating an air filter and a valve cap are attached to a tubular portion provided on a side surface of an inlet pipe. When a fuel tank has a negative pressure, the valve body opens and the negative pressure is eliminated by clean atmospheric air introduction. A projection portion is provided on the filter unit side of the valve body. Accordingly, attachment of the valve body into the tubular portion and attachment of the tubular portion and the filter unit are reliably performed, the reliability of valve body opening and closing is improved, and attachment workability is improved.

HIGH PRESSURE TANK APPARATUS

A high pressure tank of a high pressure tank apparatus includes: a resin-made liner storing a fuel gas to be supplied to a fuel cell; a reinforced layer covering an outer surface of the liner; an inserting member having formed therein a supplying/discharging hole; and a supplying/discharging-side cap having formed therein a supplying/discharging-side lead-out hole. There is a leaked fluid storage section capable of storing a leaked fluid that has leaked from at least a connecting section connecting the supplying/discharging hole and a supplying/discharging flow path. There is a supplying/discharging-side discharge flow path provided independently from the leaked fluid storage section and by which a temporary release fluid that has been led out via the supplying/discharging-side lead-out hole is led to a diluting unit that dilutes an anode off-gas that has been discharged from the fuel cell.

Systems and methods for evaporative emissions leak testing

A method for a fuel system is provided, comprising adjusting a volume of a sealed fuel tank while maintaining spatial compartmentalization of bulk fuel within the sealed fuel tank, and indicating degradation of the sealed fuel tank based on a change in fuel tank pressure. In this way, the fuel tank may be tested for leaks without being unsealed, and without engaging the fuel pump or other elements of the fuel delivery system.

VALVE BODY DEVICE FOR FUEL TANK
20190255937 · 2019-08-22 ·

When a fuel tank inclines, a valve body device for the fuel tank restricts the flow of fuel to the exterior of the fuel tank, thereby preventing environmental pollution and improving fuel consumption. A rise/fall member and a valve body are lowered by an urge force less than a combined weight of the valve body and the rise/fall member, thereby creating an opening in a valve portion. A coil spring expands and the valve body contacts convex portions on a first inner surface of a cylinder main body. After a pressure reduction at a communication port of a resistance member, the fuel flows from a small-diameter space of a blow-up member, so that the flowing fuel pushes up the valve body and the rise/fall member closes the valve portion together with the urge force of the coil spring.

Motor vehicle having a pressure relief device that can be thermally activated, and method for pressure relief

A motor vehicle has a pressure relief device that can be thermally activated, for the pressure relief of at least one pressure vessel. A body floor element is arranged at least partially between the passenger compartment or the cargo area and the pressure vessel. A pressure relief triggering device is designed to directly or indirectly bring about the pressure relief. The pressure relief triggering device is designed to absorb thermal energy from the passenger compartment or the cargo area in order to trigger the pressure relief device, without the thermal energy absorbed for the triggering having previously been transmitted to the pressure relief triggering device through the body floor element.
