Vapor impermeable solenoid for fuel vapor environment
A vapor impermeable solenoid includes an outer housing fabricated from a vapor impermeable material configured to prevent fuel vapor molecules from passing therethrough; windings configured to generate a magnetic flux when energized, a flux collector configured to direct the magnetic flux, a pole piece, and a magnetic armature disposed within the housing and coupled to a seal configured to selectively seal a passage that allows fuel vapor to pass to a purge canister. The magnetic armature is configured to move from a first position to a second position when an electric current is applied to the windings.
EVAPORATED FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE
An evaporated fuel processing device includes a relationship learning unit that, during a learning operation, learns the relationship between a valve opening start amount and a pressure difference. In particular, the relationship learning unit learns this relationship when a valve opening detection unit detects a plurality of different valve opening start amounts and a pressure difference detection unit detects a plurality of different pressure differences. Then, the relationship learning unit creates a relationship map between the valve opening start amount and the pressure difference. The evaporated fuel processing device then corrects the valve opening start amount based on this relationship map.
SEALING VALVE FOR FUEL VAPOR PROCESSING APPARATUS
A valve guide moves back and forth relative to a housing. A valve engages with and slides on the valve guide to open and close a sealing passage of the housing. A valve-side spring is sandwiched between the valve guide and the valve and biases the valve. The valve-side spring has an outer wire portion defining a flat surface at a distal end in an axial direction and that is orthogonal to the axial direction. A pitch between the outer wire portion and an adjacent wire portion adjacent to the outer wire portion is smaller than a pitch between regular wire portions in at least one end of the valve-side spring in the axial direction. The outer wire portion and the adjacent strand portion are in line contact with each other in a circumferential direction.
FUEL SUPPLY VALVE
A fuel supply valve for supplying fuel from a fuel tank to a fuel cell stack includes: a plunger having a hollow therein, a core part disposed on the plunger, and a block part disposed within the hollow to maintain airtightness between the core part and the plunger, and a space in which the airtightness of the hollow has been maintained by the plunger, the core part, and the block part is defined as a pressure chamber.
FUELING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF FUELING
A fueling system for an engine includes a fuel tank, a controller, a fuel nozzle receptacle connected to the fuel tank, the fuel nozzle receptacle including a receptacle sensor configured to send a signal to the contoller indicative of whether a fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in the fuel nozzle receptacle, and an electric fill slop valve between the fuel tank and the fuel nozzle receptacle, the electric fill stop valve being, configured to be controlled to open and close in response to a signal from the controller. The controller can be configured to receive at least one of (a) a signal whether a fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in a fuel nozzle receptacle connected to the fuel tank, and (b) a signal whether a fuel level of the fuel tank is full, and to control the electric fill stop valve to close when a signal is sent to the controller that at least one of (a) the fuel nozzle is not received in the fuel nozzle receptacle when the controller is configured to receive the signal whether the fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in the fuel nozzle receptacle, and (b) the fuel level of the fuel tank is full when the controller is configured to receive the signal whether the fuel level of the fuel tank is full.
Evaporated fuel processing device
An evaporated fuel processing device is configured to collect evaporated fuel from a fuel tank of an internal combustion engine. The evaporated fuel processing device includes the fuel tank, a canister, a tank sealing valve, a switching valve, and a differential pressure sensor. The fuel tank stores fuel for the internal combustion engine. The canister adsorbs evaporated fuel generated in the fuel tank. The switching valve switches between allowing and blocking off communication between the canister and open air. The differential pressure sensor detects a system differential pressure between the pressure on the canister side of the tank sealing valve and the pressure on the fuel tank side of the tank sealing valve in the detection target system.
Fault diagnosis device
When the internal combustion engine is stopped, a pressure reduction pump performs a pressure reduction while a first open/close valve and a second open/close valve are closed. After that, a control unit determines whether a fault occurs in a second purge pipe between the second open/close valve and an intake pipe based on a measured value obtained by an obtaining portion immediately after the second open/close valve is opened.
Electronic venting in a saddle fuel tank
A fuel tank system constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure includes a saddle fuel tank, a control module, a first and second solenoid, and a first and second vent line. The saddle fuel tank can have a first lobe and a second lobe. The first vent line can have a first vent port located in the first lobe of the saddle fuel tank. The first solenoid is configured to open and close the first vent port. The second vent line can have a second vent port located in the second lobe of the saddle fuel tank. The second solenoid is configured to open and close the second vent port. The control module sends a signal to the first and second solenoids to close the first and second vents upon reaching a full fuel condition.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING SADDLE FUEL TANK DEPRESSURIZATION TIME
Methods and systems are provided for increase a rate at which a saddle fuel tank is depressurized responsive to a request for refueling. In one example, a method may include, responsive to the request for refueling, depressurizing a primary side of the saddle fuel tank to a secondary side of the saddle fuel tank, and commanding open a refueling lock coupled to the primary side to allow fuel to be delivered to the primary side when pressure in the primary side drops below a threshold pressure. In this way, the secondary fuel tank may be maintained at atmospheric pressure prior to the request for refueling, which may increase the rate of depressurization of the saddle fuel tank responsive to the request.
FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL
An evaporative emissions control system includes a first vent valve configured to selectively open and close a first vent, a second vent valve configured to selectively open and close a second vent, a fuel level sensor configured to sense a fuel level in the fuel tank, a pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure in the fuel tank, an accelerometer configured to measure an acceleration of the vehicle, and a controller configured to regulate operation of the first and second vent valves to provide pressure relief for the fuel tank. The controller is programmed to determine if a refueling event is occurring based one signals indicating the fuel level is increasing, the pressure in the fuel tank is increasing, and the vehicle is not moving, and open at least one of the first and second vent valves based on determining the refueling event is occurring.
