11170631 · 2021-11-09 ·

A vehicle safety system is for preventing child abandonment in a vehicle. The vehicle safety system may include a controller coupled to a flow sensor, a temperature sensor, and a seat sensor. The controller may be configured to detect when the vehicle is in a fueling state based upon the flow sensor, detect occupancy of a child safety seat based upon the seat sensor, and detect when a driver side door is in an open state based upon a driver side door sensor in the vehicle. The controller may be configured to when the driver side door has entered the open state, when the child safety seat is occupied, and when the vehicle does not enter the fueling state within a time period, then cause the vehicle to enter an alert state.

The controller is configured to determine a damage value based on the detected deformation data when the cylinder endures impact damage. The controller is configured to communicate a notification when the damage value exceeds an impact damage threshold. The system includes a filling controller communicatively coupled to the plurality of sensors. The filling controller is configured to control a valve for filling the cylinder with a fluid. The filling controller is configured to detect damage to the cylinder above a specified threshold as the cylinder is filled with the fluid. The filling controller is configured to automatically perform a safety action when the damage to the cylinder is detected.

VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM
20220388476 · 2022-12-08 ·

A vehicle security system may be automatically activated when a vehicle (e.g., car or truck) is temporarily stopped. Specifically, if a car is stopped at a gas station or other type of temporary stop (e.g., where a car would not be fully closed and locked) the vehicle security system may engage (e.g., based on opening of a gas cap cover). The vehicle security system monitors for theft of contents from inside a vehicle in a temporary stopped state. The vehicle security system may lock different doors based on different conditions. In some cases, only some doors (and not all doors) will be locked. In a temporary stop condition, a vehicle may not be fully locked to engage a standard anti-theft security system. If a driver's attention is diverted during the temporary stopped condition a quick and quiet theft scenario (e.g., a reach and grab) may be attempted.

Fuel reactant leak detection system and method of detecting fuel reactant leaks

A vehicle, a vehicle fuel reactant leak detection system, a computer program product, and a computer implemented method of detecting leakage of a fuel reactant from a vehicle. The vehicle includes one or more fuel cell modules, a fuel supply source to supply a fuel reactant to the one or more fuel cell modules via a high-pressure fuel supply line, a fuel supply valve configured to open and close fuel reactant flow through the high-pressure fuel supply line, and a computing device, operatively connected to the fuel supply source. The computing device includes one or more processors caused to conduct, in response to a detection as sensor data of pressure in the high-pressure fuel supply line when the vehicle engine is in a non-operating state, fuel pressure analysis of the sensor data, and detect, based on the fuel pressure analysis, leakage of the fuel reactant at the fuel supply valve.

Turn off the car when pumping the gas in the gas stations

A motor vehicle includes an engine and a fuel tank having a cap with a first position in which the cap seals the fuel tank and a second position in which the cap does not seal the fuel tank. A sensor detects whether the cap is in the first position or the second position. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the engine and to the sensor. The electronic processor turn offs the engine in response to the sensor detecting that the cap is in the second position.

Apparatus and method for controlling engine start during refueling of hybrid vehicle

An apparatus for controlling an engine start during refueling of a hybrid vehicle includes a controller configured to: stop an engine to block the engine start by sensing whether the vehicle enters into a refueling state in accordance with a fuel injection port open or closed state, a vehicle speed, and brake pedal state (BPS) information, and start the engine to release blocking of the engine start in accordance with a switchover to a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) mode by sensing whether the refueling state has been released in accordance with the fuel injection port open or closed state, the vehicle speed, and acceleration pedal state APS) information.

VEHICLE BODY REAR STRUCTURE

A fuel cell vehicle includes fuel tanks, a first support mechanism, and a restricting member. The fuel tanks are disposed in a vehicle width direction to hare longitudinal directions along a vehicle longitudinal direction. The fuel tanks include first and second fuel tanks. The first fuel tank is provided on an outer side in the vehicle width direction. The second fuel tank is adjacent to the first fuel tank. The second fuel tank has an axial center positioned higher than an axial center of the first fuel tank. In a case where a collision load acts from outside in the vehicle width direction, the first support mechanism supports the fuel tank while allowing the first fuel tank to move toward a lower side of the second fuel tank. The restricting member is provided above the second fuel tank and restricts an upward movement range of the second fuel tank.
