Fuel tank made of thermoplastic material comprising baffle components provided therein in the form of at least one baffle element (2) comprising at least one wall portion (4) which is clamped approximately centrally and/or at the end, so that said wall portion may perform relative movements in relation to the tank, caused by splashing movements of the fuel, at least one fastening foot being provided for the clamping, the base thereof being provided with at least one through-hole, through which the fastening foot is riveted and/or welded to the tank wall (2).
Operating fluid container having a stiffening element
The present invention discloses an operating fluid container (10) made of thermoplastic material for a motor vehicle and a method for equipping an operating fluid container with a stiffening element (20). The operating fluid container (10) here has the following features: the operating fluid container (10) has a container opening (12) which is arranged in a container wall (11) and is edged by a surround (13); the operating fluid container (10) comprises at least one fastening device (15), which is arranged in the operating fluid container (10) and is connected to a container base (14) located opposite the container opening (12); the operating fluid container (10) further comprises a stiffening element (20), which is connectable and/or connected to a closure element (22) for closing the container opening (12) and is connectable to the fastening device (15); and the stiffening element (20) which is fastened to the container base (14) by means of the fastening device (15) and to the container wall by means of the closure element (22) counteracts deformation caused by the internal pressure of the operating fluid container (10).
Pressure vessel assembly and pressure vessel protector
A pressure vessel assembly including a pressure vessel including a cylinder part and a first side part and a second side part, the first side part and the second side part each having a dome shape and being provided at two opposite ends of the cylinder part, nozzle members respectively provided on the first side part and the second side part, and a plurality of protectors connected to the nozzle members and configured to surround a respective outer surface of the first side part or the second side part.
Fuel Tank Floating Suction Line
Embodiments of a fluid tank may comprise suction tube system that comprises a floating suction tube useful for filling or removing a fluid from the tank. Further in some embodiments, the tank system may be installed in a single port on the fluid tank. A buoyant portion of the suction tube can be constantly submerged in a desired portion of the fluid, allowing the desired fluid to be removed through the inlet port. A level indicator system may include a cable system connected between a biased level indicator that moves in conjunction with the movement of the buoyant portion to indicate the fluid level.
Fill-up restriction valve
There is provided a fill-up restriction valve including: a housing; and a float valve. The housing includes a housing body including a body-side peripheral wall, and a lower cap including a cap-side peripheral wall, the lower cap being installed to a lower side of the housing body by a joint portion. The joint portion includes an annular groove, an insertion wall portion, and an annular protrusion formed on one of the insertion wall portion and the annular groove, or an annular seal member disposed between the insertion wall portion and the annular groove. The annular protrusion or the annular seal member is configured to be in pressure-contact with the annular groove and the insertion wall portion in a state where the insertion wall portion is inserted into the annular groove.
Filler pipe and vehicle fuel filler port structure
A filler pipe is attached to a retainer that holds a fuel nozzle holder. The retainer includes: a first attaching portion attached to an inlet portion of the filler pipe; a holding portion having an engaging hole; and an opening positioned at a first end of the retainer, which is closer to a longitudinal center of the filler pipe than a second end is. The fuel nozzle holder includes: a second attaching portion and including an engaging piece that engages the engaging hole; and a main body extending from the second attaching portion toward the longitudinal center of the filler pipe. The engaging piece is surrounded at three sides by a groove having a U-shape. The engaging piece is connected to the second attaching portion on the main body-side. The holding portion extends toward the longitudinal center of the filler pipe to cover the groove.
Servicable draw and return tube assembly
A serviceable draw and return tube assembly for use in fuel tanks is disclosed. The assembly may include a draw tube and a return tube secured to a plate, wherein the plate may be removably secured to a flange, which is fixedly secured to a fuel tank. The process of removably securing the plate to the flange allows for use of different sizes and materials to be utilized in manufacture of the assembly, thereby saving installation time and manufacturing costs.
Method of manufacturing fuel tank and fuel tank
A method of manufacturing a fuel tank includes: an introducing process in which a molten resin sheet formed with a tank body is introduced in a forming mold; a shaping process in which a movable member abuts against the molten resin sheet to form a molten resin projection projected in a thickness direction of the molten resin sheet; an arranging process in which the molten resin projection is inserted in an attachment hole provided in an attachment part, and the attachment part is arranged on the molten resin sheet; and a machining process in which the molten resin projection is pressurized by a pressurizing member, so as to bulge out a portion of the molten resin projection to an outer peripheral side.
Methods and apparatus to provide a protective barrier to fuel tank coupling apparatus
Methods and apparatus to provide a protective barrier to fuel tank coupling apparatus are described. An example method includes coupling a barrier to an outer surface of the fuel tank, where the barrier includes a support surface and a wall protruding from the support surface to define a cavity; providing a weld pad within the cavity such that a first side of the weld pad engages the support surface; disposing a valve within the cavity of the barrier after the barrier is coupled to the outer surface such that a flange portion of the valve engages the weld pad and at least a portion of the valve is positioned in the fuel tank; and heating the weld pad and the flange portion of the valve to a temperature greater than a melting temperature of a material of the flange portion and the weld pad.
