Quick connector with a replaceable restriction orifice
Female quick couplings have a housing defining an axial bore therethrough that has a frustum-shaped bore portion that defines a restriction orifice, a first slot transverse to the axial bore, an a first shoulder between the first slot and the restriction orifice, and a locking member slidingly received in the first slot. The frustum-shaped bore can have an upstream conical frustum and a downstream conical frustum mated at their respective smaller diameter. The upstream conical frustum has a largest diameter that is larger than a largest diameter of the downstream conical frustum. Engine systems incorporating the female quick coupling and female quick coupling kits are also disclosed.
Fuel tank system
A fuel tank system is obtained, in which internal pressure does not readily increase and in which there is no need to secure a space for deformation at the periphery of the fuel tank. A vapor pipe is connected to a fuel tank, and an atmosphere release pipe is connected through a canister. An electromagnetic valve is attached to the vapor pipe, communicating a gas layer at an upper portion inside the fuel tank with the external atmosphere by opening the electromagnetic valve. A thinned deformation location capable of indentation-deformation towards the inside is provided at an upper wall portion of the fuel tank. A negative pressure pump is provided to reduce the pressure inside the fuel tank, causing the deformation location to indentation-deform towards the inside. The fuel tank is sealed by closing the electromagnetic valve in a state in which the deformation location is indentation-deformed towards the inside.
VAPORIZED FUEL PROCESSING APPARATUS
In a vaporized fuel processing apparatus in which fuel vapor within a fuel tank is adsorbed by a canister, the adsorbed vaporized fuel is drawn to an engine, a closing valve is provided connecting the fuel tank and the canister for controlling communication between the fuel tank and the canister, and a purge valve is provided connecting the canister and the engine for controlling communication between the canister and the engine. The vaporized fuel processing apparatus includes an internal pressure sensor configured to detect a pressure of a space within the fuel tank as an internal pressure, and a closing valve control means configured to open the closing valve for supplying an atmospheric pressure to the fuel tank via the canister when the sensor detects that the internal pressure of the fuel tank is negative, while the purge valve is closed. Therefore, the air/fuel ratio is prevented from being disturbed.
Latchable valve and method for operation of the latchable valve
A fuel system is provided, including a fuel tank isolation valve comprising an actuation coil and a latchable valve shaft at least partially disposed within the actuation coil. A controller may be configured to indicate a position of the valve shaft based on a measured current-voltage relationship between the first and second terminal wires during a condition in which the magnetic field generated by actuation coil current has a flux density below a threshold required to adjust a position of the latchable valve shaft. In this way, the position of the latchable valve shaft may be indicated without moving the valve shaft, and without requiring a dedicated valve position sensor.
Fuel adsorption device and evaporated fuel processing apparatus including the same
A fuel adsorption device may include a case and a heater. The case may be metal and may have a multi-cylindrical shape. The case may accommodate a plurality of adsorbents configured to at least one of adsorb and desorb evaporated fuel. The case may include a cylindrical first wall part, at least one cylindrical second wall part disposed further inward than the first wall part, and a plurality of connection parts connecting the first wall part and the at least one second wall part to one other. A first adsorbent of the plurality of adsorbents may be arranged in a first space disposed between the first wall part and the second wall part. A second adsorbent of the plurality of adsorbents may be arranged in a second space disposed further inward than the second wall part. The heater may be disposed on an outer surface of the first wall part.
VAPORIZED FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE
A vaporized fuel processing device includes a fuel tank storing fuel used for an internal combustion engine, a pressurizing portion performing a pressurizing process to increase an inner pressure of the fuel tank by supplying gas from outside to inside the fuel tank, and a controller controlling an operation of the pressurizing portion. The controller controls the pressurizing portion to perform the pressurizing process and to keep the inner pressure of the fuel tank at or above a predetermined pressure value at which vaporized fuel is prevented from flowing out of the fuel tank, except for a time of fueling of the fuel tank.
Fuel vapor treatment apparatus
A fuel vapor treatment apparatus is provided with a fuel tank for storing fuel of an internal combustion engine, a canister for adsorbing fuel vapor generated in the fuel tank, a pump for reducing a pressure inside a detection target system including the fuel tank, a pressure detection sensor for detecting the pressure inside the detection target system, and a fluctuation detection unit for detecting a fluctuation width of the pressure inside the detection target system at the time when the pressure inside the detection target system is reduced to a predetermined pressure value.
Thermal insulation of a membrane module for mitigating evaporative fuel emissions of automobiles
A thermal insulation system for mitigating evaporative fuel emissions of an automobile may include a membrane component and a thermal component connected to the membrane component. The thermal component may be configured for condensing, in the membrane component or in the thermal component, fuel vapor generated from a fuel tank of an automobile.
ACTIVE DRAIN LIQUID TRAP FOR FUEL SYSTEM
An active drain liquid trap configured for use with a fuel tank system and constructed in accordance to one example of the present disclosure includes a trap body, a float and a pilot. The trap body defines a first inlet, a second inlet and an outlet. The first inlet is fluidly connected to a fuel pump. The second inlet is fluidly connected to a vapor line. The float is rotatably mounted about a float pivot. The pilot moves between an open and closed position. Rotation of the float causes the pilot to be urged into an open position and fluid to be drained from the trap body through the outlet.
