Horizontal shaft fuel tank cap with charcoal canister
The horizontal shaft fuel tank cap with charcoal canister includes a fuel tank inner cap and fuel tank outer cap. A hollow room with an upper opening is disposed in the center of the fuel tank inner cap. The fuel tank outer cap is disposed above the fuel tank inner cap. The ventilating pipe is disposed in the hollow room and divides the hollow room into filling room and containing room. The first air outlet leading the fuel vapor to the containing room is disposed on the bottom of the containing room. The second air outlets are disposed in the center of the ventilating pipe. The fuel-absorption substrate is disposed in the filling room. The residuary fuel is drained into the fuel tank under negative pressure of the fuel tank. The filtering performance of charcoal powder can be enhanced since it is exempted from long-time fuel soaking.
Motorcycle with pivotable fuel tank
A motorcycle includes an internal combustion engine, a frame, a fuel tank for carrying a fuel to be consumed by the internal combustion engine, and a container connected to the internal combustion engine and the fuel tank. The container is configured to store fuel evaporating from the fuel tank, and the container in a position of use is at least partially covered by the fuel tank. The fuel tank is supported pivotably relative to the frame between a maintenance position and the position of use.
Liquid trap with integral jet pump
An assembly is provided that integrates a jet pump with a liquid trap to drain liquid fuel from vapor flow, such as vapor vented from a fuel tank. The assembly includes a housing that has a liquid trap configured to trap liquid carried in vapor flowing through the housing. A jet pump has a venturi nozzle and is in selective fluid communication with the liquid trap so that liquid flow through the venturi nozzle induces draining of the liquid trap.
Leakage Diagnosis In A Fuel Tank System
The present disclosure relates to internal combustion engines and its teachings may be applied to methods for leakage diagnosis in a fuel tank system. A method for diagnosing leakage may include: closing a fresh air line and a hydrocarbon/air mixture line connected to the fuel tank; measuring a first pressure change in the fuel tank system over a predefined first time interval; opening the fresh air line; operating the purge air pump until a predefined excess pressure is reached; closing the fresh air line; measuring a second pressure change over a predefined second time interval; and comparing the pressure changes to diagnose a leakage in the fuel tank system.
FUEL TANK PRESSURE REGULATOR
A tank venting system in accordance with the present disclosure includes a vent apparatus for regulating flow of fuel vapor between a fuel tank and a fuel vapor recovery system in a vehicle. The flow of fuel vapor is controlled to maintain the pressure of fuel vapor in the fuel tank at a certain pressure level or within a certain pressure range during different modes of use.
ADSORBENT, CANISTER, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ADSORBENT
An object of the present invention is to provide an adsorbent and a canister which can improve adsorption performance and purge performance. An adsorbent 10 to be packed in a canister includes: a cylindrical outer wall 10A, and a plurality of ribs 10B for partitioning along an axis of the outer wall 10A into a plurality of cells, wherein the thickness da of the outer wall 10A and the thickness dβ of the ribs 10B is less than 0.6 mm, the thickness of at least either of the outer wall 10A and the ribs 10B exceeds 0.4 mm, the outer diameter D of the outer wall 10A is 3.5 mm or more and 40 mm or less, a BWC exceeds 3.0 g/dL, and
purge efficiency((amount of butane adsorbed−amount of butane retained)/amount of butane adsorbed) is more than 0.86 or more.
DRAINING ARRANGEMENT
A draining arrangement comprising a pipe segment (12) having an aperture (14) defined by circumferential wall portion (16) and a draining tube (20) having an insertion end (22) configured to be introduced into said aperture and to engage said circumferential wall portion such that the circumferential wall portion is slightly bent inwardly, thereby sealingly engaging the insertion end, the insertion end includes a bore (24) providing fluid communication between the pipe segment and the draining tube, and a cutaway (25) configured to allow fluid from the pipe segment to enter the bore.
Method for diagnosing sealing in a fuel vapour recirculation system and related recirculation system
Disclosed is a method for diagnosing sealing in a fuel vapor recirculation system for an engine of a motor vehicle. An electronic module is integrated into the engine control unit that is woken up and placed on standby periodically while the engine is off, at the start and end of time intervals in order to perform a respective leak diagnosis, the fuel vapor temperature Tsys being estimated as a function of a time t ending at the start of each interval and starting when the engine is switched off according to the following equation, in which Tamb is the ambient temperature measured, Tsys0 is the fuel vapor temperature when the vehicle is switched off, and tsys is a system response time:
Tsys(t)=Tamb+(Tsys0−Tamb)e.sup.−t/tsys.
ELECTRONIC FUEL TANK SYSTEM HAVING CAM ACTUATED VENTING WITH CANISTER LINE ISOLATION
An evaporative emissions control system configured to recapture and recycle emitted fuel vapor on a vehicle fuel tank is provided. The control system includes a first and second vent line disposed in the fuel tank, a first and second vent valve, a vent shut-off assembly, a purge canister and a control module. The vent shut-off assembly selectively opens and closes the first and second valves to provide overpressure and vacuum relief for the fuel tank. The control module regulates operation of the vent shut-off assembly based on operating conditions to vent the first and second vent valves to the purge canister. The vehicle fuel tank comprises a saddle tank having first and second lobes and a raised portion arranged generally at a top portion of the fuel tank. The first vent valve is arranged generally in the first lobe and the second vent valve is arranged in the raised portion.
APPARATUS FOR PURGING FUEL EVAPORATION GAS IN FUEL SYSTEM
An apparatus is provided for purging fuel evaporation gas in a fuel system. The apparatus increases an amount of fuel evaporation gas that is desorbed from a canister during driving of an engine, and thus prevents fuel evaporation gas adsorbed to the canister from being discharged to the atmosphere.
