Closure system
The invention relates to a closure system on a fuel tank (2) of thermoplastics with barrier properties for hydrocarbons. The closure system comprises at least one orifice (4), with a closure cap (5) which closes the orifice (4) in a sealing manner and which cooperates in a form-fitting manner with closure means provided at the circumference of the orifice (4) and encloses at least one first sealing means between it and a tank wall (3). The closure system (1) according to the invention is distinguished in that the tank wall is sealed in the region of the orifice (4) with at least one second sealing means, which covers and/or shields a part of the tank wall surfaces exposed to hydrocarbons.
Vehicle security system
A vehicle security system may be automatically activated when a vehicle (e.g., car or truck) is temporarily stopped. Specifically, if a car is stopped at a gas station or other type of temporary stop (e.g., where a car would not be fully closed and locked) the vehicle security system may engage (e.g., based on opening of a gas cap cover). The vehicle security system monitors for theft of contents from inside a vehicle in a temporary stopped state. Sensors monitor if a passerby reaches into an open (or partially open) window to grab a parcel, handbag, phone, etc. from inside the vehicle. In a temporary stop condition, a vehicle may not be fully locked to engage a standard anti-theft security system. If a driver's attention is diverted away from the vehicle during the temporary stopped condition a quick and quiet theft scenario (e.g., a reach and grab) may be attempted.
Nonspill fuel filler adapter
A fuel filler adapter has a hollow body having a base end with a flange extending outwardly therefrom, and a forward end, and has a length of between 0.5 inch and 2.5 inches. A bore extends through the body at an angle of between 2.5° and 15° so that the adapter can be fitted onto a fuel nozzle. Fueling spitback is prevented by a helical fuel path which does not block air from venting from a fuel tank. Air venting from the fuel tank exits through the fuel filler adapter via one or more venting channels.
Diesel exhaust fluid cap assembly for vehicle and diesel exhaust fluid supply system including the same
A diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) cap assembly for a vehicle includes: a body having a first opening and a second opening arranged at an opposite side of the first opening, the second opening configured to be opened and closed; a flange portion protruding radially outward between the first opening and the second opening of the body, and having a plurality of through holes and a flange gasket configured to be sealably coupled to a mounting subject on which the flange portion is mounted; and a membrane member coupled to the flange portion, and configured to cover the plurality through holes and allow air flow.
Cap-free neck end for a filler neck
A cap-free closable neck end for a filler neck of a tank of a motor vehicle, the cap-free closeable neck including an upper entry space forming an insertion region for a fuel nozzle and being surrounded by a side wall, a lower sealing flap arranged in the upper entry space and closing mechanism arranged above the lower sealing flap. The closing mechanism includes an upper filling opening and an upper cover, which in a closed state at least partially covers the upper filling opening and being embodied in such a manner that the upper cover is displaced by inserting an outlet pipe of a fuel nozzle into the upper entry space for releasing the upper filling opening so as to allow for the insertion of the outlet pipe through the upper filing opening and the lower sealing flap. When used for forming a protection against a filling with unsuitable fuel, the upper cover, in its closed state, is blocked by a locking element and wherein the locking element is embodied in such a manner that it is unlocked as a function of a type-specific shape of the outlet pipe of the fuel nozzle, only when the tank is filled with suitable fuel.
Capless refueling system cleaning using engine vacuum
Methods and systems for cleaning a capless refueling system in a vehicle are disclosed. In one example approach, a method comprises, in response to a leak detected following a refueling event, cleaning the capless refueling system using engine vacuum.
Oil filler cap and saddle riding type vehicle
In an oil filler cap, a valve part of a valve device is arranged in a range between a lower end of a screw part that is screwed to an oil filler opening part in a cap body and a seal surface that is arranged at a higher position than the screw part, a ventilation passage part is arranged above the valve part, and a ratchet mechanism is arranged on an outer circumferential side of the ventilation passage part.
FUEL CAP AND SPRING ASSEMBLY
The present invention provides a fuel cap including a body and a spring positioned on the body that inhibits unintended removal of the cap from a fuel filler neck, the spring secured on the cap by a cam pin that is used to secure the cap on the cam ramp of a fuel filler neck.
Fuel tank cap with charcoal canister
The fuel tank cap with a charcoal canister includes a fuel tank inner cap and a fuel tank outer cap. A filling room with an upper opening is disposed in the center of the fuel tank inner cap. The fuel tank outer cap is disposed above the fuel tank inner cap. The fuel-absorption substrate is filled in the filling room, and a containing room is disposed at the bottom of the filling room. The fuel vapor can be absorbed by the filled charcoal completely, and the little liquid fuel entering from the fuel tank can be stored by the containing room and recycled back to the fuel tank when the gasoline engine stops. The filtering performance of charcoal powder can be enhanced since it is exempted from long-time fuel soaking.
Tank and filler tube device with protective arrangement
A tank defines an inner cavity and at least an opening. A filler tube device comprises a tube passing through the opening in the tank, the tube forming a joint with at least one degree of freedom with the tank such that the tube is displaceable relative to the tank. The tube has an open end in the inner cavity of the tank, and an opposite open end outside of the tank, whereby the tube defines a passage for filling the tank. A sealing component is in the inner cavity of the tank, the sealing component configured for collaborating with the open end of the tube when the tube is moved into engagement therewith to close the open end of the tube inside the tank in a protective position.
