INJECTION-MOLDING METHOD AND LIQUID CONTAINER FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

An injection-molding method for manufacturing a half-shell of a liquid container for a motor vehicle, comprising the following steps: providing a barrier film in a cavity of an injection-molding tool, the cavity being provided for the purpose of shaping the half-shell; providing a barrier sleeve in the cavity; injecting plasticized injection-molding material into the cavity, wherein plasticized injection-molding material is sprayed onto the barrier film and/or the barrier film is back-injected with plasticized injection-molding material; and wherein the barrier sleeve is back-injected with plasticized injection-molding material and/or overmolded with plasticized injection-molding material to form a connection element of the half-shell.

Vehicle capless refueling system

A capless refueling port attached to a fuel tank of a vehicle is presented. In one example, the capless refueling port includes a main opening, an articulating unitary plug mounted within a nozzle chamber of the fuel port, and a drain tube. The articulating plug is configured to partially or fully close an inlet of the drain tube connected to the fuel port during refueling; the articulating plug is further adjusted to open after refueling, allowing the fuel port to dissipate any residual pressure in the nozzle chamber to the atmosphere.

A saddle riding vehicle includes: a fuel tank supported by a body frame; a filler opening provided in an upper surface of the fuel tank; a tank cover covering the upper surface of the fuel tank; and a fuel sump collecting fuel overflowing from the filler opening. The saddle riding vehicle includes a shroud covering a side surface of the fuel tank. The fuel sump is placed around the filler opening and under the tank cover. The fuel sump includes a drain pipe discharging fuel downward. The drain pipe extends between the tank cover and the shroud.

A transport refrigeration system (200) comprising: a vehicle (102) having a refrigerated cargo space (119); a refrigeration unit (22) in operative association with the refrigerated cargo space, the refrigeration unit providing conditioned air to the refrigerated cargo space; a first engine (26) configured to power the refrigeration unit; a plurality of first fuel tanks (330) fluidly connected to the first engine, the plurality of first fuel tanks configured to supply fuel to the first engine, wherein each of the plurality of first fuel tanks includes a lock off valve (450) and a pressure sensor (470) configured to detect a pressure level within each of the first fuel tanks; and one or more engine controllers (54) in electronic communication with each pressure sensor and lock off valve, the one or more engine controllers being configured to adjust at least one of the lock off valves in response to a pressure level detected by at least one of the pressure sensors.

FUEL FILL OPENING STRUCTURE FOR FUEL TANK
20200156465 · 2020-05-21 ·

A fuel fill opening structure for a fuel tank includes a fuel filler pipe, a fuel fill opening, and a flow guide. The flow guide includes a main guide wall which partitions a fuel introduction region inside the fuel filler pipe into an upper space communicating with a tank main body side and a lower space communicating with the fuel fill opening side, and a partition wall provided to be continuous with the main guide wall and configured to close a space between an upper surface side of the main guide wall and an inner surface of the fuel filler pipe. The main guide wall includes a bent inclined part that is bent and inclined downward from a middle portion in running from the fuel fill opening side toward the tank main body side. The bent inclined part has a shape in which a width thereof becomes smaller when viewed from above as it inclines downward.

Fuel lid opener

A fuel lid opener-has: a heart cam mechanism that is structured so as to, each time a lifter is push-operated via a fuel lid, cause the lifter to alternately repeat advancing-out and withdrawing, and so as to push the fuel lid open due to advancing-out of the lifter; and a locking mechanism-that can restrict operation of the heart cam mechanism. At the locking mechanism, a time when a stopper is moved by operation of a motor, and the aforementioned restricting is released, the aforementioned stopper engages with the heart cam mechanism and operates the heart cam mechanism. Due thereto, the lifter advances-out, and the fuel lid is pushed open.

FUELING DEVICE

A channel forming member is attached to a filler neck on a nozzle insertion side where a fueling nozzle is to be inserted. The channel forming member includes a barrier section that forms an insertion flow path section for the fueling nozzle in the fuel flow path on the nozzle insertion side, while forming an annular channel surrounding the insertion flow path section so as to separate the channel from the insertion flow path section. The channel forming member further includes the following provided to the barrier section: an atmosphere communication hole for making the channel communicate with the atmosphere; a flow path communication hole for making the channel communicate with an insertion end flow path section downstream from the insertion flow path section; and a valve mechanism that prevents passage of the atmosphere through the channel in a fueling period. This contributes to reduction in introduction of the atmosphere into the fuel flow path through the channel in a fueling period.

Vehicle Fuel Tank Assembly
20200101837 · 2020-04-02 ·

A vehicle fuel tank assembly includes a fuel tank and an electrically conductive top plate that closes and seals a fuel-fill opening in the fuel tank. The top plate includes electrical dissipation structures and features that allow for electrical charge dissipation of the fuel tank to an external structure such as the vehicle chassis. The dissipation structures include an electrically insulative carrier that is partially embedded in the top plate using an overmolding process, and an electrical conductor that is supported by the carrier. The electrical conductor provides an electrical connection between the top plate and the chassis that is independent of the fuel tank and the fuel tank mounting structure.
