A safety device is provided for motorcycle riders, including a safety helmet and a camera device which is situated on the safety helmet, the safety helmet having a facial area in which the face of a user of the safety helmet is situated when used as intended. It is provided that the camera device is situated on the safety helmet in such a way that it at least partially detects the facial area, the camera device being connected to at least one warning device which outputs a warning as a function of data collected by the camera device.

A system detects a lack of vigilance by a driver of a motor vehicle. The system includes a first monitoring unit to assess whether the vigilance of the driver is or is not above a vigilance threshold, at least two distinct loudspeakers, and a sound stage generator to control the at least two loudspeakers so as to simulate a stereophonic sound originating from a virtual sound source that is mobile relative to a seat of the driver when the vigilance of the driver becomes less than the vigilance threshold.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MONITORING FATIGUED DRIVING
A method and device for monitoring fatigued driving. The device comprises a processor, a monitoring unit an alarm unit and an inflating unit connected to the processor. The processor is used to obtain a monitor result, transmit, according to the monitor result, an alarm instruction to the alarm unit, and transmit an air inflation instruction to inflating unit upon obtaining the monitor result again after transmitting the alarm instruction. The monitor unit is used to monitor, in real time, a driving state of the driver, and transmit data indicating the driving state of the driver; the alarm unit (12) is used to receive the alarm instruction, and provide the alarm according to the alarm instruction; and the inflating unit is used to receive the air inflation instruction, and fill air according to the air inflation instruction.
A CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A control system for a vehicle comprises one or more controllers (106, 108) and is configured to receive an occupant status signal (103) indicative of an ability of an occupant of the vehicle to take control of the vehicle, receive a communication signal (105) indicative of a status of a communication channel, determine whether the occupant is able to take control of the vehicle in dependence on the received occupant status signal (103), determine the availability of the communication channel in dependence on the communication signal (105), and output a control signal (107, 109) to cause operation of the vehicle to be controlled in dependence on the determination of whether the occupant is able to take control of the vehicle and the determination of the availability of the communication channel.

A vehicular awakening detection device 10 includes pressure sensors 48 provided in a + side paddle shift 46R and/or a − side paddle shift 46L which is able to be operated by a driver in a vehicle. The pressure sensor 48 is used for determining the degrees of awakening of a driver by making the driver to operate the + side paddle shift 46R and/or the − side paddle shift 46L.

Methods and apparatus for monitoring fatigue and notifying an individual are described. The individual may be an operator of a vehicle, equipment, or machine, a student, or other person that may experience fatigue. Motion of the individual is monitored to detect a predescribed motion in response to a stimulus to first determine a base responsiveness profile. Afterwards, a current responsiveness profile is determined based on a prescribed motion in response to a stimulus, and if the current responsiveness profile exceeds a predetermined threshold of the base responsiveness profile, a notification is issued to the individual and, optionally, another person such as an employer, teacher, or parent.

A vehicle operation assistance device is provided with: a visual line range determination unit that determines whether a recognition range including a visual line range of an operator of a mobile body corresponds to either an operation panel range to be operated or an external-environment checking range; a vigilance calculation unit that calculates alertness and attentiveness of the operator on the basis of at least movement of the operator's visual line; and a control unit that controls on-board devices of the mobile body on the basis of the recognition range and at least one of the alertness and attentiveness.
