Electronic meter cluster for a vehicle

An electronic meter cluster system for a vehicle. The system includes a display screen and a meter control module configured to control the display screen. For example, the meter control module is configured to control the display screen to display a meter for conveying information to a driver of the vehicle, the meter including numerals and a pointer needle. The meter control module arranges the needle relative to the numerals to convey information to the driver. Based on a change in the information being conveyed to the driver, the meter control module is configured to modify at least one of sharpness of the numerals, size of the numerals, one or more colors of the display, brightness of the needle, and length of the needle.

A combination meter including a first meter and a second meter, which are visible from a front side, and a half-silvered mirror disposed in front of the combination meter and having semi-transparent property are provided. Also, an image output device displays an image toward the half-silvered mirror is provided. The half-silvered mirror reflects the image displayed by the image output device to display a virtual image in front of the meter. Thus, the virtual image is overlappedly displayed with respect to the combination meter, whereby a use intuitively recognizes high priority information.

A display device displays a plurality of display elements having respective densities that continuously change in a first direction (an X direction), in such an arrangement that the display elements constitute a pointer needle and the densities continuously change in a second direction (a Y direction) intersecting the first direction, thereby displaying the pointer needle on a display section. This provides a display device with improved stereoscopic vision of the pointer needle.

GLARE AND OCCLUDED VIEW COMPENSATION FOR AUTOMOTIVE AND OTHER APPLICATIONS

Often when there is a glare on a display screen the user may be able to mitigate the glare by tilting or otherwise moving the screen or changing their viewing position. However, when driving a car there are limited options for overcoming glares on the dashboard, especially when you are driving for a long distance in the same direction. Embodiments are directed to eliminating such glare. Other embodiments are related to mixed reality (MR) and filling in occluded areas.

Display device for a motor vehicle

A display device for a motor vehicle having at least one annular gauge (1) and a display panel (2) having a display surface (20) intended to be oriented toward the inside of a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The device comprises a transparent pane (4) positioned facing the display surface (20) and serving as a support for the annular gauge (1).

Method and system for driver assistance in a vehicle

Method and system for driver assistance in a vehicle; the current value of a driving variable correlated with the driving of the vehicle is determined; an optimal value of the driving variable in the future and after a given amount of time has elapsed since the current instant starting from the current state of the vehicle is determined and supposing an excellent action upon the driving controls of the vehicle; an expected value of the driving variable in the future and after the given amount of time has elapsed since the current instant starting from the current state of the vehicle is determined and supposing a constant action upon the driving controls of the vehicle; and the current value, the expected value and the optimal value of the driving variable are displayed together in an instrument of the instrument panel of the vehicle.

A dashboard display of a vehicle includes a display panel having a speed display area that outputs a speed range of the vehicle at a first speed interval and an event display area that outputs an event information, a needle for indicating a current speed of the vehicle by rotating to thereby point to a corresponding position along the displayed speed range, and a controller that is configured to, when one or more preset conditions of the vehicle being satisfied, change a boundary of the speed display area from a first speed display area within the display panel to a second speed display area within the display panel that is different from the first speed display area.

METHOD FOR DISPLAYING GRAPHICAL DATA ON AN ELECTRONIC DISPLAY

An electronic data processor is configured to determine the display mode based on user input comprising user-inputted control states, user-inputted actuator states and machine-provided sensor states provided by reading a vehicle data bus or sensor data communication. In a first mode, the electronic data processor is configured to populate the tell-tale container of a first size with primary priority icons and secondary priority icons. In the second mode, the electronic data processor is configured to populate the critical ribbon container of a second size solely with primary priority icons, where the first size is greater than the second size by a first size difference, and populating an app container in the second residual container with an application. Further, the electronic data processor is configured to display the populated tell-tale container in the first mode in conjunction with the first residual container or the populated critical ribbon in the second mode in conjunction with the second residual container responsive based on the determination of the display mode, wherein the first residual container is resized into the second residual container of greater size than the first residual information.
