Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to generate a vehicle communication system. The vehicle communication system can determine which devices are within the vehicle. From this determination, the vehicle communication system may create a universal bus and hotspot where applications, data, multimedia information, and resources can be shared both with the vehicle and with the other devices in the vehicle.

Vehicle middleware

The present disclosure describes a vehicle implementing one or more processing modules. These modules are configured to connect and interface with the various buses in the vehicle, where the various buses are connected with the various components of the vehicle to facilitate information transfer among the vehicle components. Each processing module is further modularized with the ability to add and replace other functional modules now or in the future. These functional modules can themselves act as distinct vehicle components. Each processing modules may hand-off processing to other modules depending on its health, processing load, or by third-party control. Thus, the plurality of processing modules helps to implement a middleware point of control to the vehicle with redundancy in processing and safety and security awareness in their applications.

A vehicle includes a display for providing a character input interface, a touch input apparatus for sensing a plurality of sub gestures sequentially through a touch portion, and a controller for controlling the character input interface to display, when a difference between a direction of a first sub gesture of the plurality of sensed sub gestures and a direction of a second sub gesture sensed within a first delay time period starting at a time at which the first sub gesture ends is greater than or equal to a reference direction difference, a character corresponding to a gesture including the first sub gesture and the second sub gesture.

VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A touch input device for a vehicle is disclosed. The touch input device is installed next to the driver seat, and configured to receive the driver's touch input. In response to a series of gestures on the touch input device, a computing system of the vehicle analyzes the series of gestures and identifies at least one character corresponding to the gestures. The computing system identifies a group of input gestures, identifies at least one character corresponding to the group of input gestures, and prompts the identified character on a display for the driver's correction.

Methods and systems for a complete vehicle ecosystem are provided. Specifically, systems that when taken alone, or together, provide an individual or group of individuals with an intuitive and comfortable vehicular environment. The present disclosure includes a system to recognize the drivers and/or passengers within the automobile. Based on the recognition, the vehicle may change a configuration of the automobile to match predetermined preferences for the driver and/or passenger. The configurations may also include the recognition of a unique set of gestures for the person. Further, the configuration can also include the tracking of health data related to the person.

Touch input device, vehicle including the touch input device, and method for controlling the touch input device

A touch input device includes: a protrusion unit that protrudes from a mounting surface, includes an outer surface portion provided on an outer surface of the protrusion unit, and is configured to receive a touch input; and a recessed unit formed inside the protrusion unit. The outer surface portion is configured to receive a touch input in a protrusion direction of the protrusion unit and in an opposite direction to the protrusion direction of the protrusion unit.

A vehicle having a touch recognition function includes a touch pad recognizing a writing signal in a touch form input by a user. A display displays a touch trace corresponding to the writing signal recognized by the touch pad. A controller is configured to calculate writing coordinates of the writing signal, to obtain a writing recognition load by analyzing a touch trace speed of the calculated writing coordinates, and to increase a processing priority of a writing recognition task among service tasks within the vehicle when the obtained writing recognition load is greater than or equal to a reference value.
