State-Based Autonomous-Vehicle Operations
20190250002 · 2019-08-15 ·

The present disclosure is directed to state-based autonomous-vehicle operations. In particular, the methods, devices, and systems of the present disclosure can: determine, based at least in part on one or more actions of a passenger associated with a trip of an autonomous vehicle, a current state of the trip from amongst a plurality of different predefined states of the trip; identify, based at least in part on the current state of the trip, one or more computing devices associated with the passenger; generate, based at least in part on the current state of the trip, data describing one or more interfaces for display by the computing device(s) associated with the passenger; and communicate, to the computing device(s) associated with the passenger, the data describing the interface(s) for display.

METHOD OF DISPLAYING NAVIGATION INFORMATION FOR A VEHICLE WITH USE OF A PORTABLE DEVICE, AND A NAVIGATION SYSTEM IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
20190250006 · 2019-08-15 ·

A method of displaying navigation information for a vehicle with use of a portable device is provided to include: using a wheel speed sensor to sense a wheel speed of the vehicle; an instrument cluster device of the vehicle determining whether the sensed wheel speed is greater than a predetermined wheel speed threshold; and the instrument cluster device automatically displaying a primary navigation screen upon determining that the sensed wheel speed is greater than the predetermined wheel speed threshold.

Display control system, display system, movable-body apparatus, display controlling method, and storage medium

A display control system includes a display controller, and a single virtual frame-memory. The display controller controls a plurality of display devices physically separated from each other. The virtual frame-memory stores one or more screen images to be displayed on the plurality of the display devices. The display controller is configured to write, into the virtual frame-memory, a screen image to be displayed on and across at least two of the plurality of the display devices.

VEHICLE MIDDLEWARE
20190222484 · 2019-07-18 ·

The present disclosure describes a vehicle implementing one or more processing modules. These modules are configured to connect and interface with the various buses in the vehicle, where the various buses are connected with the various components of the vehicle to facilitate information transfer among the vehicle components. Each processing module is further modularized with the ability to add and replace other functional modules now or in the future. These functional modules can themselves act as distinct vehicle components. Each processing modules may hand-off processing to other modules depending on its health, processing load, or by third-party control. Thus, the plurality of processing modules helps to implement a middleware point of control to the vehicle with redundancy in processing and safety and security awareness in their applications.

VEHICLE DISPLAY NEXUS CONTROL APPARATUS

A vehicle display nexus control apparatus includes: a first display part provided at a vehicle main body; a wearable terminal that is worn at a head region of an occupant, and that is provided with a second display part disposed in front of an eye of the occupant in a worn state; a display information acquisition unit that acquires information to be displayed at at least one of the first display part or the second display part; and a display location selection unit that determines whether to display the information acquired by the display information acquisition unit at both the first display part and the second display part, at only the first display part, or at only the second display part.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR EXTERNAL VEHICLE ILLUMINATION MANAGEMENT

Methods and apparatus for external vehicle illumination management are disclosed herein. An example method includes receiving, at a first processor of a mobile device, vehicle data. The vehicle data is to be transmitted to the first processor from a second processor of a vehicle. The example method includes analyzing the vehicle data and mobile device data generated by the mobile device. The example method includes generating an alert for headlamp usage of the vehicle based on the analysis and presenting the alert via the mobile device.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO PRESENT ANTICIPATED VEHICLE MANEUVERS TO A PASSENGER
20190202479 · 2019-07-04 ·

Methods and apparatus to present anticipated vehicle maneuvers to a passenger are disclosed. An example method includes determining an anticipated autonomous maneuver of a vehicle based on collected information corresponding to autonomous operation of the vehicle, determining a notification type to present to a passenger device based on a device type, and presenting the anticipated autonomous maneuver to a user via the passenger device based on the notification type.

Vehicle lighting device with presentation of driving assistance information

A lighting device of a vehicle includes at least one lighting device for a road scene in front of the vehicle arranged to form a first light beam defined by a first lighting. A device for generating a second light beam defined by a second lighting is configured to superimpose the second beam on the first light beam. A sum of the first lighting and of the second lighting is greater than the first lighting, the second light beam forms driving assistance information.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ARRANGEMENTS FOR VEHICLES

An information display system includes a steering wheel including a ring portion and an upper opening region within the ring portion, an instrument cluster arrangement positioned forward of the steering wheel, and an electronic control unit. The instrument cluster arrangement includes a first gauge having a first fixing member on a portion of a boundary of the first gauge, and a second gauge having a second fixing member on a portion of a boundary of the second gauge. The first fixing member and the second fixing member are configured to hold a handheld device placed between the first and second gauges, and the first and second gauges are positioned such that when the handheld device is placed between the first and second gauges the handheld device is visible through the upper opening region.
