Integration of add-on interior modules into driver user interface
A listing of wireless in-vehicle components installed to a vehicle may be maintained by the vehicle. The listing may include in-vehicle components that are factory-installed to the vehicle as well as add-on in-vehicle components that may be added or removed by a user. A wireless transceiver may scan for changes to the add-on in-vehicle components within the vehicle. A user interface may display a unified interface including both the factory-installed wireless in-vehicle components and the add-on wireless in-vehicle components. A user may review and adjust the configuration of the in-vehicle components of the in-vehicle components using the user interface.
NAVIGATION SYSTEM FOR HIGHLIGHTING A TARGET LOCATION OF A DESTINATION BY INFRARED LIGHT
A navigation system for a vehicle that highlights a target location that is part of a destination includes a spotlight device that generates a beam of infrared light to create an infrared spotlight, an infrared camera that captures infrared image data, a display, and one or more controllers in electronic communication with the spotlight device, the infrared camera, and the display. In response to determining the vehicle is approaching the destination, the one or more controllers calculate a target angle indicating where the spotlight device directs the beam of infrared light to create the infrared spotlight upon the target location. The one or more controllers receive the infrared image data captured by the one or more infrared cameras of the target location of the destination and instructs the display to show the infrared image data captured by the one or more infrared cameras.
Method, system and apparatus for adapting the functionalities of a connected object associated with a user ID
In accordance with one example embodiment of the present invention a method is provided for adapting and customizing the attributes and the functionalities of a connected object according to preferences, settings and permissions associated with a user paired with said connected object. In some implementations, at least part of the inputs and adjustments imparted by said user to said connected object via an input/output user interface could seamlessly translate into other connected objects that belong to the same class and are paired with said user. In other implementations, the pairing of connected target objects with user IDs provides novel functionalities.

One example method includes establishing a connection with a vehicle over a wireless network, and associating the vehicle to a user account of an online service, wherein a vehicle type for the vehicle is identified in the user account. The method further includes receiving vehicle data for vehicle status information. The vehicle status information is for one or more vehicle systems of the vehicle. The method includes accessing one or more databases that include diagnostics data for the vehicle type and crowd sourced data for the vehicle type. The method includes processing the vehicle data that is received against the diagnostics data and the crowed sourced data. The processing is configured to select an alert from among a plurality of possible alerts. The crowd sourced data is configured to influence a confidence level for selecting the alert. The method includes sending a notification of the alert to the user account. The notification includes a recommended solution for handling the alert.
System and method for integrating smartphone technology into a safety management platform to improve driver safety
Identifying risky driving situations in the context of a driver's real-time operating environment and providing effective interventions and countermeasures that mitigate the risky situation to reduce the likelihood of the driver having a vehicular accident. A driver monitoring and mentoring system includes mobile safety centers individually installed on driver-assigned smartphones or other mobile devices. The mobile safety centers collect real-time driving data and compute a risk of a driver in a specific situation being involved in an accident and provide mentoring to drivers in a driver risk situation above a risk threshold to reduce the likelihood of an accident. The mobile safety centers communicate with a master safety analytics center that collects data, collects and stores information relating to detected risk situations, creates risk algorithms, creates driving mentoring communications, and communicates the algorithms and communications to the mobile safety centers.

A personal device may include a display and a processor. The processor of the personal device may be programmed to send, to the display, a vehicle interior map overlaid with indications of in-vehicle components, create a group of the in-vehicle components responsive to receipt of a swipe gesture to the display selecting a subset of the indications, receive input from the display of a location on the map, and aim outputs of the in-vehicle components of the group based on the location.

A vehicle-mounted display control method and an electronic device thereof are disclosed, applied to a vehicle-mounted system, the vehicle-mounted system being connected to a portable terminal. The method includes: receiving interface information sent by the portable terminal, and displaying a virtual interface according to the interface information; receiving an input instruction via the virtual interface, and sending an operation instruction generated according to the input instruction to the portable terminal; and receiving and outputting operation data generated by the portable terminal according to the operation instruction. According to the present disclosure, resources are shared between the vehicle-mounted system and the portable terminal, the display and play effects of the portable terminal are improved, and the disclosure of the vehicle-mounted system is extended.

A display device that is to be connected with an information terminal includes: a video reception unit that receives video information about a screen including a cursor from the information terminal; a touch panel that brings up on display the screen based upon the video information received by the video reception unit and detects a touch position specified by a touch operation; and a transmission unit that transmits, to the information terminal, displacement quantity information corresponding to a quantity of displacement from the display position of the cursor to the touch position.
Glove detection/adjustment of sensitivity for capacitive sensing button and slider elements
An input device for a control system of a vehicle includes at least one capacitive-sensing button, an actuation detection electrical circuit, a proximity sensor, a proximity temperature sensor, and a processor. In use, the capacitive-sensing button receives an actuation from a user. The actuation alters a capacitance value of the button. The detection electrical circuit comprises a threshold value and it outputs a button actuation signal when the capacitance value exceeds the threshold value. The proximity sensor generates a proximity signal when an object is provided near the capacitive-sensing button. The proximity temperature sensor provides a temperature measurement of the nearby area. The processor adjusts the threshold value to an adjustment value that is derived from the comparison signal.
