USER INTERFACE APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A user interface apparatus for a vehicle includes a first display, a second display spaced apart from the first display, an input unit configured to receive user input through at least one of the first display or the second display, and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to determine a control mode of the first display and the second display, and according to the determined control mode, control the second display based on user input received from the input unit through the first display.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE INTERFACES AND CONTROL SYSTEMS
According to this disclosure, a control system for an electric vehicle includes an electronic speed controller (ESC) configured to control an electric motor operably connected to a wheel of the electric vehicle and an electric vehicle controller configured to monitor an operating characteristic of the electric motor, wherein the operating characteristic comprises a voltage, current, or frequency of the electric motor. The electric vehicle controller can he configured to determine at least one user input based on the operating characteristic of the electric motor. The user input can be indicative of acceleration, constant speed, or deceleration. The electric vehicle controller can be configured to send a signal to the electronic speed controller for the electronic speed controller to control the electric motor based on the determined user input.
Selectively deployable control device
A vehicle (100) comprises a docking port and a selectively demountable switch (10) having a body and a rotary knob (40) on the body, and an interface between the switch and the docking port to enable commands entered by operation of the rotary knob to be communicated to the vehicle (100). The vehicle (100) incorporates a tow-assist system to facilitate reversing of a trailer, the vehicle (100) being of the type having a positive power-assisted steering mechanism (350) for its steerable wheels (250). The system comprises computing means (310) and the demountable switch (10). The computing means (350) is arranged to interpret rotational movement of the knob (40) on the body as desired steering movements of the trailer when the vehicle (100) is being reversed and to effect steering commands for the positive power assisted steering mechanism (350) to achieve said desired steering movements of the trailer.
Mobile device application integration with infotainment head units
A system is provided for integrating a feature rich application platform operating on a mobile device with a vehicle infotainment system. The system includes a head unit configured to control user interface devices including a display, a command entry device, and an audio output device. The head unit also includes computing resources and a communications interface. A content consumer application operates using the computing resources of the head unit, and is configured to communicate user generated commands over a communications interface to a content provider application executing on a mobile device. The content provider application is configured to direct the user generated commands to one of a plurality of sub-applications on the mobile device.
DISPLAY CONTROLLER, DISPLAY SYSTEM, AND DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD
Disclosed is a display controller including: a main display control unit for controlling a display performed by a main display unit on the basis of main operation information from a main operation unit; and a sub display control unit for controlling a display performed by a sub display unit on the basis of sub operation information from a sub operation unit. When the main operation unit is receiving an operation on the basis of the main operation information, the sub display control unit performs a control operation of not displaying, among the items which the sub display control unit causes the sub display unit to currently display, both the item related to an item to which an operation is being received by the main operation unit, and the item to which a function needing a change in display performed by the main display unit is assigned.
Providing a communications channel between instances of automated assistants
Implementations relate to interactions, over a wireless communication modality, between an automated assistant of an automobile computer system, and separate client device(s). In some of those implementations, the client device(s) can be paired with the automobile computer system, and the client device(s) and the automobile computer system can include separate instances of an automated assistant, which can be associated with different user accounts. In some additional or alternative implementations, particular actions to be performed by a local application of a client device can be advanced via user interaction with the automobile automated assistant, despite a counterpart to the local application not being installed directly on automobile computer system. For example, despite an automobile computer system not having a third-party messaging application installed, the automobile automated assistant can access requested actions to be performed by the third-party messaging application in order to further a requested action. The automobile computer system can transmit, via the wireless communication modality, content to cause the third-party application to further the requested action.
METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM AND DEVICE FOR THE REMOTE CONTROL OF A TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE VIA A MOBILE DEVICE
A method, computer program, and devices for the remote control of a transportation vehicle via a mobile device. The method includes determining a proposal for triggering a functionality of the transportation vehicle; outputting the proposal via an output device; detecting a reaction of a user of the mobile device, wherein the reaction consists of an input via the input device or of the absence of an input; and transmitting a triggering signal for the functionality from the mobile device to the transportation vehicle in response to the input being absent within a period of time or in response to the event not corresponding to a termination of the proposal.
Method and apparatus for interacting with a personal computing device such as a smart phone using portable and self-contained hardware that is adapted for use in a motor vehicle
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for interacting with a personal computing device such as a smart phone using portable, self-contained hardware that is adapted for use in a motor vehicle.
