According to a preferred embodiment, the fast neutron detector of the present invention includes a 4-He based noble gas detector, a power source, a signal processing circuit, and a resistor in series with a preamplifier and a shaping amplifier to produce a processed signal. According to a further preferred embodiment, the present invention preferably further includes a signal channel analyzer and a pulse counter/rate meter. According to a further preferred embodiment, the present invention includes a controller which receives a count of detected fast neutrons and translates the detected number of fast neutrons into an irrigation map indicating the required levels of irrigation needed for selected areas of a given field based on the detected moisture levels.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATING IRRIGATION WATER
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods and systems for treating irrigation water by introducing a propagating electromagnetic field into the irrigation water as it flows through an irrigation system. The treatments described herein may have a variety of beneficial effects on the water, including a significant increase in the percentage of the water that is maintained in the root zone of a given crop as plant-available water and the essential mineral, e.g. calcium and/or magnesium, uptake of that crop.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING DATA WITHIN AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM
The present invention provides a fiber-optic communication system that allows high-bandwidth communications between components of an irrigation machine. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the present invention teaches a system and method for providing a two-way communications link between a pivot controller panel and distributed irrigation machine components. According to further preferred embodiments, the two-way communications link of the present invention may also convert optical signals to electrical signals and route those signals to the appropriate connected devices.
Systems and methods for irrigating according to a modified or reset crop growth model
An irrigation system includes a plurality of mobile support towers driven my motors; a fluid-carrying conduit supported by the mobile towers; a number of water-emitters connected to the conduit; one or more valves which can be opened or closed to control fluid flow through the water emitters; and a control system. The control system controls the speed of the mobile towers and the flow of water through the water emitters in accordance with one or more irrigation scheduling plans. The control system also receives crop growth data from one or more sensors and aerial image data from one or more remote imaging systems and detects significant crop events from the data and improves irrigation scheduling in response to such detections.
MONITORING AND CONTROL OF A MOVABLE TOWER IN AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM
Aspects of the technology described herein provide a system for improved control and monitoring of a movable tower in an irrigation system. A computer controller associated with a tower of an irrigation system receives an indication of parameter modification. The system is then able to change parameters at a component of the tower control system based on the received parameters. The system stores the current angle sensed between two adjacent span members. If the stored angle is between two threshold levels, a drive signal is provided to a motor. The system is operable to selectively apply a drive signal at a tower in an align mode. The system provides the ability to digitally modify a threshold that is used in a machine run-mode to operate the motor at a tower.
The system stores the current drive value at a station to control drive. If the stored drive value is above a threshold level, a drive signal is provided to a motor. The system is operable to selectively apply a drive signal at a tower. The system provides the ability to digitally modify a threshold that is used in a machine run-mode to operate the motor at a tower.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE INTEGRATED USE OF PREDICTIVE AND MACHINE LEARNING ANALYTICS FOR A CENTER PIVOT IRRIGATION SYSTEM
The present invention provides a system and method for analyzing sensor data related to an irrigation system. According to a preferred embodiment, the system includes algorithms for analyzing real-time, near real-time and historical data acquired from sensors in communication with a mechanized irrigation machine. Further, the algorithms of the present invention system may analyze collected sensor data to determine if an event has occurred or is predicted to occur. Further, the algorithms of the present invention may provide commands to an irrigation machine and notifications to users. According to further aspects of the present invention, the algorithms of the present invention may preferably apply machine learning and other data analysis tools to detect maintenance patterns, geographic trends, environmental trends, and to provide predictive analysis for future events.
System and method for position correction using power line carrier communications
The present invention provides a method for aligning spans using real-time kinetics (RTK) data communicated through a power line carrier system. According to a further preferred embodiment, the method of present invention includes the steps of: receiving a first set of GPS location data and second set of RTK data; comparing the first set of GPS location data with the second set of RTK data; calculating RTK error correction data; creating an RTK error correction data signal containing RTK error correction data; modulating the RTK error correction data signal for transmission on a power line carrier; transmitting the RTK error correction data signal through a power line BUS onto a power line to a last drive tower; de-modulating the RTK error correction data signal; calculating the location of the last drive tower using the RTK error correction data; calculating a straight, center line between the pivot and the last drive unit; calculating the relative distances between each intermediate drive tower and the calculated center line; and controlling the speed or average run time of each intermediate drive tower to reduce distance between their current locations and the calculated center line.
