A vehicle seat assembly includes a housing seat attachment portion with hooks in receipt of suspension wires. A housing bracket extends from a housing sidewall to provide a housing cavity and a housing opening. The housing bracket is spaced above the vehicle floor by at least fifty millimeters to provide clearance between the housing bracket and the vehicle floor. A pump is received within the housing cavity adjacent to the seat attachment portion. A cover is fastened to the housing seat attachment portion and the housing bracket to at least partially enclose the housing opening and to retain the pump within the housing. A light source is received within the housing cavity and is adjacent to the seat attachment portion to minimize a height of the housing. The light source is oriented away from the seat attachment portion to illuminate a region beneath the seat bottom frame.

The present disclosure provides a damper system for a suspension of a vehicle seat. A linkage of the damper system can be configured to cause a damper to provide different damping characteristics when the suspension moves towards a neutral position than when the suspension moves away from the neutral position.

Methods and apparatus for a suspension system

Various embodiments of the present technology may comprise a method and apparatus for a space-saving suspension system. In various embodiments, the apparatus may comprise a fine suspension device, a coarse suspension device, and a mechanical assembly. In various embodiments, the fine suspension device is arranged at an angle greater than zero degrees from the z-axis. In various embodiments, the mechanical assembly is coupled to the fine suspension device and a payload, such that when a force is exerted on the mechanical assembly by the payload, an applied force is transmitted to the fine suspension device.

Suspension pedestal

A suspension pedestal may be employed with a vehicle seat (e.g. a boat seat). The suspension pedestal comprises a piston partially received within a base, and an isolator to mitigate relative movement between the base and piston. A flange extends circumferentially around the base, and is releasably fixable to the base at any point between the ends of the base.

A suspension mechanism 1 has a structure in which two suspension units 100, 200 which support a movable support part 140 and a seat support part 240 through link mechanisms 110, 120 respectively are arranged in two upper and lower stages, and a configuration such that, when the movable support part 140 and the seat support part 240 move up and down relatively in response to input vibration, the two link mechanisms 110, 210 supporting the respective parts are operated to rotate in opposite directions to each other. Therefore, a position of a hip point of a person seated on a seat supported by the seat support part 240 is displaced in an approximately vertical trajectory, which reduces forward and backward swinging and stabilizes a seating posture, resulting in good ride comfort, as compared with a case of one link mechanism.

Vehicle seat suspension mechanism

There is described a vehicle seat suspension mechanism, comprising a vehicle mount, a seat support linked to the vehicle mount by a suspension arrangement which allows the seat support to fall with respect to the vehicle mount under load and a shock strut arranged to resist the seat support falling with respect to the vehicle mount during a compression stroke. A control link is arranged to be driven about a control link pivot by the fall of the seat support. The control link is pivotally coupled to a first end of the shock strut to guide the first end with respect to a second end of the shock strut in a manner which causes a motion ratio of the suspension mechanism to increase during progression of the compression stroke. The ride will feel softer for smaller impacts and better damped later for larger impacts. The mechanism is arranged underneath a seat of a vehicle to provide additional comfort for the rider.
