METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ELEMENT HAVING A COVER, AND SUCH AN ELEMENT
A method produces an element (3), in particular a vehicle seat, having a seamless cover (2). The seamless cover (2) is optionally provided with a lamination (1). A molding (1.2) is applied and fastened to a surface side (1.1) of the lamination (1) facing away from the cover (2) or to a surface side (2.2) of the cover (2) that is not visible. The fastened molding (1.2) is connected to the cover (2) by bonding.
Fastening Tape With Flexibility In The Lateral Direction And Associated Methods
A fastening tape has flexibility in a lateral (width) direction of the fastening tape. The fastening tape includes a body, a plurality of fasteners, and a plurality of transverse walls. The plurality of fasteners and the plurality of transverse walls extend in an upward direction from a top surface of the body. The plurality of fasteners are arranged in rows extending in the lateral direction. Each transverse wall includes a transverse wall width, and at least some of the plurality of transverse walls are arranged in the rows of the plurality of fasteners and connect fasteners in the rows fasteners. The fastening tape includes at least one slit within or adjacent at least one of the transverse walls, which increases flexibility in the lateral direction of the fastening tape.
Fastening Tape With Flexibility In The Longitudinal Direction And Associated Methods
A fastening tape having flexibility in a longitudinal direction of the fastening tape. The fastening tape includes a plurality of fasteners, a support, and magnetic material positioned on the support. The support defines a plurality of plateaus and a plurality of valleys. The magnetic material is positioned on at least a portion of one of the plurality of plateaus or the plurality of valleys of the support such that a height of the magnetic material varies in the longitudinal direction. Because the height of the magnetic material varies, the fastening tape is more flexible in the longitudinal direction. In some cases, the fastening tape is also flexible in the lateral direction.
Molded Surface Fastener
This surface fastener has a substrate portion and a plurality of engaging elements, each of the engaging elements being provided with a stem portion standing from the substrate portion and a hook portion extending in the fastener width direction from the stem portion. The engaging element has a narrow width tip end portion provided with at least a hook portion and an enlarged width portion provided with only the stem portion, separated by a reference surface along the fastener length and height directions as a boundary. This makes an undercut hardly formable in the molding of the engaging element, and deficiencies such as deformation and the like of the engaging element can be prevented. Further, the strength of the stem portion can be increased, and a damage which a loop-shaped engaging element and the engaging element receive when the loop-shaped engaging element is attached or pulled out can be reduced.
SEAT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A seat assembly and a method of manufacture. The seat assembly comprises a cushion, an attachment pad, and a trim cover. The cushion comprises a filament mesh structure that comprises a set of filaments. The attachment pad is coupled to the filament mesh structure. The trim cover is attached to the attachment pad.
Ventilated seat and method of making
A ventilated seat includes a cushion pad, including a plurality of air distribution holes therethrough, and having a hook-loop fastener affixed thereto; a seat bottom including a main bottom cushion; a seat back operatively engaging the seat bottom and including a main back cushion; wherein one of the main bottom cushion and the main back cushion is comprised of a closed cell foam, includes a recess that is shaped to receive and orient the cushion pad therein, a ventilation passage for directing airflow from a climate control system to the recess, and a hook-loop fastener molded into the closed cell foam in the recess; and wherein the cushion pad is secured in the recess by the hook-loop fastener of the cushion pad operatively engaging the hook-loop fastener in the recess.
SEAT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A product includes a filament mesh member, a trim cover, and a hook and loop fastening system. The filament mesh member comprises a set of filaments of thermoplastic material, wherein each member of the set of filaments is bonded to at least one other member of the set of filaments. The trim cover is disposed over the filament mesh member. The hook and loop fastening system comprises a loop portion and a hook portion. One of the loop portion and the hook portion is attached to the filament mesh member. The other of the loop portion and the hook portion is attached to the trim cover. The loop portion and the hook portion cooperate to secure the trim cover to the filament mesh member.
SEAT COVER FASTENING
A molded seat cushion is adapted for receiving a seat cover by providing an adhesive on either or both of a flexible fastener sheet and a selected area of a molded foam cushion surface, positioning the flexible fastener sheet to cover the selected area, and allowing the adhesive to set to permanently bond the flexible fastener sheet over the selected area of the molded foam cushion surface. The selected area features a three-dimensional contour that the flexible fastener sheet follows as bonded. A related flexible fastener product has a non-woven textile sheet and a resin layer secured to the textile sheet and carrying an array of discrete male touch fastener elements. The resin layer includes multiple parallel strips of resin, each resin strip carrying respective touch fastener elements, with each pair of adjacent strips separated by an exposed lane of the non-woven textile sheet
PADDING ELEMENT FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
A padding element for a vehicle seat includes a block of foam, the block having an outer surface and a groove, the groove having a bottom and side walls opening onto the outer surface. The padding element further includes an attachment support, arranged at the bottom of the groove. The attachment support includes: a contact surface, integral with the bottom of the groove; and a rib, arranged opposite the contact surface, in the direction of the outer surface of the foam block.
Vehicle door guard
Vehicle door guards can be used in conjunction with a vehicle seat cover to provide protection to doors. A vehicle door guard may include a cover portion that is configured to be secured to a lower portion of a vehicle seat cover when the vehicle seat cover is installed on a vehicle seat. The vehicle door guard may also include one or more fasteners for supporting the cover portion from a portion of the vehicle.
