DIMENSIONALLY FLEXIBLE TOUCH FASTENER STRIP
A fastening strip for touch fasteners is provided which includes a corrugated portion as well as fastening elements. The corrugated portion allows the strip to be bent in a plane perpendicular as well as parallel with the longitudinal axis of the strip such that it may be applied to curved surfaces and remain substantially flat. Fastening elements such as hooks, loops, mushroom-shaped, bulbous and double hooks may be included on both sides of the strip and on the walls of the channels that form the corrugations as well as between the corrugations. The corrugated fastening strips may be useful for automotive seating and diaper applications. Processes for forming the corrugated fastening strip area also disclosed.
Cover attaching device and method for attaching a cover to a seat cover
A cover attaching device for attaching a cover to a seat body is disclosed. This device comprises a cover holder which includes one or more clip holding means capable of holding at least one clip, the cover holder being configured to hold the cover, to which the clip has been attached, via the clip being held by the clip holding means; and a distance adjusting means capable of adjusting a distance between the cover holder and a table on which the seat body can be placed.
Process for molding cover materials for seating applications
A seat trim cover for an automotive seat is formed into a 3-dimensional shape by compression molding a laminated moldable foam in a 3-dimensional. The laminated moldable foam comprises at least a layer of cellular polyurethane foam compression moldable in a temperature range of about 220? F. to about 260? F. The 3-dimensional mold is heated to a temperature range of about 150? F. to about 320? F. The layer of cellular foam is adhered to a cover material layer and pre-cut into a pre-laminated blank prior to molding into the 3-dimensional shape. Optionally, seat heaters or other components can be integrated with the laminated foam prior to compression molding the seat trim cover.
Dual firmness foam flex point elimination
A dual firmness vehicle seat and a method of forming the same is provided. In an embodiment, a vehicle seat assembly includes a seat bottom, and a seatback disposed on the seat bottom. At least one of the seat bottom and seatback includes a first cushion region having a first initial load deflection value, and a second cushion region having a second initial load deflection value different from the first initial load deflection value. The seat assembly further includes a non-continuous trench defined by and between the first cushion region and the second cushion region and having a base forming a cavity therebetween, and connecting regions disposed within the cavity above the base extending between the first and second cushion regions to inhibit flexing between the first and second cushion regions.
Forming of motor vehicle seat upholstery
The invention concerns a mold for forming an element for covering a lining of a seat member for a motor vehicle, comprising: a matrix (62) provided with ribs (624) for defining style extension lines (36); and a punch (64) provided with ribs (642), to either side of a line of the ribs (624) of the matrix (62).
Molded surface fastener, cushion body, cushion body manufacturing method, and molding die
A molded surface fastener comprises at least one surface fastener portion and a foldable piece portion that extends from the surface fastener portion. At least a part of the foldable piece portion has flexibility. The surface fastener portion has a pair of first barrier portions and a second barrier portion. A cushion body with the molded surface fastener anchored to a prescribed position while a plurality of engaging elements are in an exposed state can be stably manufactured by way of foam molding the cushion body using the molded surface fastener.
Contour connect
A contour connect system for applying a vehicle trim includes a fabric loop and a low-profile hook component. The fabric loop component includes a spacer layer, Class A surface layer, and a loop-containing layer, the Class A surface layer being adhered to one side of spacer layer while the loop-containing layer is adhered to the opposite side of spacer layer.
Seat
A seat (1) comprises: a seat member (3(2)) that includes a cushioning material (4); and a fastening member (5) that allows a trim cover (7) to be detachably attached to a predetermined position on the seat member (3). The fastening member (5) is constituted by a slide fastener that includes: a fastener part (51) constituted by one fastener half (511) and another fastener half (512); and a slider part. At least part of a base part (6) provided in the one fastener half (511) is embedded in the cushioning material (4), and part of the other fastener half (512) is fixed to the trim cover (7).
Retaining device having hooks
A hooked retaining device (100) for defining at least a portion of a reception groove formed at the periphery of an article comprises a retaining element (10) made by injection molding. The retaining element has a first side wall (11) and a second side wall (12) that are spaced apart from each other in a lateral direction, and a base (20) connecting together said side walls (11, 12). The side walls (11, 12) and the base (20) define a retaining groove (14) that is open in a main direction (z) in order to receive a counterpart having hooks or loops. According to the invention, at least one of the side walls (11, 12) presents a plurality of hooks (30) adapted to co-operate with the counterpart, each hook (30) having at least one hooking portion oriented towards the base (20) of the retaining element (10).
