Load securement block
A load securement block includes a rectangular central block and two (2) rhomboid side blocks integral to opposite lengthwise sides of the central block and positioned in mirror image to each other. The block is made of closed cell high density foam. The block is configured to provide a protective and deformable barrier between a cargo strap and a cargo load being secured in place by the cargo strap. Alternate embodiments having different geometries are also disclosed.
Floor recesses for a cargo box
A vehicle having a cargo box is disclosed. The vehicle comprises a frame, at least one seat connected to the frame, a motor connected to the frame, a plurality of ground engaging members, and a cargo box connected to the frame. The cargo box comprises a floor comprising at least one recessed region, a front wall defining a first vertical notch, a first side wall defining a second vertical notch, a second side wall defining a third vertical notch, the second and third vertical notches being rearward of the recessed region, a first accessory wall being selectively received in the first vertical notch and a second accessory wall being selectively received in the second and third vertical notches, the at least one recessed region being disposed between the first accessory wall and one of the first and second side walls and between the front wall and the second accessory wall.
Retention device for restraining an article during transport of the article
A retention device for physically restraining undesired movement of an article during transport of the article. Retention devices may include a first surface, a first set of protrusions extending outward from the first surface, a second surface, and a second set of protrusions extending outward from the second surface. Each protrusion in the first set of protrusions may be shaped to engage a floor of a transport vehicle. Each protrusion in the second set of protrusions may be shaped to engage an article positioned in the transport vehicle. The first surface and the second surface may be aligned along different planes at an angular offset. During transport of an article, the first set of protrusions engage with a floor of the transport vehicle, and the second set of protrusions engage with the article. After the transport vehicle has arrived at its destination, the retention device can be released from engaging the floor and the article by lifting the article, as typically occurs when a forklift is used to unload the article from the transport vehicle.
Variable friction cargo surface system for vehicles
Cargo systems are provided for vehicles that include, in one embodiment: a variable cargo surface disposed within a body of the vehicle behind one or more occupant seats, the variable cargo surface including: a low friction surface that facilitates movement of cargo within the cargo system, the low friction surface having a first coefficient of friction; a high friction surface that inhibits movement of cargo within the cargo system, the high friction surface having a second coefficient of friction that is greater than the first coefficient of friction; and a control device that selectively activates the low friction surface and the high friction surface based on conditions for the vehicle; wherein the low friction surface contacts the cargo within the cargo system when the low friction surface is activated; and the high friction surface contacts the cargo within the cargo system when the high friction surface is activated.
RECYCLED RUBBER SECUREMENT MAT WITH SELF-PROVIDED INCLINE STOP
A securement mat for mitigating the migration of loads within a shipping vessel. The securement mat having a length, a width, and a height, and including a first subsection and a second subsection, wherein an area of the second subsection is less than an area of the first subsection. The securement mat has a first fold boundary along the length or width of the sheet and proximate to one edge of the sheet defining a boundary between the first and second subsection, wherein the first subsection exhibits a first incline by folding, along the first fold boundary, the second subsection underneath the first subsection. The securement mat also has a notch on each end of the first fold boundary to facilitate folding of the second subsection under the first subsection.
Flammable Liquid Transport System
A flammable liquid transport system includes a container that may contain a flammable liquid. A bag is provided and the bag may be transported in a vehicle. The container is positioned within the bag. Thus, the bag inhibits the flammable liquid from spilling into the vehicle. The bag is comprised of a fire resistant and fluid impermeable material.
PLANAR STRUCTURE FROM A PLURALITY OF FOLDING PORTIONS
Planar structure from a plurality of folding portions
A planar structure from a plurality of folding portions which are interconnected by way of integral hinges and which are erectable to a functional position so as to form a three-dimensional body, wherein fixing means are provided for mutually fixing the folding portions in the erected functional position, is known.
According to the invention, the folding portions are of triangular design in such a manner that the folding portions are erectable to form a supporting corner in the form of a triangular pyramid.
Employment in the cargo space of passenger motor vehicles.
PLANAR STRUCTURE FROM A PLURALITY OF FOLDING PORTIONS
A planar structure formed from a plurality of folding portions which are interconnected by way of integral hinges and which are erectable to a functional position so as to form a three-dimensional body. A fixing arrangement is provided for mutually fixing the folding portions in the erected functional position. The folding portions are of triangular design such that the folding portions are erectable to form a supporting corner in the form of a triangular pyramid. The structure can be utilized in the cargo space of passenger motor vehicles.
