An apparatus and a method for an automotive lamp are provided. The apparatus includes a housing made of plastic having an impact groove formed on a surface of the housing, wherein the impact groove is designed as a function of a depth, a width, a desired force, a cross section, and a profile to cause a designed rupture upon application of an applied force.

COMPRESSIBLE STOPPER BEHIND HEADLAMP FOR PROTECTING CLOSURES AGAINST DAMAGE DURING A LOW SPEED COLLISION

An apparatus for protecting against damage to a vehicle during a low speed collision. The apparatus includes a headlamp adapted to breakaway to provide the vehicle with front end compliance for pedestrian protection. To avoid causing further damage to vehicle components during the low speed collision, a compressible stopper, such as a foam block, is provided for simultaneously engaging the headlamp and a component of the vehicle during the rearward movement of the headlamp as a result of the collision. Related methods are also disclosed.

Utility vehicle

A utility vehicle includes a headlamp including a first connector, a headlamp housing accommodating the headlamp, and a harness including a second connector configured to be connected with the first connector, in which the headlamp housing includes a connector holding portion holding the first and second connectors connected with each other.

Head lamp module for vehicle

A head lamp module for a vehicle is provided. The head lamp module includes a shield that is configured to be rotated by operations of first and second solenoids and first and second shield operation mechanisms and a beam pattern of a low beam mode, a beam pattern of a high beam mode, or a beam pattern of an ADB mode that is implemented based on a rotation angle of the shield. The beam pattern of the low beam mode is implemented when a fail safe function is performed based on a failure occurrence in the high beam mode or ADB mode state.

Vehicular lamp fitting and radar structure

A vehicular lamp fitting and the like capable of preventing (or suppressing) vibrations of a radar unit (and as a result, capable of preventing the detection area of the radar unit from being significantly changed) are provided. A vehicular lamp fitting includes: a lamp housing; an outer lens attached to the lamp housing, the outer lens including a recessed part and forming a first space between the outer lens and the lamp housing; a lamp unit disposed in the first space; a radar cover disposed while covering the recessed part, and forming a second space between the radar cover and the recessed part; a bracket disposed in the second space; a radar unit detachably fixed to the bracket; and a first fixing part fixing one end of the bracket to the outer lens; and a second fixing part fixing the other end of the bracket to the lamp housing.

Function module for at least one light function and/or at least one sensor function having a first frame that is movable relative to a second frame

A function module includes at least one lighting unit and/or at least one sensor unit. The function module also includes a covering panel through which light from the at least one lighting unit emerges from the function module and/or by way of which the detection region of a respective sensor unit extends out of the function module. The function module also includes a first frame and a second frame, with the covering panel being provided on the first frame and the second frame being configured for rigid attachment to the motor vehicle. The first frame is movable from a nominal position relative to the second frame should the action of a force be directed against the frame toward the covering panel from the outside. A returning device is provided in order to return the first frame to the nominal position once the action of the force has ceased.

Vehicle front structure

A vehicle front structure that is structured with a headlight covered above that can suppress a collision reaction force in the event of a collision body from above the structure is obtained. A headlight is arranged below a front end portion of a hood. A protrusion portion formed on a lower surface side of the front end portion of a hood inner panel of the hood. The protrusion portion protrudes toward an upper surface side of an upper wall portion of lens of the headlight. A fragile portion is formed in the upper wall portion of the lens of the headlight, in a region opposed to the protrusion portion. Besides, the headlight is fixed to a vehicle body in a manner incapable of being displaced in response to load input from the protrusion portion, and is set so as to fracture due to the load input from the protrusion portion.
