RUNNING BOARD ILLUMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A running board illumination system is provided for a motor vehicle. That system includes a first light pipe having a first end and a second end. A first reflector and first light source are provided at the first end. A second reflector and second light source are provided at the second end. Light emitted from the system is shaped and directed via optical lens to fall upon a running board.

A vehicle running board includes a main body, a decorative plate, a light-guiding rod provided with two LEDs, a covering strip, and a base. The main body has a first recessed surface at its top side and a second recessed surface at its underside, wherein the first recessed surface is provided with a plurality of oblong protrusions and defines a receiving groove, and the second recessed surface defines a receiving space for receiving a controller. The light-guiding rod is disposed in the receiving groove of the main body. The covering strip, having a plurality of raised light-transmissive portions, is fitted over the light-guiding rod. The decorative plate defines a plurality of oblong openings and is fixed onto the main body. The main body is fixed onto the base. The vehicle running board can provide a flickering mode of light at its top and a long strip of light at its one side, thus increasing safety.

A linear illumination device is provided in which a transparent light guide made of glass is recessed in a profile opposite to a dark surface. A linear illumination device is also provided having a glass fiber bundle in a dyed tube.

An illumination apparatus for a vehicle is disclosed. The illumination apparatus comprise a light source disposed on a step portion. A first coating layer is molded over the step portion and the light source. A photoluminescent portion is disposed proximate a tread portion of the step portion. The light source is configured to emit a first emission to excite the photoluminescent portion to emit a second emission.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CLEANING DIRTY ARTICLES IN VEHICLES
A vehicle including a mat, an air flow unit and a processor is disclosed. The mat may include a top wall, a bottom wall and plurality of through-holes disposed in the top wall. The air flow unit may be configured to blow pressurized air in a mat interior portion. The processor may detect a trigger event, and cause the air flow unit to blow the pressurized air in the mat interior portion responsive to detecting the trigger event. The ambient air in proximity to the top wall may be pulled towards the mat interior portion via the plurality of through-holes when the air flow unit blows the pressurized air in the mat interior portion.
Box step with multi-purpose lighting
A box step lighting arrangement for a vehicle which includes a mount for attachment to a vehicle. A step member and a linkage are connected to the mount, the linkage move the step member between a deployed position and retracted position. A motor is attached to the linkage to move the step between a deployed position and retracted position. Connected to the linkage is at least one light module. The light module has at least one light projection element that projects light onto the step member and the ground beneath the step member.
BOX STEP WITH MULTI-PURPOSE LIGHTING
A box step lighting arrangement for a vehicle which includes a mount for attachment to a vehicle. A step member and a linkage are connected to the mount, the linkage move the step member between a deployed position and retracted position. A motor is attached to the linkage to move the step between a deployed position and retracted position. Connected to the linkage is at least one light module. The light module has at least one light projection element that projects light onto the step member and the ground beneath the step member.
