SAFETY SIGN DEVICE WITH MODULAR DUAL SIGNS AND RELATED METHODS
A safety sign device is for a vehicle. The safety sign device includes a first sign having proximal and distal end, a first hinge being coupled to the proximal end of the first sign, the first hinge being coupled to a side of the vehicle, and a second sign being coupled to the side of the vehicle and being substantially parallel to the side of the vehicle. The first hinge is configured to extend and retract the first sign between a retracted position and an extended position. The first and second signs may be transverse to each other in the extended position, and may be flat against the side of the vehicle in the retracted position. The safety sign device includes a first flexible arm coupled to the first hinge and having an elongate housing, and visual indicators carried by the elongate housing.
VEHICLE STATUS INDICATOR
A device for use with a vehicle that includes a cabinet having a plurality of sidewalls that can define at least a portion of an interior region of the cabinet. A display screen is coupled to a portion of the cabinet, at least one side of the display screen being positioned to face outwardly away from the interior region and have indicia that is visible from a location remote from both the cabinet and the vehicle. A light source can be positioned within the interior region adjacent to the display screen that is configured to selectively illuminate at least a portion of at least one of the display screen and the indicia. The device can further include a controller that is electrically coupled to the light source and a trigger assembly. The controller can be configured to initiate operation of the light source in response to receipt of a communication from the trigger assembly that is indicative a change in status of the vehicle.
AUTOMATED OPERATION VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE AND AUTOMATED OPERATION VEHICLE
An automated operation vehicle control unit is configured to perform a detection process in which an abnormal condition of a passenger of a vehicle is detected and a notification process in which pedestrians are notified of the abnormal condition detected in the detection process in a case where the abnormal condition of the passenger is detected in the detection process.
Trailer-in-tow warning system for a towing vehicle
A trailer-in-tow warning system for a towing vehicle configured to tow a trailer. The trailer-in-tow warning system includes a trailer detection module installable in the towing vehicle. The trailer detection module includes an ignition sub-system connectable to a power supply. The ignition sub-system is operable to provide power from the power supply to the trailer-in-tow warning system when the ignition sub-system is engaged. A sensing sub-system is connectable to the ignition sub-system. The sensing sub-system is operable to generate a trailer-connected signal when a trailer has been connected to the towing vehicle. A trailer warning module is connectable to the trailer detection module. The trailer warning module is operable to receive the trailer-connected signal and to generate a warning signal to other vehicles that the towing vehicle has a trailer in tow.
Vehicle lamp light blocking
A vehicle lamp includes one or more LEDs mounted to a printed circuit board for producing light. One or more inner lenses are coupled to LEDs for receiving light such that light enters along an edge or surface of each inner lens and propagates through each inner lens before exiting. A projection lens is oriented adjacent the inner lenses such that the projection lens receives light from the inner lenses and projects the light from the vehicle lamp. A light blocking material is applied to at least a portion of the projection lens for altering an appearance of light emitted from the projection lens. The resulting projections provide custom lit appearances having varying patterns, intensity, texture, and/or color. The vehicle lamp may be used for satisfying vehicle lamp legal functions, welcome functions, autonomous driving functions, and/or logo functions.
Identification of a vehicle based on gestures of a potential occupant of the vehicle
Technologies are provided for identification of a vehicle or a condition of the vehicle based on recognition of gestures of a pedestrian in the surrounding of the vehicle. Some embodiments of the technologies utilize multiple devices integrated into the vehicle and include a control unit that can control the operation of at least some of the multiple devices. The control unit can determine that a defined mobile device is within a defined range from the vehicle. In response to such a determination, the control unit can identify a gesture of a pedestrian relative to the vehicle, the pedestrian having the mobile device. The control can then cause at least one of the multiple devices to provide one or more visual signals based at least on the gesture. Such visual signals permit identifying the vehicle, an entry point to the vehicle, a condition of the vehicle, or a combination thereof.
System and method for recording an image sequence
A controller is adapted to receive respective images from a sensors of a first vehicle. The images provide a gapless view along, and within a predetermined perpendicular distance away from, a side of the first vehicle. Movement of a second vehicle along, and within the predetermined perpendicular distance away from, the side of the first vehicle, is detected based on at least one of the images. A position of a front of the second vehicle is predicted based on the movement of the second vehicle. An image sequence is recorded at the position.
Courtesy Flag
A signaling device for defining a space between parked vehicles. The signaling device comprises a vehicle attachment component, an extendable component, and a warning component. The vehicle attachment component is configured to engage a vehicle window. The extendable component comprises rotatable and telescoping arms for defining the space between the vehicles when the rotatable and telescoping arms are extended. The warning component alerts others of the defined space. A method of using the signaling device to define a space between parked vehicles is also disclosed.
U-TURN INDICATOR REAR LAMP AND AUTONOMOUS DRIVING METHOD USING SAME
A rear lamp includes a reverse light, a direction indicator light, a brake light and a taillight, which are provided inside a lamp case. The rear lamp includes left and right rear lamps and has a peripheral area and a center area. The peripheral area is disposed on the outer side of the center area. The reverse light, the brake right and the taillight are positioned in the center area. The direction indicator light is positioned in the peripheral area and is formed as an LED array in the shape of a C or inverted-U. The left rear lamp has a U-turn indicator light and a left turn indicator light. The right rear lamp has a right turn indicator light. When the U-turn indicator light activates, the entire LED array turns on. When the left turn indicator light activates, only a part of the LED array turns on.
