Apparatus for controlling autonomous driving of a vehicle, system having the same and method thereof

An autonomous driving control apparatus for a vehicle includes: a processor that demands a user of a vehicle to take a control authority of the vehicle during an autonomous driving control when a current driving condition is in a limit situation during the autonomous driving control, and starts a minimum risk maneuver to disable reactivation of the autonomous driving control when the control authority is not transferred to the user; and a storage to store a set of instructions to be executed by the processor and data for determination and performance by the processor. In particular, the processor automatically flashes an emergency light when the minimum risk maneuver is started, and controls automatic flashing of the emergency light to not be released by the user when the vehicle is not in a stopped state.

A car door opening pre-detection system for a car includes a first detecting module, a second detecting module and a control module. The first detecting module is installed within the car. The first detecting module issues a motion detecting signal according to a result of detecting a motion of a palm. The second detecting module is installed outside the car. When the car is stopped, the second detecting module is enabled to selectively provide a first detection range or a second detection range. The control unit judges whether a car door of the car is about to be opened according to the motion detecting signal. When the car is stopped and the control module judges that the car door is about to be opened, the second detecting module provides the second detection range to detect whether there is a moving object behind the car.

Laser projected lines to indicate while driving in semi-truck blind spots

A system and method are provided and include light source projectors with positional actuators mounted on a subject vehicle. A controller controls the light source projectors and the positional actuators to project at least one laser line on a roadway upon which the subject vehicle is traveling. A location of the at least one laser line corresponds to at least one blind spot alert area of the subject vehicle.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REGULATING THE LIGHT EMISSION FROM A VEHICLE LIGHT

A method for regulating the light emission from a vehicle light, wherein a road user located in the light emission direction of the vehicle light is detected, and the light emission from the vehicle light is changed, whereupon response data on the response of the road user to the change in the light emission are acquired. Prediction data indicating the response expected from a road user located in the light emission direction of the vehicle light to the changed light emission are determined. The acquired response data are compared with the determined prediction data, if the prediction data deviate from the response data, the adjustment in the light emission from the vehicle light by which a reduction in the deviation is predicted is determined, and the light emission is regulated according to the determined adjustment. Further, the invention relates to a device for carrying out this method.

A method to control a vehicle comprising a driver support function and an information receiving device, comprising the steps of; receiving information regarding a severe condition and the position of the severe condition; determining the distance from the vehicle to the position of the severe condition; comparing the determined distance to a first predetermined distance; if the determined distance is smaller than the first predetermined distance, automatically adjust or disengage the driver support function; if the driver support function has been automatically adjusted or disengaged, comparing the determined distance to a second predetermined distance; if the determined distance is smaller than the second predetermined distance, automatically activating at least one warning light of the vehicle.

CROSS-TRAFFIC WARNING SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

A cross-traffic warning system for a motor vehicle includes first and second input devices transmitting associated first and second input signals for first and second detected objects positioned on the roadway. The system further includes a computer having one or more processors and a computer readable medium storing instructions. The processor is programmed to determine that the first object is a Vulnerable Road User (“VRU”) travelling on a first path based on the first input signal. The processor is further programmed to determine that the second object is a third party vehicle and further that the VRU and the third party vehicle are travelling on an associated one of first and second paths to imminently collide with one another based on the first and second input signals. The processor is further programmed to generate an actuation signal in response to the processor determining the imminent collision.

A beacon provides an image projected onto a roadway at a distance from the vehicle to alert other vehicles as to the presence and speed and/or the deceleration (braking) of the vehicle. The beacon can include a laser that projects an image onto the roadway at a distance behind the vehicle. The laser is able to project this image through fog or other low visibility conditions. The image projected onto the roadway can be a recognizable image such as a universally recognized warning symbol. Alternatively, or additionally, a beacon can be mounted to a front of a vehicle which can alert a moving leading vehicle as to the presence of a moving trailing vehicle in low visibility conditions. The beacon can also be used to alert the driver of inadvertent crossing the roadway lane divider markings either visibly or electronically, in low visibility conditions.

Intelligent electronic footwear and logic for navigation assistance by automated tactile, audio, and visual feedback

Presented are intelligent electronic footwear and apparel with controller-automated features, methods for making/operating such footwear and apparel, and control systems for executing automated features of such footwear and apparel. A method for operating an intelligent electronic shoe (IES) includes receiving, e.g., via a controller through a wireless communications device from a GPS satellite service, location data of a user. The controller also receives, e.g., from a backend server-class computer or other remote computing node, location data for a target object or site, such as a virtual shoe hidden at a virtual spot. The controller retrieves or predicts path plan data including a derived route for traversing from the user's location to the target's location within a geographic area. The controller then transmits command signals to a navigation alert system mounted to the IES's shoe structure to output visual, audio, and/or tactile cues that guide the user along the derived route.
