A utility shelf mounted inside the cargo area of a pickup truck equipped with a camper shell. The utility shelf spans across the width of the camper shell resting on the base mounting flanges of the camper shell. The utility shelf has a flat rectangular shelf panel with forward and aft support rails to support objects being transported. Shelf panels are mounted low on the support rails creating a raised edge to keep items in place. Support rails and shelf panel are hinged at midpoint thereby allowing utility shelf to be lifted in the center to fold in half for removal and stowage. Each support rail hinge incorporates a concealed stop to keep the shelf flat when deployed. Support rail hinges are designed to reduce the possibility of pinched fingers while deploying. The ends of each support rail incorporate a tool free adjustable extender to allow for proper fit.

SIDEVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH AN EXTENDABLE CAMERA
20220324383 · 2022-10-13 ·

A sideview mirror assembly for a vehicle can comprise a body including a sideview mirror housing. The sideview mirror assembly can include a camera located in the body about the sideview mirror housing. The camera can have a field-of-view including an above-horizontal region directed rearward toward an overhead target position past the sideview mirror housing. The camera can be mounted for movement relative to the body between a normal position, in which the sideview mirror housing intersects the camera and the overhead target position in the above-horizontal region, and an extended position, in which the sideview mirror housing does not intersect the camera and the overhead target position in the above-horizontal region. Movement of the camera from the normal position to the extended position can unblock camera visibility of the overhead target position by the sideview mirror housing.

Sensor Module For Being Mounted on a Panel Component of a Motor Vehicle and Panel Component Comprising Such a Sensor Module
20230158966 · 2023-05-25 ·

Sensor module for mounting on a motor vehicle panel component having a sensor housing, at least one environment sensor, at least part of which is disposed in the sensor housing, and which is configured to send and/or receive electromagnetic signals to thus detect a vehicle environment, and a kinematic system having a drive configured to move the sensor housing from a retracted position into at least one deployed position. The kinematic system is configured to move the sensor housing into a first deployed position, which activates the at least one environment sensor to detect the vehicle environment in a portion of its field of view, and to move the sensor housing into a second deployed position, which activates the at least one environment sensor to detect the vehicle environment in its entire field of view.

Receiving device and method for damping a movement of a moving element of a receiving device

Receiving device for receiving objects in a vehicle interior, having a receiving element and a movement element, the receiving element having a receiving space bounded laterally by a casing section and at a lower end by a base section at least in sections and has an access opening at an upper end. The movement element mounted in the receiving space displaceable between closed and release positions by a bearing device. Movement element closing the access opening at least in sections in the closed and release positions. The movement element releasing access through the access opening into the receiving space. The receiving element and/or the movement element includes damping device for at least partially damping movement element movement. Method of damping movement of movement element of such receiving device for receiving objects in a vehicle interior.

Support for a camera on a motor vehicle

A support for a camera on a motor vehicle, including at least a main body with a guide and a bracket element which is pivotable relative to the main body and is connected to the main body via at least one guide rail, and which extends along an extent between a first end and a second end, wherein the camera may be arranged on the second end, wherein the first end is arranged on the guide, wherein the bracket element is pivotably connected to the at least one guide rail between the first end and the second end, and wherein, when the bracket element is pivoted, the first end is displaceable along the guide and the bracket element is displaceable along the at least one guide rail.

Display Device, Vehicle, and Method for Operating a Display Device

A display device for the interior of a vehicle, includes: (i) a display unit which is designed to optically display information and which is arranged or can be arranged on a roofliner of the vehicle, and (ii) a movement unit which is designed to move the display unit between different use settings along the direction of longitudinal extension of the vehicle in a controllable and/or regulatable manner and/or to hold the display unit in a specified use setting. A first use setting has a first position for or in a front seat row, when viewed in the direction of longitudinal extension, and a second use setting has a second position for or in a rear seat row, when viewed in the direction of longitudinal extension, or for or in a luggage space for the display unit.

Truck cap

A truck cap having a cap body with an opening, and a cap door that is movable between open and closed positions with respect to the opening. At least one hinge that attaches to the cap body and the cap door of the truck cap. The hinge includes a first hinge bracket member and a second hinge bracket member. The first hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket to receive a pivot pin. The second hinge bracket member includes a hinge bracket with an opening sized to receive at least a portion of the pivot pin. The first hinge bracket member and the second hinge bracket member are pivotable with respect to each other about the pivot pin. A longitudinally extending gas prop pivotably attached to the pin extending from the second angled portion of the first hinge bracket member and to the pin of the second hinge bracket member.

VEHICLES WITH AERODYNAMIC SPOILER AND RETRACTABLE SENSING SYSTEMS

A vehicular sensing system, a vehicle and a method of performing one or both of vehicular mapping and navigating operations using the sensing system. The sensing system is secured to a roof or other suitable location on the vehicle and includes one or more sensors configured to acquire at least one of vehicular mapping and navigational data, a retractable mounting structure to move the sensor or sensors between a deployed and stowed position, and an aerodynamic spoiler, air dam or deflector. The body of the spoiler acts as a housing with a recess formed in its upper surface such that upon placement of the spoiler on the roof, the recess provides a location within the spoiler to permit storage of the mounting structure and sensors when they are in their deployed (non data-acquisition) mode of operation. The size and placement of the mounting structure and sensors is such that they do not detract from the aerodynamic or aesthetic qualities of the spoiler.
