VEHICLE PILLAR RELEASE ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS
Pillar release mechanisms and related airbag cushion assemblies. Some embodiments may comprise a curtain airbag assembly comprising an inflator and a curtain airbag cushion configured to be inflated with the inflator. The curtain airbag cushion may extend along an elongated axis and the curtain airbag assembly may be configured to be positioned within and deploy from a panel of a vehicle. The assembly may further comprise a release mechanism coupled with the curtain airbag cushion and configured to be coupled with the panel. The release mechanism may be configured to release the panel using an initial deployment force from the curtain airbag cushion, the initial deployment force being in a direction at least substantially parallel to the elongated axis.
VEHICLE CABIN STRUCTURE
A vehicle cabin structure includes a pillar constituting a framework of a vehicle cabin, and a pillar trim which is an interior member arranged with a clearance from a vehicle cabin inside facing surface of the pillar and covering the vehicle cabin inside facing surface of the pillar. The pillar trim has, in its surface facing toward inside of the vehicle cabin, a slit extending along the pillar.
Vehicle interior member
A vehicle interior member which absorbs input energy of a load properly is provided. A center pillar trim includes a trim body configured to cover a center pillar, and an absorber provided between the trim body and the center pillar. The absorber includes: a plurality of horizontal ribs rising perpendicularly to a face of the trim body having their respective faces opposed to each other; a contact surface provided continuously across the plurality of ribs so as to oppose to a bead-shaped part, which is provided at the center pillar to partially bulge on the cabin side.
Trim panel assembly
A trim panel assembly includes a trim panel configured to be removably connected to a pillar of a vehicle body structure. A connecting member includes a first part connected to the trim panel and a second part configured to be connected to the pillar. The first part is configured to be separable from the second part. A fastening member is connected between the first and second parts of the connecting member to limit a separation distance of the trim panel when the first part separates from the second part.
RETAINING ASSEMBLY FOR A TRIM ELEMENT OF A VEHICLE
It comprises: a clip holder (4) entirely integral with the trim element (1), comprising: a proximal portion (5) connected to the trim element (1), anda distal portion (6) on which is fitted a clip (8) that is shaped so as to secure to a body element (2), the proximal portion (5) and the distal portion (6) being joined by a breakable region (9) that is designed to break in the event of deployment of an airbag (3), and the distal portion (6) being able to move between a rest position in which the breakable region (9) joins the distal portion (6) to the proximal portion (5) and a deployment position in which the distal portion (6) is no longer joined to the proximal portion (5) by virtue of the breakable region (9) breaking, anda retention element (11) that is designed to retain the distal portion (6) on the trim element (1) when the distal portion (6) is in the deployment position.
Pillar garnish
An elongated pillar garnish configured to be attached to a gap between a peripheral edge portion of a window pane of a vehicle and a pillar of the vehicle, the pillar garnish including: an elongated attachment member for attaching the pillar garnish to the gap; and an elongated decorative member assembled to a front surface side of the attachment member, in which the attachment member includes an elongated main body part, and a cover part provided to at least one end of the main body part in a longitudinal direction, in which the cover part has a covering portion covering at least a part of a front surface of the decorative member, and a supporting wall portion erected from the main body part toward the outer side and supporting the covering portion, and in which the supporting wall portion is provided along a direction intersecting with the longitudinal direction.
Trim for a motor vehicle
A trim made of plastics for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, comprises a first component (7) made of plastics and a second component (8) made of plastics. To improve such trim, the first component (7) is at least partly transparent or semi-transparent. The second component (8) includes one or more recesses (10, 11, 12) for a display element and/or for an input element(FIG. 2).
Collapsible grab handle
A vehicle interior panel assembly includes a trim panel, a grab handle supported by the trim panel and rotatable relative to the trim panel between a retracted position and a grabbable position, a spring biasing the grab handle to the retracted position, and a pyrotechnic actuator fixing the grab handle in the grabbable position and dischargeable to release the grab handle from the grabbable position.
Decorative part for a motor vehicle and method for the production thereof
The invention relates to a decorative part (11) for a motor vehicle and a method for the production thereof, having a carrier part (18) and having a covering part (12) made of a single-pane safety glass, which are connected to each other, wherein a bonding agent layer (17) is applied over the entire surface on a fixing side (16) of the covering part (12) opposite the visible side (14) of the decorative part (12), and a layer made of a thermoplastic elastomer (26) is provided over the entire surface on the bonding agent layer (17), by means of which the carrier part (18) is fixedly connected to the covering part (12), wherein at least one sealing lip (34, 51) is moulded on the TPE layer (26).
TRIM PANEL MEMBER FOR A VEHICLE
A trim panel member for a vehicle includes a body portion and first and second arm portions connected to the body portion. The body portion is configured to be connected to a first structural member. The first arm portion is connected to the body portion and extends in a first direction from the body portion. The second arm portion is connected to the body portion and extends in a second direction from the body portion. The second body portion is configured to be connected to a second structural member. The second arm portion includes an outboard portion and an inboard portion. The outboard portion has a hook member configured to engage the second structural member. The hook member extends downwardly from the outboard portion. The inboard portion is configured to be spaced from the second structural member when the trim panel member is connected to the vehicle.
