CABLE SYSTEM FOR A TRUCK TRAILER
A cable system for a truck trailer for reducing the number and/or size of wiring in a commercial trailer cable system from seven to four, three, or two, while also facilitating bidirectional communication with all connected electronic devices in the trailer. The cable system has a ground cable, a power cable, and zero, one or two additional communication cables that may carry analog and/or digital communications between the control circuit and components of the trailer such as turn signal lamps, brake lamps, backup cameras, environmental sensors, and the like. A transformer for increasing the voltage on the power cable is disclosed, allowing the power and ground cables to be smaller without reducing power delivered to the trailer.
Modular power distribution device
A modular power distribution device for vehicles that couples to adjacent devices mechanically and electrically without a common housing or mounting plate. The devices share user selectable electrical connections internally to change the function of the devices and reduce the complexity of adding additional devices. The electrical contacts on the device are protected by a weather-resistant seal created when the device engages with wiring, adjacent devices or the provided covers. Covers may also house a communications receiver/transceiver and a microcontroller to control the device using wired or wireless communications. A mounting bracket is removably attached to each device and may be separated from the device without removing the mounting bracket from the vehicle. Each device can couple to a preceding device while the preceding device remains mounted to a substrate and connected to wiring. The devices may house semiconductor relays or electromechanical relays for use in direct current electrical systems.
Dynamic quality of service control for automotive ethernet
A system for transferring a frame within an Ethernet network of a vehicle. The system includes an Ethernet switch, first and second feature modules and a NAM. The Ethernet switch includes first and second ports connected respectively to the first and second feature modules. The NAM: receives a priority request message from the second feature module; generates a priority response message indicating information for the second feature module to set a priority level of a frame; and transmits the priority response message to the second feature module. The Ethernet switch: receives the frame from the second feature module at the first port, where the frame has a first bit indicative of the priority level and a second bit indicative of a port of the first feature module; and forwards the frame, based on the first and second bits, to a corresponding one of the queues having the priority level and for transmission to the port of the first feature module.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REDUCING THE NUMBER OF ANALOG INPUTS AT A CONTROL DEVICE
The invention relates to a device and a method for reducing the number of analog inputs at a control device (16). It is proposed that at least two physical signals, which are different from each other, are transmitted at an analog input of the control device (16).
VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT
The vehicle control unit includes: a plurality of functional units mounted on the vehicle; a temperature detection unit for detecting temperature; and a controller for controlling an operation of each functional unit. An importance is set for each of the functional units, and the controller executes the operation restriction process that restricts the operation of each functional unit having a low importance according to the temperature detected by the temperature detection unit.
VEHICLE SECURITY MONITORING APPARATUS, METHOD AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A vehicle security monitoring apparatus is capable of communicating with an in-vehicle network having a function of transmitting log data related to an operation state of an in-vehicle apparatus, and the vehicle security monitoring apparatus is configured to acquire the log data, and to detect an abnormal state in the in-vehicle network based on the acquired log data. The vehicle security monitoring apparatus is configured to estimate an influence range affected by the detected abnormal state, and to manage information indicating the estimated influence range.
Methods and Apparatuses for Secure Communication Between a First and a Second Communication Partner
Methods and apparatuses for secure communication between a first and a second communication partner are provided. The method for secure communication between a first and a second communication partner comprises establishing a communication link between the first and the second communication partner. Further, the method comprises determining one or more session identifiers by one of the first and the second communication partner. The method additionally comprises communicating the one or more session identifiers to the other of the first and the second communication partner. The method comprises determining, for each of the one or more session identifiers, a respective symmetric session key in each of the first and the second communication partner. In addition, the method comprises storing the one or more session identifiers and the corresponding symmetric session keys in each of the first and the second communication partner for one or more subsequent secure communication sessions.
BRAKING SYSTEM HAVING A REDUNDANT PARKING BRAKE FUNCTION
A braking system for a motor vehicle has a plurality of hydraulic brake units for braking each braking one wheel of the motor vehicle and a first electric parking brake actuator for braking a first wheel and a second electric parking brake actuator for braking a second wheel. A first control device comprises a first hydraulic controller which is designed and set up to drive the plurality of hydraulic brake units. In order to ensure parking brake redundancy, the first control device has a driver for driving the first parking brake actuator. A second control device is also provided, which comprises a driver for driving the first parking brake actuator and a driver for driving the second parking brake actuator.
Power distribution system
Disclosed is a power distribution system, comprising a power feed line configured to supply electric power of a given power feed line voltage, a plurality of solid state power control modules connected to the power feed line; each of the solid state power control modules comprising at least one solid state power controller connected to at least one load to be supplied with power from the power feed line and configured to selectively connect the respective load to the power feed line or to disconnect the respective load from the power feed line; the power feed line comprising at least one power feed line segment connecting two adjacent solid state power control modules; wherein the at least two adjacent solid state power control modules are connected by a further electric line connected in parallel to the at least one power feed line segment.
MULTI-LEVEL VIDEO PROCESSING WITHIN A VEHICULAR COMMUNICATION NETWORK
A system for controlling power distribution within a vehicular communication network, including a power source equipment comprising a first port in communication with a network node module of a device, and a Power over Ethernet (POE) management module. The POE management module is configured to enable POE to the device via the first port, monitor a current draw of the device, determine whether the current draw of the device exceeds a threshold, and disable POE to the device, responsive to determining that the current draw exceeds the threshold.
