ROCK RAIL ASSEMBLY

A rock rail assembly for a vehicle includes a mounting assembly coupled to the vehicle and comprising a shock absorption pad, and a rail assembly pivotably coupled to the mounting assembly and having a rail. The shock absorption pad is the vehicle-laterally-outboardmost portion of the mounting assembly. The rail assembly is operable to pivot relative to the mounting assembly to move the rail between a stowed position and a deployed position. In the stowed position of the rail, a portion of the rail abuts the shock absorption pad.

VEHICLE BUMPER DEVICE

A vehicle bumper device includes: (i) a bumper beam formed of a continuous fiber reinforced plastic and including (a) a central portion that extends in a vehicle width direction and (b) a left-right pair of lateral portions that respectively extend from opposite ends of the central portion and curve toward a vehicle body; and (ii) bumper auxiliary portions formed of a short fiber reinforced plastic different from the continuous fiber reinforced plastic and protruding respectively from the lateral portions outward in a vehicle front-rear direction. The bumper beam defines an upper surface section, a lower surface section, a collision load receiving section that faces outward in the vehicle front-rear direction and a vehicle body attachment section that has an opening oriented toward the vehicle body, and has an approximately U-shaped cross section. The lateral portions each have at least one ridgeline defined by a surface step formed on the upper surface section or the lower surface section. The ridgeline extends between the collision load receiving section and the vehicle body attachment section.

BUMPER CROSS MEMBER SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, MODULAR SYSTEM, AND MOTOR VEHICLE HAVING SUCH A BUMPER CROSS MEMBER SYSTEM

A bumper cross member system for a motor vehicle having a base structure including a bumper cross member that, in the post-assembly position, extends transversely relative to the vehicle, and two crash boxes that, in the post-assembly position, extend from the bumper cross member longitudinally relative to the vehicle, at least one of the following add-on elements being configured on the base structure: a cross member expansion element, which, starting from an outer side of the bumper cross member, extends transversely relative to the vehicle outwardly in such a way that an extended base structure having an enlarged width is obtained, and/or a crash box extender element that extends from the bumper cross member in the post-assembly position forwardly longitudinally relative to the vehicle in such a way that an extended base structure having an elongated crash box is obtained. Also, a modular system and a motor vehicle having a bumper cross member system.
