BUMPER ASSEMBLY
A bumper includes a carrier having a wall extending along a longitudinal axis, and a first leg and a second leg extending away from the wall in a first direction. A plurality of fins are movably attached to the carrier between the first leg and the second leg, and are spaced from each other the longitudinal axis. The fins may be moved to a deployed position to reinforce the bumper to improve low-speed damageability of the bumper, and may be moved to an inactive position, which may allow a fascia to more easily deform relative to the deployed position to provide energy absorption for pedestrian impacts.
Beams with U-shaped cross-section
A beam comprising a first portion having a U-shaped cross-section, wherein the U-shape comprises a bottom and a first and a second side wall extending substantially perpendicular to the bottom, and wherein the first and/or the second side wall comprises a first substantially straight portion, a second substantially straight portion and a side transition zone between the first and the second substantially straight portion. The disclosure further relates to bumpers, rocker panels, side impact beams and B-pillars comprising such beams and to vehicles incorporating such components.
Vehicle body front structure
A vehicle body front structure of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle is equipped with a bumper beam disposed on a front side of a vehicle body and extending in a vehicle width direction. The bumper beam is fixed at its lateral end portions in the vehicle width direction to the vehicle body. A guide member is disposed on each lateral end portion of the bumper beam to cover a laterally outer end surface of the bumper beam in the vehicle width direction. The guide member has a deformation allowance caused to extend in a collision in accordance with a displacement of the bumper beam.
Member for ratcheting between a moving component and adjacent structure
A vehicle comprises: a vehicle body having a front and a rear; a vehicle chassis supporting the vehicle body, the vehicle chassis including a chassis portion; a component attached to the front of the vehicle body; and a member comprising (i) an elongate portion having teeth, and (ii) an attachment portion attaching the member to one of the chassis portion or the component, wherein the member is configured for ratcheting of the teeth against an edge of the other of the chassis portion or the component due to relative movement between the component and the chassis portion.
Vehicle front bumper and vehicle-body structure including the same
A front bumper includes a bumper fascia, an upper panel, and a shock absorbing member and a rigidity member in the interior of the upper panel. The shock absorbing member is formed in a hat shape in cross section by a front wall, an upper wall (a front-side upper wall and a rear-side upper wall), a rear wall, and a lower wall. The rigidity member includes an upper end portion fixed to the upper wall, a lower end portion fixed to the lower wall, and an intermediate portion connecting the upper end portion and the lower end portion in the vehicle up-down direction. The intermediate portion is spaced apart from the rear wall in the vehicle front-rear direction.
Bumper Cross Beam For A Motor Vehicle
A bumper crossmember for a motor vehicle having a crossmember extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and two crashboxes connected thereto. Each crashbox is connected with its end facing away from the vehicle to the crossmember in a respective end section thereof, and with its end facing the vehicle is connectable to a structural component of the vehicle, e.g., a longitudinal member. The crossmember has a corrugated structure in the area where a crashbox is connected. A tow sleeve is integrated into the bumper crossmember in the connection area of the crashbox. The tow sleeve is held in a vertex structure of the corrugated structure in a form-fitting manner in the z and y directions, the vertex area of this vertex structure facing away from the crashbox, with the lateral surface of the tow sleeve on the flanks facing one another and forming the vertex structure.
FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY FOR MOUNTING A SEAT AND BALLAST MEANS AND ADD-ON STRUCTURE IN VEHICLE
Front bumper assembly 200 for mounting a seat and ballast means and add-on structure in vehicle is provided. Front bumper assembly 200 includes a bumper frame 202, a mounting member 204 and a plurality of reinforcement members 206. The bumper frame 202 includes a base frame 202B and a plurality of legs 202L. The front bumper assembly 200 is removably connected to a vehicular structure C at a first position in which each leg 202L of the bumper frame 202 is horizontally connected to the vehicular structure C, and a second position in which each leg 202L of the bumper frame 202 is vertically connected to the vehicular structure C. The front bumper assembly 200 is adapted to removably receive at least one of an operator's seat S, a ballast means and an add-on structure when the front bumper assembly 200 is in the second position.
BUMPER ARRANGEMENT
A bumper arrangement includes a cross member and two deformation elements for arrangement between end regions of the cross member and longitudinal members of a motor vehicle. The cross member is hollow with a front and rear walls and upper and lower walls. The front wall has a depression extending in longitudinal direction of the cross member. The depression has a deepest region extending at a distance from the rear wall. The upper and lower walls of the cross member each have in the end regions a further depression which extends in longitudinal direction of the cross member, so that the upper wall and the lower wall are more corrugated in the end regions than in a central region of the cross member, so that the distance between the front wall and the rear wall in the end regions is smaller than in a central region of the cross member.
BUMPER-REINFORCING SYSTEM FOR MOTOR VEHICLE
A bumper-reinforcing system (1) intended for a motor vehicle includes: a bumper beam (2) with a single-piece elongated profile with a closed cross section and including a center zone (21) extending at least over part of the entire width of the bumper beam and an end zone (22) at each extremity of the bumper beam, two bumper fasteners (3) connected to the rear side of the bumper beam (2) at the intersection between the center zone (21) and the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2), two reinforcing tubes (4) connected by their first end to the rear side of the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2), extending from the bumper beam (2) so as to form an angle α below 45° with the vertical plane of symmetry of the bumper beam and suited to be connected by their other end on the front rail of the vehicle for which the bumper-reinforcing system (1) is provided, and two covers (5) with a single-piece elongated profile with an open cross section, in contact with the rear side of the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2) and extending at least from the first end of one of the reinforcing tubes (4) to one of the bumper fasteners (3).
VEHICLE BUMPER ASSEMBLY
A bumper assembly includes a bumper beam, an extension, a crush can, and a bracket. The bumper beam extends longitudinally from a first end to a second end. The extension attaches to the first end of the bumper beam and has a segment parallel to the bumper beam and a leg extending transversely relative to the bumper beam. The crush can is attached to the segment. The bracket extends from the extension and is welded to the crush can.
