[Resolution Means] A typical configuration of an airbag apparatus 100 according to the present invention includes: an inflator 118 which is installed in a vehicle so as to be capable of supplying gas; an inner bag 112 which is expanded from in front of a seat utilizing the gas; and an outer bag 110 to which the gas is supplied from the inflator 118 or via the inner bag 112 and expanded so as to surround the inner bag 112. The outer bag 110 includes an opening 116 which exposes the inner bag 112 towards the seat 104, wherein the inner bag 112 has a more elongated shape in the anteroposterior direction of the vehicle than in the width direction of the vehicle, and the inner bag 112 further includes a restraining part 114 which is exposed on the recessed surface from the opening 116 to the seat side.

The present invention relates to a seat airbag for a vehicle in which a cushion storage space 810 capable of accommodating a front cushion 200 is provided at a front end 720 connected to the front cushion 200 in a side cushion 100, and the front cushion 200 folded in a bellows type is inserted and accommodated into the cushion storage space 810. The side cushion 100 and the front cushion 200 can be deployed sequentially with a time difference, so that the reliability of the cushion deployment can be secured.

The side protecting chambers 1ab are coupled by coupling sections 12a positioned to the sides of the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle seat 2, and the coupling section 12a is thinner than the side protecting chambers 1ab at least during initial expansion and deployment.

The latch can engage and lock the front guard in the unfolded position, and the backrest frame is rotatable to cause a displacement of the linking part that urges the latch to disengage and unlock the front guard. The folding mechanism is configured to keep the front guard in the unfolded position while the backrest frame is deployed for use, and to unlock the front guard as the backrest frame rotates toward the collapsed position.

A front head/torso airbag (10) of a vehicle occupant restraint system includes a cover surface (12) and a baffle surface (14) forming a contact face for the vehicle occupant (22) which merges Into the cover surface (12). An apparatus and method for helping to protect occupants of an autonomous vehicle in the event of a collision. An airbag has a stored, pre-deployment condition in a vehicle roof. The airbag is deployable downward toward the vehicle floor in front of a vehicle occupant. The airbag includes an upper portion for receiving the occupants head and torso. A lower portion extends downward and forward from the upper portion. The lower portion is for receiving the occupants lower legs.

Seat airbag for vehicle

A seat airbag for a vehicle is installed in a side part of a seat back and an airbag cushion thereof is deployed forward. A front portion of the cushion is divided into a head chamber disposed at an upper location, a chest chamber disposed at a central location and a pelvis chamber disposed at a lower location. The airbag protects a vehicle occupant while wrapping around the occupant with use of a first tether to a fourth tether that are integrally formed into a single string and connect the respective chambers to each other.

Seat-mounted airbag device

A seat-mounted airbag device may include a seatback cushion built in a seatback of a vehicle. The seatback cushion includes side portions configured to be deployed from both side peripheral portions of a seat to a front of the seat to protect sides of an occupant when deployed by gas supplied by an inflator into the seatback cushion. Chest portions of the seatback cushion extend from front ends of the side portions to surround a chest of the occupant to protect the chest of the occupant. The airbag device includes one or more seatback tethers connected to a seat frame and mounted in the seat. When the seatback cushion is deployed, the seatback tethers are deployed along with the seatback cushion to support the chest in a top-bottom direction thereof, thereby supporting an upper body of the occupant.
