A hi-back vehicle seat and seat pad restraint system includes a vehicle seat assembly having a vehicle seat back and a vehicle seat operatively connected to the vehicle seat back, a hi-back vehicle seat assembly operatively connected to the vehicle seat assembly, a vehicle safety belt assembly operatively connected to the vehicle seat assembly, wherein the vehicle safety belt assembly interacts with the hi-back vehicle seat assembly, a seat pad assembly located on the vehicle and attached to the vehicle seat assembly. Furthermore, the hi-back vehicle seat assembly can be equipped with a five (5) point harness. Also, the seat pad assembly can be equipped with a seat pad assembly restraining shoulder strap and a restraining shoulder strap connector to keep the shoulder portion of vehicle seat belts correctly positioned over the torso of the end user.

Provided is a belt assist device having a compact configuration and being configured to move a seatbelt to an easily reachable position. A vehicle seat includes a belt assist device attached to a lateral portion of a seat back and configured to move a portion of a seatbelt placed on the lateral portion to the easily reachable position. The belt assist device includes a rotary member attached to a recessed housing portion of the lateral portion via a rotary shaft and configured to rotate up and down between a housing position at which the rotary member is housed in the seat back and a protruding position at which the rotary member rotates to protrude forward of the seat back to push out a portion of the seatbelt. The rotary member is disposed forward of a belt guide provided at the periphery of an upper end of the seat back.

Safety belt positioning and presentation systems

A system includes a first anchor that is disposed adjacent an upper portion of a seat back and that is selectively positionable between a first position on a first axis and a second position along the first axis. The system further includes a second anchor disposed adjacent a lower portion of the seat back. The second anchor is selectively coupled to the first anchor. The system further includes a third anchor disposed adjacent the lower portion of the seat back, the third anchor being selectively coupled to the second anchor and separated by a distance on a second axis from the second anchor. The first anchor, the second anchor, and the third anchor are jointly positionable when the second anchor is coupled to the first anchor and when the third anchor is coupled to the second anchor.

Seat belt assembly

An assembly includes a seat, a lap retractor fixed relative to the seat, a shoulder retractor fixed relative to the seat, and a first buckle fixed relative to the seat. A lap belt is retractably extendable from the lap retractor. A first tongue is fixed to the lap belt and is releasably engageable with the first buckle. A second buckle is fixed to the lap belt. A shoulder belt is retractably extendable from the shoulder retractor. A second tongue is fixed to the shoulder belt and is releasably engageable with the second buckle.

A vehicle seat includes a seat pad, an insertion hole that passes through the seat pad, a covering portion that covers an inner wall of the insertion hole, a holding plate that holds a distal end of the covering portion, a buckle for a seat belt, and a support plate. In the vehicle seat, the buckle includes a buckle main body, a coupling portion, and an attachment member. The support plate is displaceable between a first state and a second state, the holding plate includes an insertion window portion, and the support plate includes a passage portion that allows the coupling portion to pass through the passage portion but does not allow the buckle main body to pass through the passage portion in a state where the support plate overlaps with the insertion window portion.

The belt buckle is guided via at least one wire rope through a sleeve-like deflection element, which defines the course of the wire rope between its connection point on the seat side and its connection point on the belt buckle side. The sleeve-like deflection element has a predetermined deformation point, at which the deflection element is deformed in the event of a head-on collision, more specifically with the belt buckle being displaced from its use position into a crash position in which the tilt or twist moments acting on the belt buckle are reduced.

Vehicle seat, seating assembly for a vehicle, and method of assembling thereof

A vehicle seat that can include a seat cushion and a concealing lid. The seat cushion can include a lower foam portion, an upper foam portion, and a buckle hole that extends through each of the lower foam portion and the upper foam portion. The concealing lid can be movably connected to the seat cushion to selectively close and open at least a portion of the buckle hole. The concealing lid can span at least a portion of the buckle hole when the concealing lid is in the closed position. The concealing lid can include an end portion that extends into a gap between the upper foam portion and the lower foam portion when the concealing lid is in the closed position. The end portion of the concealing lid can be spaced away from lower foam portion when the concealing lid is in the opened position.
