SEAT BELT RETRACTOR
A seat belt retractor (40) having a belt spool (14), a seat belt (12) that can be wound thereon to a belt spool, and at least a first and a second assembly (1, 2), wherein the first and the second assembly (1, 2) are arranged coaxially to each other and at a first angle (A) to the rotational axis (B) of the belt spool (14) and are connected together by a flex coupling or an angular gear.
Load limiting seatbelt retractor
A seatbelt retractor includes a spool, a piston, a cylinder, a ring, and a valve. The spool is rotatably connected with a base by the piston and the cylinder. The piston is fixed to one of the base and the spool. The cylinder receives the piston and is fixed to the other of the base and the spool. The piston and the cylinder define a first chamber. The ring is sealed against the cylinder and defines a second chamber connected with the first chamber by an aperture. The valve is disposed across the aperture.
Seat belt retractor with adaptive load limiting
A seat belt retractor comprises (a) a rotatable spool on which seat belt webbing is wound and (b) a load-limiting system to limit a load applied to a vehicle occupant by the webbing. The load-limiting system includes a flow control orifice through which fluid is forced when a load in excess of a predetermined load is applied to the rotatable spool by the webbing. The cross-sectional flow area of the flow control orifice is adjustable in response to unwinding of webbing from the rotatable spool prior to a vehicle crash event and ceases to be adjustable after the crash event is in progress. The load-limiting system also includes a piston in a cylinder. The piston and cylinder are operatively coupled to the spool such that rotation of the spool causes the piston to move relative to the cylinder, which movement causes fluid to be forced through the flow control orifice.
Seat belt retractor assembly
A seat belt retractor for use with a seat belt webbing includes a spindle, a tread head part, a torsion bar, a stop nut and an energy management element. The spindle is configured for winding the seat belt webbing around the spindle. The tread head part is configured for having a locked condition or a free condition. The torsion bar is engaged with the spindle and the tread head part and configured to deflect torsionally by allowing relative rotation between the spindle and the tread head part when the tread head part is in the locked condition. The stop nut is operatively coupled with the tread head part and the spindle and configured to move in axial direction. Furthermore, the energy management element placed between the stop nut and the tread head part is configured to be deformed by the axial movement of the stop nut.
WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
In this webbing take-up device, a first bend portion, a second bend portion, and a third bend portion are formed in a wire. In an initial state of the wire, the wire is supported by a second squeezing portion by being abutted against the second squeezing portion on a base end side in the longitudinal direction thereof from the second bend portion, and is supported by a third squeezing portion by being abutted against the third squeezing portion on a base end side in the longitudinal direction thereof from the third bend portion. As a result, the timings when the wire starts to be squeezed by each one of a first squeezing portion, the second squeezing portion, and the third squeezing portion can each be mutually offset.
VEHICLE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR
A seat belt retractor includes a core having an outer surface, a cover having an inner surface facing the outer surface. and a plurality of tubes between the cover and the core. The plurality of tubes is deformable relative to at least one of the core and the cover. Each tube has an outer periphery. The entire periphery of each tube is movable relative to the outer surface and the inner surface.
Cover for a seatbelt retractor assembly to reduce audible noise and a seatbelt retractor assembly including the cover
A cover for a seatbelt retractor assembly comprising: a first layer having an inside surface configured to face a seatbelt webbing retracted by a seatbelt retractor assembly, an outside surface configured to face away from the seatbelt webbing, a plurality of holes disposed through the first layer from the inside surface through to the outside surface, and baffles adjacent each of the plurality of holes. The cover reduces audible noise generated by moving components of the seatbelt retractor assembly. The baffles adjacent each of the plurality of holes are disposed on the inside surface. The cover can further include a second layer, which includes a sound absorbing material such as foam. The second layer at least partially covers the outside surface of the first layer and covers the plurality of holes. The cover can further include snap fit fastening elements to connect the cover to the seatbelt retractor assembly.
MODULAR SEATBELT RETRACTOR
A belt retractor (40) having a belt reel (14), a seat belt (12) which can be wound thereon to form a belt reel, and at least one first assembly, the first assembly being arranged coaxially with the axis of rotation of the belt reel (14) and in series with the belt reel (14). The belt retractor is especially adapted for mounting inside the frame member of a motor vehicle seat.
Webbing take-up device
A serrated portion is formed on an outer peripheral portion of a lock base body of a lock base of a webbing take-up device. Furthermore, a flange portion is formed on the outer peripheral portion of the lock base body. The flange portion is disposed on a vehicle front side with respect to the serrated portion. Triangular grooves of the serrated portion are closed by the flange portion. When the lock base becomes displaced in a vehicle rearward direction and the flange portion comes into abutting contact with a leg plate of a frame, further displacement of the lock base in the vehicle rearward direction is blocked. Due to this, engagement between the serrated portion and ratchet teeth of a ratchet hole in the leg plate can be maintained.
