Force-limiting device for a seat belt system

A force-limiting device (4) for a seat belt device which has at least two parts (5, 11, 15) controlled with a frequency-dependent, defined movement, wherein the parts (5, 11,15) moving relative to one another feature gearings (8, 10, 18, 19) engaging into each other and the frequency-dependent, controlled movement occurs such that at least one of the parts (5, 11, 15) executes a feed movement (V) with respect to the other part (5, 11,15) with an undulating motion (Q) perpendicular to the feed movement (V) in which the gearings (8, 10, 18, 19) alternatingly engage and disengage, by means of which a force limited belt extraction is facilitated. Wherein means are provided with which the required force for movement of the parts (5, 11, 15) toward one another can be automatically increased after a preset belt extraction length.

To provide a seatbelt retractor and a seatbelt device that can suppress the occurrence of abnormal noise. A seatbelt retractor 1 includes a spool 2 that retracts webbing configured to restrain an occupant, a base frame 3 that houses the spool 2 rotatably, and a lock mechanism 4 that restricts rotation of the spool 2. The lock mechanism 4 includes a locking base 41, a pawl 42, a pawl spring 43, and a lock gear 44. The pawl 42 includes a first restraint portion 42a that restrains movement of the pawl 42 in one rotating direction of the spool 2 while being located inside an outer periphery of the locking base 41, and a second restraint portion 42b that restrains the movement of the pawl 42 in an opposite rotating direction of the spool 2 while the movement is retrained by the first restraint portion 42a.

Self-locking belt retractor anti-rattle action on its belt-strap-sensitive control system that is effective in the winding direction of the belt shaft

A self-locking belt retractor for seat belts having a belt-strap-sensitive control mechanism with a control disc coupled to the belt shaft to control a locking element, by means of a pin moveably in an oblong hole in the control disc. The control disc carries an inertia element that, when triggered, radially swivels to lock the retractor belt shaft engages into a stationary toothed section. A control clip has two spaced apart legs on a friction mount between a blocking position of the inertia element and a release position. A follower forms stop surfaces engageable with the clip legs to carry the control clip during the rotation of the control disc belt winding direction a belt extension direction. The control clip releases the inertia element in the release position. One spring leg extends with an end into the movement path of the pin in the oblong hole.

When end lock has occurred in a seat belt retractor due to winding-up of a webbing, the end lock is easily and surely released. A stop part (6G) engages with a lock arm (40) displaced in a locking operation direction and stops the lock arm (40). A lock mechanism (9), in a state where the lock arm (40) stands still on the stop part (6G), starts operation with rotation in a pull-out direction (P) of a winding drum and stops rotation of the winding drum. A transmission mechanism (19) transmits rotation of the winding drum to the lock arm (40) and displaces the lock arm (40) in a release direction to release the engagement with the stop part (6G) is released between the time when operation of the lock mechanism (9) is started and the time when rotation of the winding drum is stopped. Release means (18) releases the engagement between the lock arm (40) and the stop part (6G) by the transmission mechanism (19).
