VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM
20180244241 · 2018-08-30 ·

A vehicle security system for monitoring a vehicle and notifying a user includes at least two image capture devices (ICD), sensors, a global positioning system tracking module (GPSTM), a control module (CM), and a monitoring device. The ICD are positioned at predetermined locations of the vehicle for capturing and transmitting images of a target object. The sensors generate sensor data variables based on a detection of the target object. The GPSTM generates and transmits signals based on a position of the vehicle to a monitoring device. The CM receives the captured images and sensor data variables. The CM analyzes the received images and sensor data variables based on predefined criteria to trigger auxiliary units. The CM transmits the images and sensor data variables based on the predefined criteria to the monitoring device. A graphical user interface displays the images for monitoring the vehicle and notifies the user.

A vehicle arresting device and method provides a flexible net that is designed to be launched into the path of a target vehicle. The net may provide upwardly pointing spikes that are designed to embed into the tire of the target vehicle thereby causing the flexible net to wrap around the tires of the target vehicle which cause the tires to stop rotating and brings the target vehicle to a safe stop. The arresting device may be remotely controlled by the user.

Self-arming immobilizer system, apparatus and method
09878691 · 2018-01-30 ·

There is disclosed a self-arming immobilizer system for immobilizing a vehicle. In an embodiment, the system comprises a signal input for receiving a signal indicating the absence of an authorized operator in a position of control in the vehicle; and an immobilizer unit adapted to receive the signal input, and in response to the signal indicating the absence of an authorized operator in a position of control in the vehicle, switch one or more relays to disable one or more circuits in the vehicle to immobilize and secure the vehicle. In an embodiment, upon arming, the immobilizer unit is adapted to passively disarm the vehicle upon detection of a first key fob within a defined first distance from a sensor located on the vehicle. In another embodiment, the first key fob is operable to wirelessly arm or disarm the vehicle from a defined second distance from a sensor located on the vehicle.

Measures for use in operating a key module (100) associated with a vehicle. A proximity of the vehicle key module to a mobile telephony device (102) associated with an authorized user of the vehicle is monitored at the vehicle key module (100). In response to the monitoring indicating that a distance between the vehicle key module and the mobile telephony device (102) has exceeded a predetermined threshold distance, the vehicle key module transmits a lack of proximity alert message to the mobile telephony device. An operational status change code associated with one or more of the vehicle and the vehicle key module (100) is received by the vehicle key module (100) from the mobile telephony device (102). On the basis of the received operational status change code, an operational status change in relation to one or more of the vehicle and the vehicle key module is initiated.

A system, method, and apparatus for disabling and/or enabling a vehicle. In one embodiment, the invention can be a method including transmitting a disable command to an electronic apparatus that is operably coupled to a vehicle. The electronic apparatus may be configured to transition the vehicle between an enabled state wherein operation of the vehicle is permitted and a disabled state wherein operation of the vehicle is prohibited. The method may further include, after the electronic apparatus receives the disable command, sending a test signal from the electronic apparatus to a remote server over a wireless network upon the vehicle being parked. When the test signal is not successfully sent to the remote server, the vehicle may remain in or be returned to the enabled state. When the test signal is successfully sent to the remote server, the vehicle may remain in or be returned to the disabled state.

VEHICLE THROTTLE LOCKING CIRCUIT AND METHOD
20170114743 · 2017-04-27 ·

A vehicle throttle locking circuit and method are provided. A control unit receives detection voltages from a pedal sensor and, when a clamping actuation signal is ON, digital clamping voltages are gradually reduced according to the detection voltages. AD/A conversion unit converts the digital clamping voltages to analog clamping voltages. A variable voltage clamping unit clamps the detection voltages according to the analog clamping voltages. The gradual reduction of the digital clamping voltages are stopped when the detection voltages are already clamped at an idle condition so that the pedal is effectively locked at the idle condition. As such, the present invention not only provides anti-theft function, but also avoids traffic accident and hazard to the safety of the driver or passers due to the vehicle's sudden loss of power.
