Embodiments of the present invention are generally directed towards providing a multipurpose event detection sensor and a communications means for delivering a payload notification. In particular, embodiments of the present invention are configured to provide a system comprising a sensor capable of detecting events, such as vibrations of varying forms and amplitude, generating an alert based on certain parameters of those events and transmitting that alert to a remote system via a communications means.

Vehicle Ambient Audio Classification Via Neural Network Machine Learning
20180108369 · 2018-04-19 ·

A method and an apparatus for detecting and classifying sounds around a vehicle via neural network machine learning are described. The method involves an audio recognition system that may determine the origin of the sounds being inside or outside of a vehicle and classify the sounds into different categories such as adult, child, or animal sounds. The audio recognition system may communicate with a plurality of sensors in and around the vehicle to obtain information of conditions of the vehicle. Based on information of the sounds and conditions of the vehicles, the audio recognition system may determine whether an occupant or the vehicle is at risk and send alert messages or issue warning signals.

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND SECURE OPERATING PROGRAM

A method to authenticate operators of motor vehicles includes obtaining, based on a driver's license, operator information of an operator of a motor vehicle. The method further includes authenticating, by a Vehicle Identification and Secure Operating Program (VISOP) running on an onboard computer of the motor vehicle, the operator information with a Motor Vehicle Department (MVD). The method determines, based on the authenticating and vehicle identifying information pertaining to the motor vehicle, whether the operator is approved to operate the motor vehicle. The method performs biometric identification to verify that the driver's license matches the operator. The method prevents the motor vehicle from starting, responsive to the operator not being approved to operate the motor vehicle, and allows the motor vehicle to start, responsive to the operator being approved to operate the motor vehicle. The motor vehicle can include the VMAC when wirelessly transmitting operator information and vehicle identifying information for self-reporting to a passing LEO, e.g., to Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs). This enables LEOs to make safer decisions in pulling over a potential suspect to better protect the public and themselves.

VEHICLE INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE

A vehicle information processing device, for application to a vehicle configured to perform all driving operations under a fixed condition, the device includes; a terminal identification section configured to identify a portable terminal corresponding to authentication information authenticated by an authentication device provided at the vehicle; a driver's terminal setting section configured to set a driver's terminal used by a driver, based on information received from the identified portable terminal; and a notification section configured to notify the driver's terminal in a case in which a predetermined condition is satisfied in an autonomous driving state in which all driving operations are performed by the vehicle.

VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM

A vehicle security system for monitoring a vehicle and notifying a user includes at least two image capture devices (ICD), sensors, a global positioning system tracking module (GPSTM), a control module (CM), and a monitoring device. The ICD are positioned at predetermined locations of the vehicle for capturing and transmitting images of a target object. The sensors generate sensor data variables based on a detection of the target object. The GPSTM generates and transmits signals based on a position of the vehicle to a monitoring device. The CM receives the captured images and sensor data variables. The CM analyzes the received images and sensor data variables based on predefined criteria to trigger auxiliary units. The CM transmits the images and sensor data variables based on the predefined criteria to the monitoring device. A graphical user interface displays the images for monitoring the vehicle and notifies the user.

Cloud-controlled vehicle security system

Incidents may be monitored using a camera in response to an activation of a trigger device. Trigger data may be received over a communication network in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle. A camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle may be controlled over the communication network in response to receiving the trigger data, the controlling causing the camera to capture sensor information of a passenger of the vehicle. Passenger information of the passenger of the vehicle may be obtained in response to receiving the trigger data. An alert notification may be generated. The alert notification may comprise at least a portion of the sensor information of the passenger, and the alert notification may be capable of initiating one or more incident actions associated with the passenger.

Vehicle state presentation system, vehicle, terminal device, and vehicle state presentation method

A terminal device separate from a vehicle includes a receiver that receives a notification signal from the vehicle indicating that the vehicle is in a first state different from a second state, a notification unit that notifies a user of the terminal device of the first state based on the notification signal, an input unit that receives, from the user of the terminal device, an input commanding the first state to be maintained, and a transmitter that transmits a signal to the vehicle based on the input received by the input unit. The vehicle includes a control unit that performs control that maintains the first state after lapse of a predetermined time from a time that the notification unit of the terminal device notifies of the first state of the vehicle when a reception unit of the vehicle receives the signal transmitted from the transmitter within the predetermined time.

Device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking

A device, system, and method for an electronic response to a potential carjacking is provided. A device receives: a location and vehicle ignition status of a vehicle; and sensor data generated by one or more sensors that are onboard the vehicle, the sensor data different from the location and the vehicle ignition status. The device determines whether the location of the vehicle is associated with a carjacking type of location, and whether a combination of the vehicle ignition status and the sensor data meet a carjacking threshold condition. When both the location of the vehicle is associated with the carjacking type of location and the carjacking threshold condition is met, the device: outputs an alert at the vehicle indicative of, or associated with, the potential carjacking; and/or causes, a notification to be transmitted to a communication device associated with a public safety agency or a monitoring service.
