A system includes a host-transceiver, a radar-sensor, and a controller. The host-transceiver is installed in a host-vehicle and detects a signal from a mobile-transceiver. The radar-sensor detecting movement of one or more body parts of a person proximate to the host-vehicle. The controller is in communication with the host-transceiver and the radar-sensor. The controller activates the radar-sensor in accordance with a determination that the mobile-transceiver is within a distance-threshold of the host-vehicle. The controller provides access to the host-vehicle in accordance with a determination that the movement of the one or more body parts corresponds to one or more predetermined gestures.

VEHICLE ALERT FROM A NON-PAIRED DEVICE

A vehicle includes a horn, a plurality of exterior lights, and at least one controller. The at least one controller is configured to grant vehicle system access to a nomadic device paired to the vehicle, and in response to receiving a message that contains data identifying a source of the message while the vehicle is in a key-off state from a nomadic device not paired to the vehicle, activate the horn and exterior lights according to respective patterns.

VEHICULAR ENTRY SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS

Disclosed principles provide vehicular entry systems and methods comprising a sensing system disposed on each of the plurality of doors of the vehicle. Each sensing system detects a touch of a user at a corresponding door only when a presence detection system detects the presence of an authentication unit. Each sensing system causes a corresponding lock/unlock system to unlock a corresponding door of the vehicle, but not unlock any other doors, in response to the detecting of a touch of a user at the corresponding door and only with detection of the authentication unit. Additionally, each sensing system causes a corresponding lock/unlock system to automatically lock a corresponding door, but not lock any other doors, directly in response to a closing of the corresponding door previously unlocked by the corresponding lock/unlock system during the detecting of the authentication unit.

IRIS-DETECTION ALIGNMENT FOR VEHICLE FEATURE ACTIVATION

Method and apparatus are disclosed for iris-detection alignment for vehicle entry and feature activation. An example vehicle includes a window, a camera facing the window, a puddle lamp to project an indicator pointing toward the camera, a UV source, and a controller. The controller is to project, via the UV source, a display onto the window upon detecting a user aligns with the indicator. The controller also is to provide directions to the user, via the display, to position an iris in front of the camera and activate a vehicle feature upon identifying the user via iris recognition.

Method and system for exchanging data between users of a vehicle

This disclosure relates to a method and system for exchanging data between users of a vehicle, including a main user equipped with a first personal electronic device and a secondary user equipped with a second personal electronic device. The method includes a preparatory phase and a transmission phase, which comprise the following steps: the application installed on the first personal electronic device sends data to a remote server including the second email address of the secondary user and instructions for the transfer of information regarding the vehicle; the remote server sends data to an information cloud including the mobile identifier assigned to the application installed on the second device and information regarding the vehicle, and the cloud sends information regarding the vehicle to the application installed on the second personal electronic device.

Systems amd methods for accessing a vehicle using a single, exterior control

An access system for a vehicle includes a first vehicle subsystem configured to control access to an interior compartment of the vehicle, an actuator mounted on the vehicle and movable between first and second positions, and a controller coupled to the actuator and configured to: detect a first actuation sequence of the actuator, the first actuation sequence corresponding to an access code; during the first actuation sequence of the actuator, provide an audible, visual, or tactile response from the vehicle, by causing activation of a vehicle system; compare the access code to an authorization code; and generate a first control signal configured to cause the first vehicle subsystem to switch between a first state and a second state when the access code corresponds to the authorization code.

Slim-type smart card key of vehicle and control method therefor

The present disclosure relates to a slim smart card key for a vehicle and a control method thereof, and improves assembly convenience and product durability by including including the following: a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to which a plurality of electronic components are soldered, which has a predetermined thickness, and in which a spare key receiving part and a battery receiving part are formed, wherein the spare key receiving part is formed by vertically cutting one side of the PCB and thus is vertically hollow, and the battery receiving part is formed by vertically cutting the other side of the PCB and thus is vertically hollow; a body part which has a spare key entrance hole for inserting a spare key through the spare key receiving part, and a battery entrance hole for inserting a battery through the battery receiving part, and which is injection molded to embrace the PCB while the PCB is inserted into a mold; a spare key settling part which is moved toward the spare key receiving part from above or below the PCB before the body part is injection molded, and then sits on and fixed onto a circumference of the spare key receiving part; and a terminal assembly which is moved in the same direction as that of the spare key settling part before the body part is injection molded, and then sits on and fixed onto a circumference of the battery receiving part.

Vehicular power door sensing and operating system

A vehicular access system includes a sensing panel at a door of a vehicle including a panel, at least one capacitive touch sensor for sensing proximity of a user at a touch sensing region of the panel, and a radar sensor sensing exterior of the vehicle. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes a data processor for processing sensor data captured by the radar sensor to detect presence of objects exterior of the vehicle. At least one indicator visually indicates status of the system. Responsive to receiving an open door command, (i) the at least one indicator illuminates and (ii) the system determines, using the sensor data, whether a detected object is within a swing path of the door. The system, responsive to determining that no object is within the swing path of the door, opens the door.
