A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element assembly. The mirror reflective element assembly includes a main reflective element backing plate and a main reflective element. The main reflective element includes a glass substrate having a mirror reflector coated at a surface thereof. The mirror reflector-coated glass substrate of the main reflective element is attached at the main reflective element backing plate. The mirror reflective element assembly includes an auxiliary reflective element backing plate and an auxiliary wide angle reflective element. The auxiliary wide angle reflective element is positioned on the auxiliary reflective element backing plate. The auxiliary reflective element backing plate is attached to the main reflective element backing plate via an attachment mechanism.
VEHICLE SIGHTING DEVICE, AND METHOD OF SETTING ANGLE OF VIEW OF IMAGING SECTION OF VEHICLE SIGHTING DEVICE
When a relationship between a distance from a rear camera to a target subject, and a ratio of a size of the target subject displayed on a monitor with respect to a size of the target subject reflected in a half-mirror, is determined while fixing an angle of view of the rear camera to a predetermined value, the angle of view of the rear camera is set such that a size of the target subject at an infinite distance in the relationship becomes a size that is 0.33 times to 0.5 times a size of the target subject that is reflected in the half-mirror.
VEHICULAR CAMERA SYSTEM
A vehicular camera system includes a camera module having an imager assembly, a main circuit board and a camera housing. The imager assembly includes (i) an imager disposed on an imager circuit board and (ii) a lens holder having a lens assembly that includes a lens barrel accommodating a lens. The imager assembly includes a flexible ribbon cable that electrically connects to an electrical connector at a multilayered PCB of the main circuit board. The camera housing includes an upper cover and a lower cover and includes a forward portion and a rearward portion. The main circuit board is accommodated within the forward and rearward portions, and the imager is disposed at the rearward portion and is not disposed at the forward portion of the camera housing. The lens holder is attached at the upper cover of the camera housing.
Vehicle imaging system
A vehicle imaging system for a vehicle including a rear viewing device configured to be located at a lateral side of the vehicle. The vehicle imaging system including an image capturing unit and a display unit. The image capturing unit is configured to take images of surroundings of the vehicle, is located in the proximity of the rear viewing device, includes an optical axis and a field of view, and is configured such that the field of view of the image capturing unit generally extends rearward until a forward limit of a field of view of the rear viewing device. The display unit is configured to communicate with the image capturing unit and displays the images, and is adapted to be located in an interior of the vehicle.
REARVIEW DEVICE WITH MOVEABLE HEAD ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SAME
A rearview device for a motor vehicle includes: a moveable mirror head assembly that includes an upper casing element, a lower casing element, and a bezel that carries a mirror glass; a base frame; a camera secured within a camera cradle that is mounted to the base frame; a motor cradle connected to the upper and lower casing elements; and an articulation assembly attached to the base frame and configured to move the moveable mirror head assembly connected to the articulation assembly via the motor cradle; wherein the camera is positioned to view through at least one of (i) an opening in the bezel through the mirror glass, or (ii) an opening in the lower casing element behind the mirror glass.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING VEHICLE DRIVING INFORMATION
A system for displaying vehicle driving information may include: first and second image acquisition devices configured to capture an image of a first side on which a driver seat is located and an image of a second side which is the opposite side of the first side, respectively; first and second display devices configured to display the captured images of the first and second image acquisition devices, respectively; first and second BSD devices and configured to sense side-rear vehicle information; and a control device configured to recognize the location and vehicle distance of the side-rear vehicle by analyzing the side-rear vehicle information detected by the first and second BSD devices, determine whether to issue a BSD warning, and control BSD warning icons of the ego vehicle and the side-rear vehicle to be displayed as an OSD of the images displayed on the first and second display devices.
Collision avoidance system for vehicle
A vehicular collision avoidance system includes a forward-viewing camera, a rearward-viewing camera, a rearward-sensing radar sensor and an electronic control unit. The vehicular collision avoidance system detects vehicles present forward and/or rearward of the equipped vehicle. Responsive to at least one selected from the group consisting of (i) data processing of image data captured by the rearward-viewing camera and (ii) data processing of sensor data captured by the rearward-sensing radar sensor, the vehicular collision avoidance system determines potential of collision with the equipped vehicle by a detected other vehicle and/or determines that impact with the equipped vehicle by a detected other vehicle is imminent.
Convex rearview mirror and monitor with reversible back/socket mount
A rear-view mirror and modular monitor system and method include an interior mirror that embeds a modular monitor behind see-through mirror glass. In some embodiments, the system includes multiple cameras, some in the vehicle, bus and/or truck, as well as some cameras outside the vehicle, bus and/or truck, advantageously providing the driver an opportunity to view what is happening, for example, in the back rows of the bus and/or cabin, while also using the mirror to look at objects in the bus and/or cabin that are visible using the mirror. The rear-view mirror and modular monitor system is configured to be easily assembled and/or disassembled when necessary for maintenance and/or to replace parts.
