20220203938 · 2022-06-30 ·

The disclosure provides for a wiper system for cleaning a surface of a sensor housing, such as a sensor housing positioned on top of a vehicle. The wiper system includes a plurality of windows spaced around a sensor housing, and a plurality of wipers positioned around the sensor housing, each of the wipers includes a wiper blade configured to clean a corresponding window of the plurality of windows. The wiper system further includes a drive system including a moveable part coupled to a motor. The motor is configured to drive the drive system to simultaneously rotate the plurality of wipers around the sensor housing such that the plurality of wipers remove debris from the plurality of windows.

Dual action wiper system

A wiper system for a vehicle is provided. The wiper system includes a driving assembly. The wiper system further includes a supplementary wiper having a first end that is coupled to a first pivot point of the driving assembly. When the wiper system is activated, the driving assembly is configured to swing the supplementary wiper about the first pivot point from a resting position to an extended position. The supplementary wiper is configured to be statically disposed at the extended position to prevent water from passing over one of two A-pillars of the vehicle to a side window of the vehicle. When the wiper system is deactivated, the driving assembly is configured to stow the supplementary wiper back from the extended position to the resting position.

A motor-powered windshield scourer for any type of a motor-powered vehicle and or motor craft. The motorized windshield scourer may have a motor propelled appendages or a singular appendage that have replaceable scouring attachments joined to the appendages. The motor that propels the appendages can be positioned anywhere on or in the motor vehicle/craft, whether under the hood, in the cabin or elsewhere. The motor driven appendages with joined scouring attachments may be mounted on the windshield of the vehicle directly opposite of the windshield wiper blades. When turned on, the motor may move the appendages with joined attachments in a side to side and/or up and down motion across the windshield. The appendages may include an unpliable metal such as: steel, titanium, tungsten, or inconel, and the scouring attachments may include nylon scouring pads or a vinyl coated mesh attached to and covering rubber or foam.

Method for controlling wipers based on a camera exposure time

A computer implemented method for operating a wiper system of a sensor enclosure. The wiper system can be configured to receive a camera operating information from one or more cameras. The one or more cameras can be determined to be in an exposure mode based on the camera operating information. A first speed of one or more wipers can be adjusted such that the one or more wipers are not in field of views of the one or more cameras while the one or more cameras are in the exposure mode.

Roof assembly comprising a cleaning feature and motor vehicle comprising a cleaning feature

A roof assembly for forming a vehicle roof of a motor vehicle. The roof assembly may have a panel component at least partially forming a roof skin of the vehicle roof, the roof skin serving as an outer sealing surface, at least one environment sensor configured to send and/or receive electromagnetic signals through a see-through area to detect a vehicle environment, and at least one cleaning feature. The cleaning feature may have a window wiper assembly having two wiper elements which have a common pivot axis, the one wiper element being configured to clean a windshield or a rear window and the other wiper element being configured to clean the see-through area.

Cleaning unit for cleaning foreign matter from a cover, in particular a cover of a transmitter/receiver window of a driving environment sensor, and device for sensing the environment and method

A cleaning unit for cleaning foreign matter from a cover, in particular a cover of a transmitter/receiver window of an environment sensor, including at least one movable wiper blade, which is arranged so as to wipe off foreign matter such as water or dirt on the cover by movement along the cover. For this purpose, the wiper blade touches the cover for example with one or multiple rubber lips. The wiper blade is positioned in an inclined manner with respect to a direction of movement of the wiper blade and is thus movable in such a way that a force exerted by the moved wiper blade on the foreign matter has a component in the direction of the force of gravity. Also described is a related device for sensing the environment as well as a method for cleaning a cover.
