Wiper with ice removal apparatus
Apparatuses and methods for removing ice from a windshield. A windshield wiper includes a wiper assembly, a scrubber assembly, and an engaging assembly. The wiper assembly includes a wiper support structure and a wiper blade attached to the wiper support structure. The scrubber assembly includes a scrubber support structure, an elongated scrubber element and a motor. The scrubber element is movably attached to the scrubber support structure and extends between a first end and a spaced apart second end along a central longitudinal axis. The scrubber element can have a hardness value sufficient to remove ice from the windshield. The motor is mounted to the scrubber support structure and is engaged with the scrubber element to move the scrubber element to remove ice. An engaging assembly can be coupled with the wiper assembly and the scrubber assembly to raise and lower the scrubber assembly with respect to the wiper assembly.
LIGHTNING STRIKE PROTECTION FOR AN AIRCRAFT WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM
An aircraft windshield wiper system includes a wiper arm, a wiper blade coupled to a distal end of the wiper arm, and a drive shaft coupled to a proximal end of the wiper arm. The wiper blade is configured to clean water, dirt, and other debris from the windshield of the aircraft. The drive shaft is configured to rotate and cause the wiper arm with the coupled wiper blade to sweep across the windshield. The wiper arm includes both composite and metal components to reduce the weight of the windshield wiper system while also providing lightning strike protection.
ALTERNATIVE WINDSHIELD CLEANING SYSTEM
The present invention pertains to an automotive vehicle windshield cleaning system for cleaning outer windshield surfaces by an alternative means to wiper blades. The alternative windshield cleaning system includes a windshield component that applies a nano-hydrophobic coating or photocatalytic coating. A plurality of nozzles are arranged near the windshield periphery to spray or distribute generated compressed air. A control valve controls compressed air flow to the plurality of nozzles and regulates compressed air flow. A control unit operably connects and controls valving based on information received from one or more sensors. The control valve regulates compressed air flow towards the plurality of nozzles. Nozzles spray or direct compressed air onto a windshield's outer surface to remove extraneous elements residing on or along windshield surfaces.

ATTACHMENT FOR A WIPER ARM
An attachment for a wiper arm of a windscreen wiper of a vehicle, having a rod arm, comprises a fluid channel for conducting a fluid and a first dimensionally stable element, wherein a first fluid channel section is formed in the first dimensionally stable element. The attachment also comprises a second dimensionally stable element, wherein a second fluid channel section is formed in the second dimensionally stable element. A wiper arm including the attachment is also disclosed.
WIND DEFLECTOR FOR A WINDSCREEN WIPER SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A wind deflector for a windscreen wiper system of a motor vehicle has a receptacle for fastening the wind deflector to a component of a wiper arm of the windscreen wiper system. The wind deflector has at least two parts which can be mounted in a divided state on the component of the wiper arm and subsequently can be joined together, as a result of which the wind deflector can be secured to the component of the wiper arm of the windscreen wiper system.
Wiper arm device
The invention relates to a wiper arm device with an integrally formed wiper arm element (10) which is provided with a fastening part (12) for articulated connection and which has at least one wiper arm element portion (14) with a longitudinal extent of at least 10% of the total longitudinal extent of the wiper arm element (10). According to the invention, it is proposed that the wiper arm element portion (14) has a cross-section that differs from an at least substantially U-shaped cross-section.
