OUTPUTTING AIR USING COMBINATION OF AIR AND SPRAY NOZZLES ON WIPERS TO PREVENT WINDSHIELD WIPER RUNOFF AND CLEAR RAIN

Systems and methods are provided for operating a windshield wiper comprising a one or more nozzles for outputting a gas. Examples include a windshield wiper system that comprises a wiper blade, a windshield wiper arm configured to couple to the wiper blade at a distal end and couple to a vehicle at a proximal end, one or more nozzles disposed at the distal end of the windshield wiper arm, and a processor communicatively coupled to the one or more nozzles. The processor is configured to control the one or more nozzles to selectively output a gas based a position of the wiper blade on a windshield.

An autonomous driving sensor cleaning system for a vehicle includes a rotatable cover unit configured to surround a sensor such as a cylindrical sensor. The system also includes a cleaning unit coupled to the cover unit to transmit a rotation driving force to the cover unit and configured to clean the cover unit by friction while being rotated in a direction opposite to the rotation direction of the cover unit. The system also includes a rotation driving unit coupled to the cleaning unit and configured to transmit the rotation driving force to the cleaning unit.

There is provided a system and method for monitoring snow or ice accumulation on a vehicle window by a user with a mobile device. The system includes a camera directed to at least a portion of a window in the vehicle. The system further comprises a heating element, a blower and vents. Images from the camera may be sent to a mobile device that can be displayed on a screen. These images can be used to determine the presence of snow or ice, and the amount of clearing of snow or ice that has been achieved after activation of the system.

A surface wiper device which includes a carrier which supports a blade. The carrier attaches to a wiper arm which urges the blade against and moves the blade across the surface of a windshield. The carrier further provides a plurality of outlets each of which communicate between a hollow passage inside the carrier and a location on the external surface of the carrier. A fluid can be delivered from a fluid source fluidicly coupled to the hollow passage of the carrier under sufficient pressure to be dispersed from the plurality of outlets onto the windshield during movement of the blade. A fluid heater can be thermally coupled with the fluid delivered from the fluid source to the plurality of outlets to increase the temperature of the fluid dispersed onto the windshield. The fluid can be sufficiently heated to generate a heated gas.
