An electropneumatic valve arrangement is for actuating a parking brake function of an electropneumatic brake system of a commercial vehicle, with a pilot control unit, which modulates a pilot pressure in dependence on an electronic parking brake signal, and which is configured to be self-holding, wherein the pilot pressure can bring about a modulation of a parking brake pressure at least at one spring accumulator connection or can be modulated as such. The valve arrangement also has an emergency release connection with an emergency release path for optionally inputting an emergency release pressure, which brings about the modulation of the parking brake pressure at the at least one spring accumulator connection.

Method for controlling a motor vehicle service brake device and service brake valve device for said type of service brake device

A method for controlling a pneumatic or electro-pneumatic service brake device of a vehicle is provided. In the method a driver brake request occurs by actuating a service brake actuating element of a service brake valve device of the braking device. In response to actuating the service brake actuating element, at least one control piston of the service brake valve device is loaded with a first actuating force in order to generate a pneumatic brake pressure or brake control pressure in at least one pneumatic service brake circuit of the service brake device. The control piston directly or indirectly controls at least one double-seat valve of the service brake valve device. The at least one double-seat valve includes an inlet seat and an outlet seat. The at least one control piston of the service brake valve device in addition is loaded by a second actuation force additionally or instead of the first actuation force. The second actuation force, which is generated independently of a driver braking request, is applied to the at least one control piston in parallel to the first actuation force, either in the same direction or in the counter direction.

Systems and methods for braking a vehicle. The method includes receiving, with an electronic controller, a signal from a mode activation indicating the vehicle is in a first mode and receiving, with the electronic controller, a signal from an input mechanism. If the vehicle is in the first mode and an operator of the vehicle actuates the input mechanism, the electronic controller sends a signal to a brake of the vehicle to lock up a wheel of the vehicle.

Braking control system for a trailer
10377362 · 2019-08-13 ·

A braking control system for a trailer includes a braking system on a semi-trailer with the brake application handle located at the inside rear of the trailer. The handle has a locking member so that personnel loading the trailer are able to apply and lock the brakes on the trailer, and only the person(s) holding the key are able to release the brakes. The system prevents the trailer from moving away from the dock plate and having the dock plate fall through the space between the moved trailer and the dock, injuring personnel and/or damaging equipment.
