An environment information acquisition unit 20 acquires an image in which environment around a vehicle has been imaged, information indicating a contact with the vehicle or an impact on the vehicle, surround sounds, approach identification information for enabling an approach of an emergency vehicle to be identified, and the like as surrounding environment information of the vehicle. A vehicle control processing unit 61 recognizes predetermined external stimulation information included in the surrounding environment information, for example, a specific signal or a movement with a specific pattern, a contact to a specific part, and a specific sound. The vehicle control processing unit 61 uses the recognized predetermined external stimulation information as a vehicle brake instruction from outside and starts a vehicle braking sequence to stop the vehicle. Even if an abnormality occurs in an automatically driven vehicle and the like, vehicle brake control is easily applied to a traveling vehicle from outside.

Vehicle control device

The vehicle control device according to the present invention is a device that automatically controls the travel of a vehicle at least partially, the vehicle control device comprising: a traveling environment acquisition unit that acquires a traveling environment of the vehicle when the travel control is performed; and a vehicle control unit that performs state change control to change a state of the vehicle on the basis of the traveling environment acquired by the traveling environment acquisition unit, when the travel control is transitioned from automatic to manual or when such a transition is predicted.

Method and control unit for operating a driver assistance system of a vehicle

A method for operating a driver assistance system of a vehicle, in which interventions activated by the driver assistance system in a travel mode of the vehicle are at least partially suspended for a predetermined time window when an override intent of a driver of the vehicle is recognized.

Secondary disengage alert for autonomous vehicles

Aspects of the disclosure provide for determining when to provide and providing secondary disengage alerts for a vehicle having autonomous and manual driving modes. For instance, while the vehicle is being controlled in the autonomous driving mode, receiving user input at one or more using input devices of the vehicle. In response to receiving the user input, the vehicle may be transitioned from the autonomous driving mode to a manual driving mode and provide a primary disengage alert to an occupant of the vehicle regarding the transition. Whether to provide a secondary disengage alert may be determined based on at least circumstances of the user input. After the transition, the secondary disengage alert may be provided based on the determination.

RESPONDING TO A SIGNAL INDICATING THAT AN AUTONOMOUS DRIVING FEATURE HAS BEEN OVERRIDDEN BY ALERTING PLURAL VEHICLES

In one aspect, a device includes at least one processor and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage includes instructions executable by the at least one processor to receive at least one override signal of at least a first autonomous driving feature of a vehicle, disable the first autonomous driving feature responsive to the override signal, and wirelessly transmit to at least a first computer server a signal indicating that the override signal was received.

Vehicle control device, vehicle control system, vehicle control method, and storage medium

When a second condition is satisfied in a case in which an automated driving control unit performs switching from automated driving to manual driving, a request for a remote operation is sent to an outside-vehicle facility using a communicator, and remote driving for automatically controlling at least one of acceleration/deceleration and steering of a vehicle is executed on the basis of control information received from the outside-vehicle facility.

Driving assist system

A driving assist system includes a steering wheel contact position detector, a steering torque detector, and a driving mode setting calculator. The steering wheel contact position detector includes a plurality of contact sensors disposed in a segmented state on a circumference of a holding part provided on a steering wheel, and is configured to detect a position on the steering wheel at which a driver makes a contact with the steering wheel. The driving mode setting calculator is configured to set a driving mode on the basis of a driving condition. The driving mode setting calculator is configured to determine whether a steering torque detected by the steering torque detector is a steering override intended by the driver or is a false detection, on the basis of the steering torque detected by the steering torque detector and a position at which the contact is detected by the contact sensors.

VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS, VEHICLE, OPERATING METHOD OF VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A vehicle control apparatus for controlling a vehicle based on peripheral information of the vehicle, the apparatus comprising: a control unit configured to control steering and acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle in a first state in which holding of a steering apparatus of the vehicle by a driver is required or a second state in which holding of the steering apparatus is not required, wherein the control unit transitions a state of the vehicle from the second state to the first state, if input of an intervention operation for acceleration/deceleration by the driver is detected in a case of executing course change of the vehicle, when the vehicle is traveling in the second state.

DRIVER ASSIST DEVICE AND ADAPTIVE WARNING METHOD THEREOF
20210276484 · 2021-09-09 ·

A driver assist device and an adaptive waning method thereof are provided. The driver assist device includes a processor and a non-transitory storage medium containing program instructions executed by the processor. The processor detects outdoor and indoor information of a vehicle using a detector and determines a waning mode based on a traveling situation and a driver state identified through the detector when a warning-requiring situation is recognized during an operation of a driver assist function. A warning is then output based on the determined warning mode.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MOTOR DRIVEN POWER STEERING
