Vehicle frame component
A vehicle frame component for limiting the movement of the wheel of the vehicle toward the cab of a cab on frame vehicle including a base member welded to openings in the frame side rail and extending outwardly and located proximal the wheel structure. In one embodiment the vehicle frame component is located forward of the wheel and includes a tire puncture device to deflate the tire during an offset front impact and in a second embodiment the vehicle frame component is located rearward of the wheel. The vehicle frame component has particular utility during an offset front impact where the offset is less than approximately twenty-five percent (25%) of the width of the vehicle.
Electric vehicle multi-speed transmission with integrated fixed reducer gear set
A powertrain system for a commercial electric vehicle includes an electric motor, a multi-speed transmission, and a drive line. A reducer assembly is added prior to connection to the drive line to decease the rotational speed generated by the electric motor prior to being transmitted to the drive line. The reducer assembly can be placed before the multi-speed transmission input, after the multi-speed transmission output, or somewhere in between those two locations. The reducer assembly includes a reducer gearset for decreasing shaft rotational speed. The reducer assembly may include adjacent idler gears to reduce the pressure load on the gear teeth of the reducer assembly.
Portable solar powered generator
A system and method for portable solar power generation is provided. The portable solar power generator will be mounted on a movable platform, making it easy to transport and install in different places. Using solar panels, the generator will create electricity, which will be stored in a battery and converted to alternating current (AC) via an inverter. The generator has a control panel that allows users to monitor and regulate power generation.
Thermal management for electrified vehicle
A thermal management system for an electrified vehicle and a method for managing such a system, includes a coolant subsystem to cool a battery pack and a refrigerant subsystem. The coolant subsystem includes a battery chiller in fluid communication with a cooling system inlet to the battery pack. The refrigerant subsystem includes a chiller cooling subsystem to cool the battery chiller and a cabin cooling subsystem to cool a passenger cabin, wherein the chiller cooling subsystem and the cabin cooling subsystem are completely separate from each other.
Vehicle frame for electric vehicle
An electric-vehicle frame includes a mid-section and an end section. The mid-section has first and second frame rails spaced from each other by a first distance along a cross-vehicle axis defining a battery compartment therebetween. The end-section has first and second frame rails spaced from each other by a second distance along the cross-vehicle axis smaller than the first distance. A first connector is fixed to the first frame rail of the mid-section and to the first frame rail of the end-section. A second connector is fixed to the second frame rail of the mid-section and to the second frame rail of the end-section.
Multi configurable half top assembly
A top for a Jeep type vehicle is provided having a rear cargo area and parallel spaced roll bars. The top includes parallel spaced apart C pillars, each C pillar including front and rear vertical columns, the rear columns having a perpendicularly connected seat belt pass-through. The C pillars also have bottom plates connecting the front and rear columns that extend beyond the rear column. A top plate connects the front and rear columns together. The C pillars include pivotally connected sealing plates for sealing a top end of a rear door, the sealing plates being connected to the roll bars. A vertical rear window extending between said C pillar rear columns is provided, the rear window having a cutout portion for allowance of passage of a seat belt therethrough. A fabric cover providing a top deck extends over said front and rear seating portion of said vehicle and also covers the C pillars. A tonneau cover is provided for covering the rear cargo area providing a flat surface enclosure over the cargo area.
Electric truck
An electric truck has a chassis, on which a driver's cab with a motor compartment containing an electric motor is disposed in the front of the electric truck, and in the rear a cargo body rests on the chassis. The cargo body substructure sits on vehicle longitudinal beams of the chassis. The cargo body bottom sealing the cargo body on the underside is spaced above the vehicle longitudinal beams to ensure clearance for a sufficient spring travel. A battery housing with at least one integrated battery is disposed in the intermediate space between the vehicle longitudinal beams and the body bottom, so that a larger installation space is available for the batteries and therefore a greater range for the electric truck. The battery is protected in this region and, moreover, the insulation of the battery housing simultaneously contributes to insulation of the cargo body disposed above the battery housing.
PROTECTIVE CAGE ASSEMBLIES FOR ELECTRIFIED VEHICLE BATTERY PACKS
A protective cage assembly includes a frame, a bracket assembly mounted to a first tubular member of the frame, a gusset of the bracket assembly extending between the bracket assembly and a second tubular member of the frame, and a third tubular member of the frame removably received by the bracket assembly. The protective cage assembly may be mounted within a cargo space of an electrified vehicle for both protecting the battery pack and establishing a load bearing floor of the cargo space.
FUEL TO ELECTRIC REUSABLE CONVERSION KIT AND A METHOD OF CONVERTING AND REUSING THE CONVERSION KIT
Suitable for frame vehicles, the kit provides a frame to be mounted on the chassis with attachment devices at a head section and at a middle section of the frame that supports an electric motor, a transmission and at least one battery system. Replacement of the conventional engine and transmission by the frame-mounted unit can be fast. The frame can be attached at the middle section using shear bolts to avoid impeding a crumple of the chassis during a front impact.
