The ribs project normally to the deck panel past the ridges, and have elongate cross-sectional shapes, with cross-sectional thicknesses substantially the same as or greater than the cross-sectional thicknesses of the adjacent ridges and valleys.

The bed can be defined in part by a first lateral side wall and a second lateral side wall. The first and/or second lateral side wall can include an inner wall member, an outer wall member, and a top protector. The top protector can being operatively connected to the inner and outer wall members. The top protector can define a top surface of the respective lateral side wall. The inner wall member can include a transverse portion that extends to an innermost end. The innermost end can be substantially adjacent to an inner side of the top protector. Thus, the inner and outer wall members can support the top protector across substantially its entire width.

The solar panel charges a battery that operatively connects to a hub motor in the wheels. A remote control system remotely controls at least one trailer. The trailer may be tethered, wireless, or autonomous to wirelessly track and follow the truck.

The propulsion module is structured to be detached from the vehicle for mechanical connection to an off-board device. The propulsion module includes an electric motor and a power supply, and the power supply is operable to power the electric motor to output mechanical power. The control module is configured to receive a connection status of the propulsion module. In response to the connection status indicating that the propulsion module is detached from the vehicle, the control module is configured to operate the power supply at an off-board rated power to power the electric motor.

Installation of a snorkel on a vehicle can be facilitated by slide-in attachment configurations. A slot can be defined in a vehicle body member (e.g., a fender). The slot includes an insertion portion and a retention portion. A width of the insertion portion is greater than a width of the retention portion. The snorkel has an inlet end portion and an outlet end portion. The outlet end portion can include a flange. The width of the flange is less than a width of the insertion portion but greater than the width of the retention portion. The outlet end portion can be-initially received in the insertion portion. The snorkel and/or the vehicle body member can be manipulated so that the outlet end portion moves into the retention portion. The outlet end portion can be retainably received therein due to the flange being larger than the width of the retention portion.

Electrified vehicle with vibration isolator within frame and corresponding method

This disclosure relates to an electrified vehicle with a vibration isolator within a frame of the vehicle and a corresponding method. An electrified vehicle according to this disclosure includes a frame with a rail, a vibration isolator within the rail, and a battery pack connected to the rail by way of the vibration isolator. Among other benefits, mounting the vibration isolator within the rail increases the amount of available packaging space.
